The purpose of this study is to investigate current trends and future directions of research in the area of gifted education through the analysis of published manuscripts on giftedness and gifted education between $2000{\sim}2006$. About 521 articles among 35 journals and 49 dissertations listed in the Korea Education and Research Information Service, including the journal of gifted/talented education and the journal of giftedness and gifted education, were mainly analyzed in the present study. The articles were examined by topics, domains, ages, and research methods both yearly and synthetically. The most widely researched topic was curriculum and program issues in gifted education, and the topic related to factors and development of giftedness was the second. Most studies have continuously focused on the mathematically and scientifically gifted students, and studies on gifted students in the areas of art, language, and other domains were scant. Issues on underachieving gifted students and underachievement were researched actively in 2005. More research has utilized elementary students as samples rather than middle or high school students. Young children under 7 have attracted much attention by researchers after 2004. Related to research methods, literature review was the most widely used, survey was the second, and experimental and correlational studies were the next. Implications related to results were discussed in depth.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the students' perception of the learning support system of Korea Science Academy and to propose improvements to it. The impact of the science learning support system on 129 gifted students in Korea Science Academy (KSA) was estimated by using Likert-type items and the multiple-choice method approach for more comprehensive evaluation. The results of our investigation are as follows: First, the learning support system of KSA appears globally useful to the students. The list of educational usefulness to the students comprises, in the decreasing order of utility, classroom work, Internet, lab activities, reading rooms, library, research meetings and clubs, academic advisors (AA), SAF (Science Academy Fair), e-learning system, and finally colloquia by invited lecturers. Second, what the gifted students hope for in the realm of learning support from KSA are learning guides by subject teachers, presentation skill program, the constructions of on/off-line learning communities, etc. It seems that the results of this study would be helpful in improving the learning support system, and will provide useful information for planning the direction of future science-gifted education programs at the high-school level.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the research trends in domestic related to gifted counseling by utilizing Sementic analysis methods. For papers of gifted education in korea, KCI(Korea Citation Index) rated journals were selected 83 pieces published in journals were collected and the Sementic Network Analysis(SNA) way was utilizing for keyword frequency and Centrality Network Analysis throughout a variety of research articles using krkwic and Ucinet6.0. The results are as follows. first, the analysis appeared that the trends of paper keywords from highest frequency of appearance keyword in papers focused on four keywords: perfectionism, career, counseling, and the science gifted. second, Analysis of annual trends from 2001 to June 2018 showed that the top keywords were as follows: the gifted underachievers, the perfectionism, the gifted students of Science, and the science gifted students. the rising keywords were perfectionism, twice-exceptional students, and gifted parents, and the keywords of gifted students and general students showed a tendency to decrease. Consequently, gifted counseling research should be done from various perspectives.
