Evaluation of Biological Activities on the Extractives of Pinaceae (소나무과 일부 수종의 에탄을 추출물에 대한 생물학적 평가)

  • Most of the cells, specially in the skin, free radicals and reactive oxygen species induced aging, accompanying with diseases. The pinaceae family is very familiar plant with Korean spirit. However, those plants were not estimated for natural products in manufactural process. We employed 4 different plants, Pinus koraienis S et Z. Pinus banksiana LAMBERT. Pinus rigida MILL. Pinus densiflora S. et Z. in pinceae family. The ethanol extracts were prepared for three different parts of plant, wood, bark and leaf, respectively. In this study, we carried out free radical and superoxide radical scavenging assay to investigate the anti-oxidative activity The bark and leaf part of plants showed similar anti-oxidant effect. L-ascorbic acid and $\alpha$-tocopherol at $10{\mu}g/mL$. Also we tried to investigate inhibitory effects of elastase activity in in vitro experiments on pinaceae plant extract as a matters for functional cosmetics. Among those plants, the bark of Pinus rigida MILL. and Pinus densiflora S. et Z. showed inhibitory effect. The cell viability was evaluated with MTT assay. The potential relationship was shown between the cell viability and anti-oxidant effect because the anti-oxidant effects were positively correlated wvith the cell growth in MTT assay. As the results in our experiments, we expect the potential activities of pinaceae as a material of functional cosmetics.

Application of Equivalent Beam Element for Practical Vibration Analysis of Stadium Structure (스타디움 구조물의 실용적인 진동해석을 위한 등가보요소의 적용)

  • In general, stadium structure with long span has low inherent natural frequency. In the stadium structure, structural behavior similar to resonance can be occurred easily by spectator rhythmical movements of which exciting period is small comparatively. It is required to investigate the safety and the serviceability of stadium structure. Therefore, there exists a necessity for accurate vibration analysis. Accurate analysis of stadium structure subjected to dynamic load is required for economical construction and safe design of stadium structure. Stadium structure should be modeled by refined mesh for accurate vibration analysis. As the mesh of stadium structure is refined, the number of divided elements increases in numerical analysis. The number of node is increased and numerous computer memories or computational time are required. So it is very difficult to analyze refine model of stadium structures by using the commercial programs. It is possible to efficient vibration analysis of stadium structure by finite element modeling method using equivalent beam element proposed in this paper, because the number of nodes is decreased remarkably.

State of Education on the Use of Oral Hygiene Supplies among Dental Prosthesis Mounted (치과보철물장착자의 구강위생관리용품사용에 관한 교육 실태)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the state of oral health control education experiences among dental prosthesis users. The subjects in this study were 267 adults who were aged between 18 and less than 65 and resided in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. A survey was conducted from March to June, 2011, and the statistical package SPSS 11.5 was employed to analyze the collected data. The findings of the study were as follows: As for the state of education on the use of oral hygiene supplies, The unmarried respondents considered the use of oral hygiene supplies to be more conducive to oral health than the married ones. The respondents aged between 18 and 39 considered the use of dental hygiene supplies to be more beneficial to oral health than those aged between 40 and 64, and the former deemed it more absolutely necessary to use oral hygiene supplies than the latter). Those who used oral hygiene supplies viewed the use of oral hygiene supplies as more conducive to oral health and considered it more absolutely necessary to use oral hygiene supplies. The respondents expressed higher satisfaction with education on how to wash prosthesis and how to choose oral hygiene supplies. The above-mentioned findings illustrated that the dental prosthesis users were well aware of oral hygiene supplies, and that their satisfaction level with related education was not high in comparison with their awareness of oral hygiene supplies. Therefore dental institutions should provide more authentic education for dental prosthesis users.

