Conditionalization and Confirmation: A Vindication of Conditionalization (조건화와 입증: 조건화 옹호 논증)

  • The main objective of this paper is to vindicate the Bayesian belief updating rule, i.e. conditionalization. For this purpose, I introduce first what I call Irrelevance Principle, and show that this principle is equivalent to conditionalization. In turn, the principle is vindicated by means of Bayesian confirmation theory. That is, I suggest some theses that Bayesian confirmation theorists should accept, and prove that if Irrelevance Principle is violated, the theses cannot holds.

  • 인터넷의 급속한 발전으로 매우 많은 정보와 다양한 컨텐츠가 개인 사용자들에게 제공되고 있다. 또한, 개인을 고객으로 하는 각종 포탈 사이트들이 많이 생성됨에 따라 고객 개인을 위한 고객화된 정보가 매우 중요한 하나의 컨텐츠로 작용하고 있다. 하지만, 현재 국내외 전자상거래를 주목적으로 하는 포탈 사이트의 시스템들은 고객에 관한 정보를 단순한 개인 프로파일로 활용하고 있을 뿐 고객 정보를 이용하여 더 많은 개인화된 새로운 정보를 창출하지 못하고 있다. 본 논문은 고객에 대한 정보를 세분화하고 분석하여 제3의 개인화 정보를 생성하여 자동으로 각 개별 고객에게 개인화된 정보를 제공해 줄 수 있는 시스템을 설계 및 구현하고자 한다. 고객의 이메일 오픈율과 마우스 이벤트 정보를 분석 및 계산하여 개별 고객에게 고객의 관심정보 및 관심 컴포넌트를 생성한 후 관심정보와 관심 컴포넌트를 이용하여 개별 고객의 관심 정보를 고객이 선호하는 이메일 규격 및 양식에 맞게 에이전트를 통해 자동으로 재구성하여 푸쉬해 주는 개인화 메일 자동 생성 에이전트 시스템을 개발하고자 함이 본 논문의 목적이다.

Analysis of organic germanium, Ge-132 (유기게르마늄 화합물인 Ge-132의 분석법)

  • An organic germanium compound, Ge-132, was reported to have interferon inducer activity, anti-tumor activity and anti-viral activity. ICP, AA and colorimetry methods were used for the determination of germanium in Ge-132. However these methods have a problem that they only give an information on the total amount of germanium element, and consequently Ge-132 connot be distinguished form toxic inorganic Ge compounds. To overcome this problem, ion chromatography was used to analyze Ge-132. Ge-132 was separated on Ionpac AS4A column with 1.3mM $Na_2B_4O_7$ buffer(pH=9.2) solution as an eluent and detected by the conductivity detector. Correlation coefficient of the calibration curve was 0.999 and the detection limit measured at S/N ratio of 3 was 50pmol. This method was applicable to the analysis of Ge-132 raw material and Ge-132 preparations.

  • 본 논문은 시간영역에서 대칭좌표법을 사용한 전력품질 이벤트 검출에 관한 연구이다. sag, swell. interruption, harmonic, flicker, transients, notches, spike 등과 같은 전력품질 이벤트들이 이 방법으로 쉽게 검출된다. 본 방법은 웨이블릿, s-변환, 힐버트 변환 등의 방법이 가지고 있는 계산 부담이 없기 때문에 온라인 응용프로그램에 쉽게 사용될 수 있다. 단상 전력품질 이벤트 신호는 시간 영역에서 대칭요소를 계산하기 위하여 120도, 240도 위상차를 가지고 생성되는 다른 두 신호와 함께 이동되어 간다. 전력품질 이벤트 신호의 시작점(triggering point)은 역상분으로부터 쉽게 검출될 수 있고 이벤트는 정상분과 역상분의 합을 사용한 파형의 특징 분석으로 쉽게 분류될 수 있다. 시뮬레이션된 결과는 전력품질 이벤트의 검출과 분류를 위한 본 방법의 효과를 보여주기 위하여 다수의 전력품질 이벤트를 보여주고 있고 전력계통망 지락사고 시뮬레이션을 수행하여 유용성을 확인하였다.

