Optical Property of $TiO_2$ Thin Film growing by Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition (APCVD법으로 성장된 $TiO_2$ 박막의 광학적 특성)

  • $TiO_2$ 박막은 좋은 내구성 전기적 특성과 함께 가시광선 영역에서의 높은 투과율, 높은 굴절률을 나타내어 태양전지의 반사 방지막, TFT 절연막, 광학적 필터에 쓰이는 다층 광학적 코팅 재료 등에 쓰이며 높은 이용가치로 인해 이에 대한 많은 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 논문에서는 APCVD(Atmospheric Pressure Chemical Vapor Deposition)법을 이용하여 $200^{\circ}C$에서 $350^{\circ}C$까지 증착 온도를 변화시키며 $TiO_2$ 박막을 제조할 때 나타나는 광학적 특징 변화에 대한 연구를 수행하였다. 온도가 증가할수록 굴절률은 커지고 $TiO_2$, 박막안의 기공과 결함의 비율은 감소하였다. 광투과율은 UV범위 이후에서 급격한 증가를 보였으며 온도가 증가함에 따라 흡수단이 긴 파장쪽으로 이동하였다. 흡수단의 증가는 광학적 밴드갭과 연관되며 온도가 증가할수록 광학적 밴드갭은 낮아지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

Fabrication of Hydrophobic Anti-Reflection Coating Film by Using Sol-gel Method (Sol-gel 법을 이용한 내오염 반사방지 코팅막 제조)

  • Anti-reflection coating films have used to increase the transmittance of displays and enhance the efficiency of solar cells. Hydrophobic anti-reflection coating films were fabricated on a glass substrate by sol-gel method. To fabricate an anti-reflection film with a high transmittance, poly ethylene glycol (PEG) was added to tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) solution. The content of PEG was changed from 1 to 4 wt% in order to control the morphology, thickness, and refractive index of the $SiO_2$ thin films. The reflectance and transmittance of both sides of the coated thin film fabricated with PEG 4 wt% solution were 0.3% and 99.4% at 500 nm wavelength. The refractive index and thickness of the thin film were n = 1.29 and d = 105 nm. Fluoro alkyl silane (FAS) was used for hydrophobic treatment on the surface of the anti-reflection thin film. The contact angle was increased from $13.2^{\circ}$ to $113.7^{\circ}$ after hydrophobic treatment.

  • Lasers for optical broadband communication systems should have excellent frequency selectivity and modal stability. DFB lasers have low lasing frequency shift during high speed current modulation. In this paper, when a refractive index grating and a gain grating are simultaneously present in a DFB laser having a wavelength of 1.55 ㎛, the dielectric film is coated so that reflection does not occur on the right mirror surface, so that ρr=0. For the first mode, which requires a minimum gain at the threshold, the beam distribution of the oscillation mode in the longitudinal direction and the radiated power ratio Pl/Pr were analyzed and compared for the cases of the phase of ρl=π and π/2. If the phase of ρl=π, in order to obtain a low threshold current and high frequency stability, κL should be greater than 8. In the case of the phase of ρl=π/2, for low threshold current, κL is necessary to be 1.0, where the oscillation frequency coincides with the lattice frequency. DFB lasers with an anti-reflection coated mirror have excellent mode selectivity than 1.55um DFB lasers with two mirror facets
