전자계산기 자동제어에 의한 효모 발효의 포도당 유가배양

  • PDP 전자 계산기를 발효소에 연결하여 자동 제어하의 효모 유가 배양을 수행하였다. 필요한 부대 장치들을 만들어 성공적으로 사용하고 feed-back자동 제어를 수행할 수 있게 발효도중 임의의 시간에 발효 조건을 모니터하도록 하였다. 연속 세포 농도 측정을 위한 플로우ㆍ셀을 자체 제작하여 사용함과 동시에 기포 제거를 따로 할 필요가 없도록 하였다. 측정 시그날을 위한 증푹기도 자체 제작하였던 바 우수한 성능을 보여 주었다. 이 경험으로 다른 모든 측정 장치의 개발과 전자 계산기에의 연결에 값진 경험을 주었다.

  • 한국만화 100년을 조망하는 대규모 기획전시 '만화-한국만화100년'전이 한국만화100주년 위원회(위원장 박재동.김동하.이동수.이홍우)와 국립현대미술관(관장 배순훈) 공동 주최로 국립현대미술관에서 오는 8월 23일까지 개최된다. 이번 전시는 굴곡진 한국 근 현대사와 함께 한 '한국만화 100년의 역사', 풍성한 문화콘텐츠로 발전을 거듭해온 '장르만화', 만화의 예술적 가능성을 살펴본 '크로스오버-미술과 만화의 경계 너머' 등 세 구역으로 나뉘어 진행된다. 또한 한국만화의 각 시대를 대표하는 250여명의 작품 1500여점, 만화적 감성과 상상력으로 작업하는 현대미술작품 60여점이 전시되고 있다.

  • The silicon-nirtide membrane structure for IR sensor was fabricated through the etching and the direct bonding. The PRO($PbTiO_3$ ) layer for a IR detection was coated on the membrane and its characteristics were measured. The a attack of PTO layer during the etching of silicon wafer as well as the thermal isolation of the IR detection layer were eliminated through the method of bonding/etching of silicon wafer. The surface roughness of the membrane was measured by AFM, the micro voids and the non-contacted area were inspected by the PTO layer were measured, too.

  • Disinfection and molecular weight changes by electron beam irradiation has been examined. Before radiation, the viscosity of oven-dried HA decreased about 30% but the viscosity of vacuum-dried HA did not decrease. The number of viable cell depends on the relative humidity(RH). The cell number decreased about 30% in RH 0% and about 10% in RH 100%. After radiation, the decrease in the molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid was larger in the RH=0% than in the RH=100% and was larger in the vacuum-dried HA than in the oven-dried HA. The extent of disinfection were similar for all form.

  • Ex vivo hematopoietic cells can treat patients suffering from hematopoietic malignancies using bone marrow transplantation therapies. A initial cell density of $1.5{\times}10^6cells/ml$ and a growth factors of IL-3(5ng/ml), SCF(5ng/ml) and FL(25ng/ml) result in a 3.6-fold expansion of LTC- IC but a unexpansion of total cells.

  • Erythritol is a four-carbon sugar alcohol with a low calorific value and non-cariogenicity. Erythritol is a new functional sweetener which can be used as sugar alternative. Erytheitol dose not cause discomfort such as diarrhoea and flatulence upon ingestion. The purpose of this study is to develope a novel process of erythritol economically in a large scale. To obtain a high erythritol producer, we have screened 3500 colonies from molasses, honey and honey combs. We have selected 40 erythritol-producing microorganisms, one of which yields 140g/L erythritol in 40% glucose medium. We have tested this strain in 5L fermentor to examine the fermentation characteristics. Results of fermentation show that the erythritol production was about 1.4g/L$.$hr in 400g/L glucose media with a 42% conversion. Further improvements require mutation for a higher producer, process optimization to reduce glycerol, and suppression of excessive foaming.

Influence of Amino Acid and Vitamin Addition on the Growth and Metabolism of a Hybridoma in Batch Culture (하이브리도마의 회분식배양에서 아미노산과 비타민의 첨가에 따른 세포성장과 대사의 변화)

  • The effects of various step-fortifications of the initial medium with amino acids, glucose, and vitamines on the growth and metabolism of a hybridoma cell line in batch cultures were quantified. Comparisons between the metabolic rates of the various cultivations were made for the exponential growth phase. Fortification of the basal medium resulted in higher cell densities through a prolonged growth phase, but the maximum specific growth rate was not affected. The uptake rate of glutamine increased with the addition of amino acids but did not change upon the addition of glucose or vitamines. The specific glucose consumption decreased slightly with the addition of amino acids but increased production of lactate and {{{{ { NH}`_{4 } ^{ +} }}}}. A reciprocal relationship between the yields of {{{{ { NH}`_{4 } ^{+ } }}}} and lactate indicated a joint regulation of glycolysis and glutaminolysis.