The Hydration Heat of High Strength Concrete (고강도 콘크리트의 단열온도상승에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • The heat of hydration of cement causes the intemal temperature rise at early age, particulay in massive concrete structures. As the results of the temperature rise and restraint condition, the thermal stress amy induce cracks in concrete. The prediction of the thermal stress is very important in design and consturction slages in order to control the cracks in mass concrete. In this study, the temperature rise of high strength concrete due to the heat of hydration is investigated. Test variables are type and content of binder. As the results, the temperature rise is imcreased with increasing cement content. However, the increament is decreased in higher cement comtnet range. Fly ash is effictive in the reduction of hydration heat.

  • For applicating to 10-Gbit/s optical transimission systems, we have designed and fabricated a laser driver IC with extremely-high-operation-frequencies using AlGaAs/GaAs heterojunction bipolar transistors (HBTs), and have investigated its performances. Circuits design andsimulation were performed using SPICE and LIBRA. A discrete AlGaAs/GaAs HBT with the emitter area of 1.5*10 .mu.m$^{2}$, used for the circuit fabrication, exhibited cutoff frequency of 63 GHz andmaximum osciallation frquency of 50 GHZ. After fabrication of MMICs, we observed the very wide bandwidth of DC~18 GHz and the S$_{21}$ gain of 17 dB for a laser driver IC from the on-wafer measurement. Metal-packaged laser driver IC showed the excellent eye opening, the modulation currents of 32 mA, the rise/fall time of 40 ps, measured at the data rates of 10-Gbit/s.

Development of Fly Ash Super-Flowing Concrete (플라이애쉬를 사용한 2성분계 초유동 콘크리트의 개발)

  • In this study, several rheological properties of binder pastes and concrete are investigated for the development of commercially available fly ash super-flowing concrete. Fly ash contents with 5 leves(0, 10, 20, 30, 40%), slag contents with 6 levels(0, 5, 15, 25, 35, 45%), and water-binder ratios with 4 levels(30, 33, 36, 39%) are selected for test variables to evaluate the super-flowing characteristics of binder pastes. For the estimation of the workability of super-flowing concrete, slump flow, funnel time, box height, and L-flow are measured and compared. As the results, the flow is decreased and the viscosity is increased with increasing fly ash content. Super-flowing concrete is succesfully produced with 30% fly ash replacement.

  • High strength ready-miced concrete with delivering time of about 90 minutes is successfully produced at ready-mixed concrete plant and placed columns and retaining walls of a tall building without any problems. The design strength of the concrete is 450 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the required average compressive strength is 540 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ according to ACI 363R-84 report with assumed coefficient of variation of 12% For the producing of good quality concrete, many laboratary and field tests are carried out. As the results of this study, the slump loss of high strength concrete is largely influenced by kinds of superplasticizer. The measured pump pressure of high strength concrete with slump of 22cm is higher than that of normal strength concrete with slump of 18cm by about 20~30% The measured average 28-day compressive strength of the concrete is 551 kgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ and the coefficient of variation is 2.3%

Lifetime Assessment of Electronic Watt-hour Meters (전자식 전력량계의 수명평가)

  • Recently mechanical watt-hour meters are being replaced by electronic watt-hour meters. The replacement period of mechanical watt-hour meters is 7 years. This period is based on long term historical data. The replacement period of electronic watt-meters is also 7 years. This period is determined using the replacement period of mechanical watt-hour meters. However lifetime of mechanical watt-hour meters is different from the lifetime of electronic meters. In order to determine desirable replacement period of electronic watt-hour meters, accelerated life tests of major components in electronic watt-hour meters were performed. The test results showed that LCD was the component which had the shortest lifetime. In this paper, lifetime of electronic watt-hour meters manufactured by 3 company was estimated and life test standard for LCD was developed.

  • We have investigated a correlation of the electrical properties of the Pd/Ge/Pd/Ti/Au ohmic contact on n-InGaAs with its microstructures for the high temperature application of compound semiconductor devices. The samples were heat-treated by the rapid thermal annealing at various temperatures. In the contact system, moderately good specific contact resistance was obtained even before annealing because of the low metals-InGaAs barrier height, and better ohmic performances were observed by annealing up to 400˚C. But the ohmic performance was degraded after annealing at 450˚C due to the increment of Pd$_2$Ga$\sub$5/ phases.