Clinical Apply of Dual Energy CT (kVp switching) : A Novel Approach for MAR(Metal Artifact Reduction) Method (듀얼에너지 CT(kvp switching)의 임상 적용: MAR(Metal Artifact Reduction) 알고리즘의 적용)

  • OThe purpose of this article was to measure and compare the value of the metal artifact reduction (MAR) algorithm by Dual energy(kVp switching) CT (Computed Tomography) for non using MAR and we introduced new variable Dual energy CT applications through a clinical scan. The used equipment was GE Discovery 750HD with Dual-Energy system(kVp switching). CT scan was performed on the neck and abdomen area subject for patients. Studies were from Dec 20 2010 to Feb 10 2011 and included 25 subject patients with prosthesis. We were measured the HU (Hounsfield Unit) and noise value at metal artifact appear(focal loss of signal and white streak artifact area) according to the using MAR algorithm. Statistical analyses were performed using the paired sample t-test. In patient subject case, the statistical difference of showing HU was p=0.01 and p=0.04 respectively. At maximum black hole artifact area and white streak artifact area according to the using MAR algorithm. However noise was p=0.05 and p=0.04 respectively; and not the affected black hole and white streak artifact area. Dual Energy CT with the MAR algorithm technique is useful reduce metal artifacts and could improve the diagnostic value in the diagnostic image evaluation of metallic implants area.

플로팅 건축물 설치를 위한 수상대지 개념에 관한 연구

  • 여가시간 및 소득수준 증가에 따라 다양한 활동들이 수상공간에서 일어나고 있으며 이를 수용하기 위하여 다양한 구조물들이 수상에 설치되고 있다. 그 중 플로팅 건축물은 친환경적이고 수상공간을 보다 적극적으로 활용할 수 있다는 이유로 최근 그 사용이 증가하고 있다. 하지만 부유체를 이용하여 수상에 입지하는 플로팅 건축물의 특성으로 인하여 기능, 용도 및 이용목적이 일반건축물과 동일하나 법적으로 다르게 취급되고 있으며 플로팅 건축물의 설계, 건설 및 이용 과정에서 다양한 문제가 발생되고 있다. 이러한 문제들은 최근 수요가 증가하고 있는 플로팅 건축물 활성화에 많은 제약이 되고 있다. 따라서 플로팅 건축물을 일반건축물과 같은 '건축물'로서 법적 지위를 인정받기 위해서는 "건축법"에서 정의하고 있는 '건축물' 및 '대지'에 대한 개념을 바탕으로 플로팅 건축물이 설치되는 수상공간에 대한 수상대지에 대한 개념 설정이 시급한 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 국내외 플로팅 건축물 법적용 사례를 바탕으로 일반건축물에 적용되는 대지의 개념으로 인하여 발생되는 플로팅 건축물의 법적 문제를 도출하고 이를 해결하기 위한 수상대지 개념 설정에 대한 방안을 모색하였다.

표면효과에 의한 Si 나노와이어의 전류 전압 특성

  • 최근 나노크기의 미세구조 가공기술이 발달함에 따라 다양한 응용을 위한 나노소재/구조가 활발히 연구 되고 있다[1]. 그 중에서 실리콘 나노선은 태양전지, 메모리, 트랜지스터 그리고 광 공진기에 쓰일 수 있는 소재로서 기존의 실리콘 가공기술을 바로 사용할 수 있을 뿐 아니라[2], 비용 면에서 탁월한 잇점이 있기 때문에 주목 받고 있는 소재이다. 실리콘 나노선의 물리적 특성을 연구하기 위한 많은 연구가 진행되었지만, 매우 작은 크기와 높은 표면적-부피비율로 인해 생긴 독특한 특징을 완전히 이해하기에는 아직 부족한 점이 많다. 실리콘 나노선의 전류-전압특성에 영향을 미치는 요소는 도핑농도, 표면상태, 채널의 크기 등으로 다양한데, 이번 연구에서는 실리콘 나노선의 표면환경이 공기와 물 두 종류로 매질에 접하고 있을 경우에 대하여 각각 전류-전압을 측정하였다. 물이 공기와 다른 점은 크게 두 가지로 볼 수 있다. 첫째로 물의 경우에는 물에 용해된 수소이온과의 화학반응을 통하여 실리콘 표면전하가 유도되며 pH 값에 민감하게 변화한다. 둘째로 물의 유전율은 공기의 80배로서 표면부근에서의 전기장분포가 많이 왜곡된다. 이를 위하여 SOI를 기반으로 채널길이 $5{\mu}s$, 두께 40 nm, 너비 100 nm인 실리콘 나노선을 일반적인 반도체공정을 사용하여 제작하였다. 나노선의 전기적 특성 실험은 Semiconductor Parameter Analyzer (Agilent, 4155C)를 사용하여 전류-전압특성을 표면 상태를 변화시키면서 측정하였다. 실험을 통해 실리콘 나노선은 물과 공기 두 가지 표면환경에 따라 전류-전압특성이 확연히 변화하는 것을 볼 수 있었다. 동일한 전압 바이어스에서 표면에 물이 있을 때가 공기 있을 때 보다 훨씬 증가한 전류를 얻을 수 있었고(3V에서 약 2배), 비선형적인 전류-전압특성이 나타남을 관찰하였다. 본 발표에서는 이러한 실험결과를 표면에서의 전하와 정전기적인 효과로서 정성적으로 설명하고, 전산모사결과와 비교분석 하고자 한다.

