Wear and wear transition mechanism in SiC and SiC-TiB$_{2}$ Composites during sliding (SiC 및 SiC-TiB$_{2}$복합재료에서 미끄럼시의 마모 및 마모천이기구)

  • 본 연구에서는 SiC 및 SiC-TiB$_{2}$복합재료의 마모 및 마모천이기구를 비교 실험한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 두 재료의 마모천이현상은 각각의 하중이 200N(SiC)과 80N(SiC-TiB$_{2}$)이상에서 나타나게 되었다. 마모기구는 임계미끄럼시간에서 두 단계로 나뉘어진다. 소성변형에 의한 grooving과정과 잔류응력에 의한 grain pull-out과정들로써 미세 구조를 통해 관찰할 수 있었다. grain pull-out과정은 초기단계에서 부터 생성된 전위가 축적되어 잔류응력을 발생시키므로 일어난 과정이다. SiC에 TiB$_{2}$를 첨가하므로 마모는 더욱 심하게 일어나게 되었다. 입계의 강도를 더 약하게 하였기 때문이다. 그러나, 파괴인성은 입계강도가 약할수록 증가하였다. 결국 파괴인성이 큰 재료가 마모는 더 심하게 일어남으로 서로 상반된 관계를 갖고 있슴을 결론지을 수 있었다.

A Roll-behavior Analysis of SUV in Turning Motion on a Slope (경사면에서 선회운동하는 SUV차량의 롤거동 해석)

  • The SUV has a risk of rollover because of the highness of center of mass. In this paper the roll-behavior of a SUV in turning motion is analyzed. Dynamic model of the vehicle on the slope is developed and simulation is carried out using the software ADAMS/Car. The results show that the relational expression between the ground force acting on the tire and the roll motion is well established. It is also identified that the driving state of the vehicle becomes unstable at the lower or upper position of the slope.

냉간성형용 Die강의 마멸특성에 관한 연구

  • 금형을 이용하는 소성가공에서는 형 사이에서 셩형되는 소재가 소성변형되지만 이때 소재는 형의 표면을 따라 미끄러지면서 유동하므로 형재료와 소재간에는 큰 마찰력이 작용하고, 형재료는 이 마찰력에 의하여 전단응력이 작용하게 된다. 따라서 이러한 전단응력이 반복하여 작용하는 프레스가공 등에서는 형의 수명이 항상 문제가 된다. 물론 형의 수명은 형재료가 프레스압력에 견디지 못하여 형이 균열되거나 펀치가 절단되는 것 같은 형재료의 강인성이 불충분하기 때문에 비교적 조기에 일어나는 파손에 의하여 수명의 대상으로 되는 경우도 있지만 무엇보다도 형의 수명을 죄우하는 가장 중요한 사항은 형재료의 내마멸성이다. 따라서 본 연구에서서는 이들 제인자를 고려하여 Die 및 Punch의 재료로 널리 사용되는 냉간성형용 Die강인 STD 11의 마멸특성을 알기 위하여 미끄럼 속도, 접촉압력 및 미끄럼 거리등을 변화시켜 내마멸성을 나타내는 최적사용조건을 찾고자 하는 것을 목적으로 하였다.

Slip Coefficients between Steel Plates Fixed with High Tension Bolts (고장력볼트로 체결되는 철판 사이의 미끄럼계수)

  • Tensile test results using three kinds of steel structure specimens are measured and compared. Slip coefficient between shot blasted steel plates was greater than 0.6. For the case of the plates coated with Super zinc, it revealed that the coefficients were greater than 0.5. On the other hand, Super epoxy coating decreased its slip coefficient less than 0.25. Steel plates coated with Super zinc are proved to be practically applicable to the steel structures with anti-corrosion characteristics and clean surfaces.

  • The present work examines the influence of surface coating on the temperature and the thermo-mechanical stress field produced by friction due to sliding contact. A two-dimensional transient model of a layered medium submitted to a moving heat flux is prsented. A solution technique based on the boundary element method employing the multiregion technique is utilized. Results are presented showing the influence of coating thickness, thermal properties, Peclet number, and mechanical properties. It has been shown that the mechanical properties and thickness of coating have a significant influence on the stress field, even for low temperature increase. The effects of the ratios of shear modulus become more important for low temperature increase than the effects of the ratios of other mechanical properties.

  • In this paper, film thickness and temperature distribution are measured in EHL point contact at high slip ratios. Infrared temperature mapping with two band pass fillers. proposed by Ausherman (1976). is used to measure temperature distribution. And the optical interferornetric method with two filters (red and green filters) is used to measure film thickness. Result of experiment showed that temperature rising at film and ball surface occurred very dramatically in Dimple zone. As slip velocity, slip ratio and load increased, size of Dimple and temperature rising became more large In addition, Position and shape of Dimple we changed by slip ratios, and increasing of Dimple size decreased traction coefficient. In short, it is appointed that the Dimple phenomenon be developed by the effect of viscosity wedge.

  • The floor slip test method using O-Y·PSM was developed based on the risk assessment and sense of slip by the users implementing actions such as changing walking direction on a floor. This test method is regulated under the Korea Industrial Standard KS M 3510, and in the Korea Industrial Standard KS F 3230, the article of KS M 3510 is cited. Yet, in the standard, the surface condition of test or slip adjustment method is merely mentioned or difficult to be found, and thus it creates confusion in floor slip test using O-Y·PSM. Therefore, this study is to provide the useful data to revise the relative standard through the standardization study including various surface conditions of sample and slip adjustment method used in floor slip test method using O-Y·PSM.

  • This paper presents an anti-lock braking system for commercial vehicles with pneumatic brake system by using slip ratio. By virtue of system reliability, most commercial vehicles adopt pneumatic brake system. However, pneumatic brake systems control is more difficult than hydraulic systems due to a longer time delay and the system nonlinearity. One of the major factors in generating braking forces is the wheel slip ratio. Accordingly, the proposed ABS strategy employs the slip ratio threshold-based valve on/off control. This threshold-based algorithm is simple but effective to control the pneumatic brake systems. The control performance of the proposed algorithm has been validated via simulation studies using MATLAB/Simulink and Trucksim. The results show ABS by using slip ratio reduces the braking distance and improves vehicle control.

  • Recently the research for utilization of waste heat produced from electric power plants, casting factories, heat treating factories or commercial are being afforded by the need for energy saving. The objective of this study is to develop a thermoelectric generation system which unused energy from close-at-hand sources such as garbage incineration heat and industrial exhaust etc. into electricity. This paper a thermoelectric technology on a optimum system design method and efficiency and cost effective thermoelectric element on order to extract the maximum power output from energy conversion of waste energy. It is shown that the longitudinal stresses of module contacted with two point constrained Al tubes could be released more than those with a one-point constrained.

  • This paper presents the application of the technique of differential transformation to find the vibration frequencies for inhomogeneous beams with one sliding support, the other clamped and the other pinned boundary conditions. Numerical calculations are carried out. The frequencies obtained from the differential-transformation solutions are compared to published results to demonstrate the accuracy and flexibility of the method.
