A Study on Blockchain Technology Adoption and Intention of Logistics Firms in Korea

  • Cryptocurrency, represented by Bitcoin, initially received little public attention, but recently raised global cryptocurrency investments with recognition of future value. The academic interest in cryptocurrency lies elsewhere. This is because the future value of cryptocurrency is likely to be highly applicable to the technology underlying cryptocurrency. The technology is the blockchain. The purpose of this study is to find out what factors influence logistics companies to adopt blockchain technology. Based on the TOE frame, this study presented expected profit, organizational readiness, technology compatibility, and competitive pressure as factors of adoption of blockchain technology. And the effects of these factors on the adoption intention of logistics companies were analyzed empirically. A survey was conducted on Korean logistics companies. Analysis of the collected data showed that expected profit, organizational readiness, technology compatibility, and competitive pressures influence the intention to adopt blockchain technology. Among them, however, expected profit and organizational readiness were found to have the greatest influence on adoption intention.

Does Co-evolutionary Pattern Exist between KOSDAQ and KOSDAQ-Listed Companies? (코스닥시장과 코스닥상장기업간 진성성장 상관패턴 연구)

  • The ultimate goal of this paper falls on assessing the magnitude of co- evolutionary pattern existing between the genuine growth of KOSDAQ and KOSDAQ-Listed Companies. This paper define the concept of "genuine growth" as including quantitative and qualitative growth of each entities. This paper take genuine growth indexes of KOSDAQ as liquidity, fairness, volatility, transparency, while that of KOSDAQ-Listed Companies as quantitative financial indexes and qualitative financial indexes. This paper brings three research implications as conclusions. First, growth engine of KOSDAQ resulting in its' qualitative growth besides quantitative one is founded on number of KOSDAQ-Listed companies showing outstanding financial performance qualitatively, Second, increasing permanent profit portion of KOSDAQ-Listed Companies have induced a long-term assessed investment rather than short insight speculation in the year of 2005. In addition, source of lowering market volatility and stabilizing market is strongly correlated with the excellency of profit quality among KOSDAQ-Listed Companies. Third, a high adaptability of KOSDAQ-Listed companies meeting with market sustaining requirements enable KOSDAQ to enhance market efficiency.

Valuation and Earnings Information Contents Based on Financial Ratios (재무비율정보에 기초한 기업가치평가와 이익정보의 질적 차이)

  • The purposes of this research are to analyze information contents of net book value and earnings. If investors use Net book value and earnings to their investment strategies, These informations are positively to be correlated with future corporate value. Research methodologies applied are theoretical and empirical ones. Results of the study are as follows: First, as investors form their investment portfolios, PBR and ROE are good indicator in finding out undervalued and overvalued corporation. Second, present earnings are differently reflected in future stock prices. Price-earnings correlation of undervalued corporations are higher than that of overvalued ones. Results of this study imply that Investors can utilize net book value and earnings to their investment strategies.

  • e-Loyalty는 인터넷 웹사이트나 커뮤니티에 대한 충성도를 의미하며, 현재의 충성도를 의미하는 밀착도(stickiness)와 미래의 충성도를 의미하는 지속적 이용 의도로 구성된다. 본 연구에서는 이러한 e-Loyalty에 영향을 미치는 주요요인으로 사용자 참여, 네트워크 효과, 사회적 영향 유용성을 선정하였다. 연구결과, 현재의 충성도인 밀착도에는 사용자 참여, 네트워크 효과, 사회적영향, 유용성이 모두 유의하게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 미래의 충성도민 지속적 사용의도에는 사용자 참여와 유용성만이 유의한 영창을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 사용자 참여가 기업의 현재 이익을 결정하는 중요한 요인이 되기도 하지만, 지속 가능할 미래의 경쟁력을 확보하는 데에도 중요하다는 것을 시사하는 것이다. 따라서 인터넷 기반의 기업은 사용자 참여를 향상시킬 방안을 적극 모색할 필요가 있다.

