본 연구의 목적은 유비쿼터스 환경에서 디지털 미디어와 도시경관과 결합한 형태로 나타난 제3의 공간인 도시 경관 미디어의 디자인 방향성 제시와 분석틀을 제안하는데 있다. 디지털 미디어 기술의 다양성과 독창성은 도시 환경을 미학적으로 향상시킴과 동시에 문화컨텐츠의 중요성을 부각시킴으로써 도시의 정체성을 높이는 원동력이 될 것이다. 도시 경관은 도시 활동의 근원으로써 정보의 공급 역할, 공공의 장으로서 휴식과 나눔의 기능, 담론의 장으로서 커뮤니케이션 공간 기능을 담당해야 한다. 이를 위해 도시 경관 미디어 시설물 평가요소 도출과 디자인의 방향성을 제안하고자 한다.

This article presents a historical account of media role in the transition and consolidation period of democracy. Despite the assumption that media plays a important role in the construction of democracy, it is less clear how the media can affect the process of political change itself. This article seeks to answer some of these question, based on the Mill's macro-social comparative 'method of difference' of Korea and Spain. It is widely agreed that both states achieve democracy through transaction from above(pacts). Media role, however, differs significantly in accordance with authoritarian legacies and civic representativeness of the pacts. Whereas Korean dailies is deepening given market oligopoly and prior practices after democratization, Spain dailies market entirely changed in both structural and spiritual respects. As a result, Korean dailies substantially lacks in civic representativeness as before, contrary to Spain. Spain television settled a sort of the external pluralism. Korean television is pursuing the BBC type of internal pluralism. In Korea, television is more commercial than Spain. Consequently, Spain media serve the consolidation of democracy more than Korea on the whole.

본고에서는 광대역 무선 멀티미디어 재난통신 기술의 기술개발 동향 및 표준화 동향을 알아본다. 기술 개발동향의 경우는 정보시스템, 센서망, 통신 인프라 측면에서 개발하고 있는 프로젝트 내용을 분석하고 필요한 기술들을 알아본다. 표준의 경우는 MESA, ETSI (EMTEL, TETRA, SES) 등 주요 표준 단체의 표준 추진현황을 살펴보고 내용을 설명한다.

멀티미디어 통신, 양방향서비스, 방송분야 등에서 미래의 핵심기술로 정착될 무선광대역시스템의 물리계층을 중심으로 최근의 기술들 - 무선 LAN, 무선ATM, TDMA, CDMA, LMDS/MMDS등 - 을 서술하였다. 광개역무선모뎀의 발전방향은 LAN을 확장한 무선인프라의 구축과, 셀룰라망과 같은 무선 공중망의 광대역 멀티미디어 서비스로 나아가고 있다. 마지막으로 전파환경과 이의 발전방향을 제시하였다.

칼라 역 헤프토닝(Color inverse halftoning)은 헤프토닝된 칼라 영상을 시각적으로 보다 자연스러운 연속계조 영상으로 변환해 주는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는, 칼라 채널 영상에서 나타나는 모아레 페턴을 효과적으로 제거하면서 경계를 보존할 수 있는 적응적 평활화(adaptive smoothin) 방법을 제안하였다. 적응적 평활화 방법은 해프톤 영상을 블록으로 나눈 후, 각 블록에서의 모아레 패턴이 존재하는 정도를 나타내는 모아레 가중치 값을 계산하고, 이 값에 다라 평활화 정도를 조절한다. 실험을 통해 제안한 방법이 경계를 효과적으로 보존하면서도 모아레 패턴을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있음을 확인하였다. 제안한 방법은 전자 출판, 칼라 팩스, 해프톤 영상의 압축, 디지털 도서관 구축 등과 간은 멀티미디어 응용 분야에서 유용하게 활용할 수 있다.

디지털 혁명이 목전에서 일어나고 있다. 문자, 음성, 사진, 동영상, 애니메이션 등이 하나로 통합된 채 초고속 광통신을 타고 세계를 누빈다. 멀티미디어 시대라 일컫는 21세기는 이렇듯 잡지, 신문, 방송, 영화, 정보통신 간의 경계선을 무너뜨리고 새로운 형태의 미디어들을 탄생시키고 있다. 전자잡지, 인터넷 신문, 인터넷 방송 등이 그 대표적인 예라고 할 수 있다. 이들은 기존 미디어가 갖는 특성은 물론, 인터넷이 지니고 있는 불특정 다수의 리얼타임 정보전달, 즉 동시에 보고, 들을 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 쌍방향 통신에 의한 피드백이 실시간으로 이루어져 21세기 새로운 언론 매체로 각광받고 있다.

Communication of art and the expansion of roles are some of the important discourses of art. For a while, many attempts were made to overcome the enjoyment of art by only a few elites and the alienation of roles. In the meanwhile, due to its formative nature, media art has contributed to the various expansion of roles as a familiar art in society and by communicating with the public in various play contents and industrial context. This study will take a step further and examined whether media art can assess and be used in social issues through the characteristic analysis of 'media art information visualization.' The general field of information visualization only focuses on the clarity of information delivery, so it is effective for intuitively identifying various information. However, stiff visual expression must improve user-friendly functions in an era in which users' sensibility is increasing, and it only focuses on the effectiveness of information delivery that its secondary social problem such as personal information protection must be compensated. Thus, this research analyze the characteristics of case works to examine how the visualization of media art information can approach social problems creatively, seek the expansion of the role of art and compensate the areas that general information visualization is missing.

칼라 역 해프토닝(Color inverse halftoning)은 해프토닝 칼라 영상을 시각적으로 보다 자연스러운 연속계조 칼라영상으로 변환해 주는 방법이다. 본 논문에서는, 분리된 각 칼라 채널 영상에서 나타나는 해프톤 셀 패턴을 효과적으로 제거할 수 있는 새로운 평활화 마스크를 제안하고, 이를 칼라역 해프토닝에 활용하였다. 제안한 평활화 마스크는 기존의 평활화 마스크가 잘 제거하지 못했던 해프톤, 셀 패턴을 시각적으로 보다 자연스럽게 평활해 줄 수 있으며, 마스크의 특성을 평활화하고자 하는 채널 영상에 적합하게 조정할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 실험을 통해, 평활화된 채널 영상과 그 스펙트럼을 비교 분석함으로써 제안한 방법의 유용성을 확인하였다. 이 방법은 전자 출판, 칼라 팩스, 해프톤 영상의 압축 등의 분야에 활용될 수 있다.
