A Study on the Development Plan for the Activation of Library One Service (책이음서비스 활성화를 위한 발전방안 연구)

  • In this study, to set the direction of improvement and development Library One Service, a current status survey was conducted for regional centers and libraries participating in Library One Service, and satisfaction surveys were conducted for users. As a result, it confirms that the user had a positive perception of the Library One Service, but there were various considerations and service improvements from the user and manager side. In particular, the need to solve the problem of instability in the middleware server and to revise the regulations, and to expand the user service and support practical work was confirmed. So, this study proposed to improve the function of the Library One Service, provide new services, support policies such as revision of regulations and related guidelines, and provide practical support for a service operation. Through this study, it expects to be able to present a road map for mid- to long-term development of Library One Service.

UPnP Services for RFID Context-Aware System (RFID 상황인식 시스템을 위한 UPnP 서비스)

  • In this paper, it is presented to utilize UPnP as RFID service discovery and control mechanism for context-aware services. Using UPnP, it is possible to achieve easy deployment of context-aware services and to provide zero-configuration for RFID services. In addition, SQL based cleaning module which raises detection rates is developed since context-aware applications heavily rely on streams of data gathered from RFID tags. Using the cleaning technique, detection rates are improved from 60-80% to 98% or more In order to verify RFID context aware service based on the UPnP, sample context-aware scenario for physical distribution services is implemented on UPnP over RFID system. The impacts of UPnP messages (or service advertisements on network congestion and SQL cleaning module are experimented and analyzed, and the result show the good correctness and validity of the proposed system.

  • Recently, many researches focus on Ubiquitous Network which comprised various networks for effective service provision. In particular, OSGi proposed by OSGi Alliance is preferred for core infrastructure to establish Ubiquitous Network as it supports integration and inter-operation among various service environments, and dynamic configuration of services. However, OSGi is limited to be used only within local service framework, since OSGi specification does not have any considerations for inter-operations between internal and external services. Thus, in this paper we propose JARSIO(JAva Remote Service Invocation for OSGi) framework which enables the inter-operations of dynamic internal OSGi services and other external services. The proposed framework is based on the TCP/IP protocol, and provides effective mechanisms for the inter-operations of the services.

  • An URC (Ubiquitous Robot Companion) is aimed for providing the best service according to situational information that it recognizes. In order to offer human-friendly and intelligent services, a robot middleware requires the technique to automate and control URC service processes, which are based on context-awareness. In this paper, we propose a context-aware workflow system to provide web services based URC services according to situational information. The proposed system offers a platform-independent command object model to control heterogeneous URCs, and supports web services based context-aware URC services. Therefore, the proposed system can increase the reliability of URC services in ubiquitous network environment, on which the diverse URC robots and platforms exist. And it can enhance the flexibility and adaptability of the functional and structural changes of URC systems.

  • Event notification service is a event-based messaging middleware service needed for various vertical domains, such as, business applications, distributed system management, and web service integration. In this paper, we investigate the architecture of an event notification service that includes a subject-based event dissemination service and a flexible message communication service. The event dissemination service is in charge of transferring events asynchronously but speedy according to the subjects of events and their environmental knowledge. It also includes content-based message filtering. The message communication service provides a common communication infrastructure supporting variety types of messages and variety of protocols. Depending on application domains and situation, we can re-configurate the communication infrastructure in order to optimize the efficiency and usability. This paper shows the performance analysis of our event notification service with various types of message formats and protocols.

  • 본 논문에서는 상황인지 시스템에서 규칙들간에 발생하는 충돌을 실행 이전에 탐지하기 위한 기법을 소개한다. 사용자가 새로운 규칙을 입력하면, 이벤트, 조건, 액션 정보를 단계적으로 분석하여, 동일한 이벤트가 상이한 서비스를 요구하는 규칙들을 탐지한다. 이는 실행 중에 발생되는 충돌을 감소시킴으로써, 동적 충돌 탐지 및 해결 대상을 감소시킨다. 제안된 기법은 규칙 기반 상황인지 미들웨어 상에 구현되었다.

  • 월드와이드웹(World Wide Web)의 발전과 더불어 지리정보시스템(GIS)은 웹사이트를 통한 공간 데이터의 접근에 대해 많은 관심을 가지게 되었다. 이러한 진보는 지리정보 산업이 단순한 공간자료 전달이 아닌 지식과 정보를 전달하는 새로운 단계로 성장한 것을 의미하며, 또한 공공의 목적뿐만 아니라 민간분야의 사업에 활용되어 부가가치를 높이는 계기가 되었다. 웹을 이용한 지리정보 유통에 대한 관심의 증가로 등장한 geoportal은 유럽의 여러 선진국과 미국 등에서 지역적 국가적 세계적인 범위의 공간정보 관리를 위하여 연구되고 있다. 본 연구는 유럽과 미국 등 기존의 통합유통체계에 대한 사례조사를 통해 우리의 geoportal 아키텍처를 제시하였다. 아키텍처는 Web portal, Web service, Data management를 구성요소로 하여 상호운용을 위한 미들웨어에 대해 논의한다.

  • It became important to develop a wrapper for web information sources due to prevalence of information services through web information sources. We present a wrapper prototype that is a middleware to integrate web information sources. We present the derivation strategy of XML Schema from HTML documents and the query processing method based on XQJ. The usage example of wrapper API will show the usefulness of our prototype system.

An Implementation of The RFID Middleware Based on Web-Service System Mutual Applications (시스템 상호 운용성을 위한 웹 서비스 기반의 RFID 미들웨어 구현)

  • Recently, RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) has emerged as the main technology in the logistic services. When the existing recognition technology based on bar codes brings about lots of problem due its own limits. RFID becomes the center of attention to solve them. However, RFID is not without any obstacles : companies have their own operating systems. while RFID is developed regardless of each campany's special features. RFID middleware system based on web service is expected to remove these obstacles. This paper shows how to operate the middleware based on web service and to lay in the DB the tag informations taken from reader system Middle assures that companies adopting RFID system for their logistic service are given athptabwebty to any systems whatsoever, avaweable by way of defining logistic information, tag information and reader information. For this purse, we implement as the basic web service a middleware system that turns all data into XML(eXtensatle Markupmsngunfo) of SOAP(Simple Object Access Protocol), the standard data.

Fault-Tolerant Middleware for Service Robots (서비스 로봇용 결함 허용 미들웨어)

  • Recently, robot technology is actively going on progress to the field of various services such as home care, medical care, entertainment, and etc. Because these service robots are in use nearby person, they need to be operated safely even though hardware and software faults occur. This paper proposes a Fault-Tolerant middleware for a robot system, which has following two characteristics: supporting of heterogeneous network interface and processing of software components and network faults. The Fault-Tolerant middleware consists of a Service Layer(SL), a Network Adaptation Layer(NAL), a Network Interface Layer(NIL), a Operating System ion Layer(OSAL), and a Fault-Tolerant Manager(FTM). Especially, the Fault-Tolerant Manager consists of 4 components: Monitor, Fault Detector, Fault Notifier, and Fault Recover to detect and recover the faults effectively. This paper implements and tests the proposed middleware. Some experiment results show that the proposed Fault-Tolerant middleware is working well.