  • 현재 대부분의 국내외 종합통신사업자들은 외부적인 통신산업의 경쟁 격화 및 새로운산업 트렌드 변화로 인해 매출과 영업이익이 정체되는 위기상황에 처해 있으며, 이를 타개하기 위해 미래 통신산업의 mega trend에 대응하여 사업구조를 재편하고 신규 수익모델을 창출하는 등 사업포트폴리오를 변화시키고 있다. 국내외 수많은 종합통신사업자들 중에서 일부는 미래 통신산업 mega trend 변화에 적극적으로 대응하여 다양한 전략적 옵션들을 취함으로써 성공적으로 변모해가고 있는 반면, 다른 일부는 소극적으로 대처하거나 또는 아무런 인식이 없이 본업에만 안주하여 스스로 위기를 자초하고 있는 듯 하다. 이에 본 고에서는 새로운 패러다임 변화에 적극적으로 대처하고 있는BT와 NTT 그룹의 사업포트폴리오 변화 사례 분석을 통해 국내 종합통신사업자에게 미래 서비스 사업구조 개선 방향에 대한 시사점을 제공하고자 하였다.

  • 전력사업은 전력서비스를 제공하는 사업으로서, 사업의 목표가 전력화사의 이익만을 극대화하는 방향으로만 설정되어는 안된다. 전력사업 운영의 일반적인 두 가지 목표는 전력공급의 안정성 확보와 경제적인 전력공급이라 할 수 있다. 그러므로 국가경제의 중추를 맡고 있는 전력산업은 새로운 환경과 불확실한 미래에 대처할 수 있는 환경의 요구 등이 제기되고 있다. 이러한 요구를 충족시키기 위한 노력이 진행되고 있으며 그 가운데 하나의 방향은 전기사업자의 공급가격과 소비자의 수요에 대한 정보를 이용하여 공통의 이익을 보다 더 향상시킬 수 있고 더 폭넓은 선택을 가능하게 함으로써 전기 사업자와 수요자 모두에게 더 많은 이익을 줄 수 있는 새로운 요금제를 확산시키는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 오늘날의 이러한 요구에 부응하여 새로운 형태의 요율제도로써 제시되고 있는 실시간요금제(Real-Time Pricing)와 그에 따른 수익보정(Revenue Reconciliation)방법을 통한 수요반응을 분석하여 부하율 향상에 관한 결과에 대하여 알아본다.

  • This study identified what children's TV program model should KBS offer to the realization of the value of children audience. Results demonstrated that educational and norm, content diversity & children's interest, cultural diversity, and program accessibility were derived as the characteristics of children's programs pursued by parents bringing up children. This study further expects the efforts of KBS to provide children's programs that people want may serve as a key mechanism for enhancing awareness of the need for public broadcasting and contributing to the realization of normalizing TV license fees.

Earnings Quality of Firms Selected as the Global Champ Project (글로벌 전문사업 선정기업의 이익의 질)

  • This study aimed to examine earnings quality of firms selected as Global Champs project which has been promoted by the government since 2013 to support small and medium sized enterprises, for the screening year(t-1) and selected year(t). Earing quality is measured as the value of discretionary accruals estimated by Dechow et al.(1995) adjusted Jones model and Kothari et al.(2005) model, respectively. I analyze the differences of earning quality between the Global Champ firms and the paired firms selected through criteria of the similar total assets and the same industry in the screening year and the selected year. This study is motivated by the needs of measurement of the performance of the Project from the accounting transparent point of view. As the results of this study, major findings are summarized as follows. Firstly the earnings quality of the selected firms was lower than that of the paired firms. This can be explained as a result of motivation of earnings management by companies eager to meet the requirements to be selected for the Project. Secondly, in the selected year, the earnings quality was proved to improve, comparing to the screening year. This can be explained by the efforts of companies to reinforce management innovation and transparent management, which in turn led to positive effects on the earnings quality. These findings were found to be consistent in the additional analyses, where the earning quality of the reconstructed sample with only selected companies was compared for the screening year and the selected year, based on the year before the screening year(t-2).

  • The method of predicting the future may be predicted by technical characteristics or technical performance. Therefore, technology prediction is used in the field of strategic research that can produce economic and social benefits. In this study, we predicted the future market through the study of how to predict the future with these technical characteristics. The future prediction method was studied through the prediction of the time when the market occupied according to the demand of special product. For forecasting market demand, we proposed the future forecasting model through comparison of representative quantitative analysis methods such as CAGR model, BASS model, Logistic model and Gompertz Growth Curve. This study combines Rogers' theory of innovation diffusion to predict when products will spread to the market. As a result of the research, we developed a methodology to predict when a particular product will mature in the future market through the spread of various factors for the special product to occupy the market. However, there are limitations in reducing errors in expert judgment to predict the market.