  • By the real use of Rene 80 cast blades at high temperature ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ precipitates in the matrix(${\gamma}$) mainly due to the operating temperature. These precipitates play main role for strenthening of the blades. Generally known that dislocation density increases due to ${\gamma}-{\gamma}^{\prime}$ mismatch by the generation and growth of the precipitates, because the lattice parameter of ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ is higher than that of ${\gamma}$. These lattice parameters of ${\gamma}$ and ${\gamma}^{\prime}$ are determined through the CBED(Convergent Beam Electron Diffraction) method by STEM(Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope) in this work. And also studied, whether and how much the dislocation density increases by the generation and growth of the precipitates.

  • Works that improve the process and notify the improved process, the product and the change of tasks to all users are essential in achieving project. Existent project management tools support the definition and the change of project activities, and configuration management tools support version check, workspace management. build management. etc. It costs too much to buy each tool. as well as, it is burdensome to learn usage for various tools. Therefore the web-based integrated tool is proposed to manage the process and artifacts at a time in this paper. The proposed tool defines component based development process model. and achieves recording of process progression, processing the request of change, reporting the progression of each task, product registering and change, version recording, artifact or form search, etc. using ebXML. Furthermore, the stakeholders get the systematic management and standardization by sharing information that are necessary in process achievement and configuration management in distributed environment using the integrated management tool.

Evaluating the Influence of Liquid Organic Polymer on Soil Aggregation and Growth of Perennial Ryegrass (유기중합물이 토양의 입단화와 페레니얼 라이그래스의 성장에 미치는 영향)

  • Soil aggregate is a vigorous procedure including soil physical, chemical, and biological processes. Pore space created by binding these particles together improves retention and exchange of air and water. Various researches have reported that the benefits of organic polymers that may increase aggregate stability. The purpose of the study was to determine if a liquid organic polymer mixture has any influence on perennial ryegrass quality or soil aggregation. $Turf2Max^{(R)}$ was applied to two soils as a source of liquid organic polymer. Fine-loamy soil from local Iowa topsoil with 4.0% organic matter was screened and dried. Commercial baseball infield clay, $QuickDry^{(R)}$, was used as the second soil There were three rates of liquid organic polymer (0, 2, and 4%). there was no visual improvement in turf grass color, quality, or growth by using organic polymer. It is possible that aggregate stability increases with use of organic polymer. The aggregate stability study needs to be repeated in the greenhouse and then substantiated under field conditions for these preliminary observations.

  • In this paper, Kalman filter and RRWA algorithm are used to estimate the accurate target in IR-UWB (Impulse-Radio Ultra Wideband) radar system, which enables accurate location recognition of indoors and outdoors with low cost and low power consumption. In the signal reflected by the target, unnecessary signals exist in addition to the target signal. We have tried to remove unnecessary signals and to derive accurate target signals and improve performance. The location of the targets is estimated in real time with one transmitting antenna and one receiving antenna. The Kalman filter was used to remove the background noise and the RRWA algorithm was used to remove the reflected signal. In this paper, we think that it will be useful to study the accurate distance estimation and tracking in future target estimation.
