Comparison of Physicochemical and Sensory Characteristics of Soybean Sprouts from Different Cultivars (나물콩 품종별 콩나물의 물리화학적 및 관능적 특성 비교)

  • Physicochemical and sensory characteristics of soybean sprouts from domestic and foreign soybean cultivars were investigated. 100-seed weights of domestic cultivars were much larger than that of Canadian cultivar and recommended cultivars were larger than traditional cultivars. Water absorption of soybeans increased sharply to initial 6 hrs during steeping, and did not change much thereafter. In all soybean cultivars 16 amino acids were detected and the contents of Asp, Glu, Lys and Arg were more than 50% of total amino acid contents. All soybean cultivars showed some difference in composition of fatty acids and the content of linoleic acid was highest. The contents of K and P were high and those of Fe and Zn were low. The compression force of hypocotyl after cultivation was the highest in Eunha and the lowest in Junjeori and the compression force of cotyledon was the highest in Danyeop and the lowest in Canadian cultivar. Qualitative discription analysis for cooked soybean sprouts and soups showed significant difference in 6 characteristics of yellowness of cotyledon, size of cotyledon and so on.

An Experimental Study on the Physical Properties of Concrete Spread with Liquefied Organic and Inorganic Complex Antibiotics (액상 유·무기 복합 항균제를 도포한 콘크리트의 물리적 특성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Recently sewage facilities mainly consisted of concrete structures are being deteriorated seriously by biodeterioration originated from sulfur-oxidizing bacteria. In this study, to prevent biochemical corrosion of the sewer concrete, antibiotics which prevent growth of sulfur-oxidizing bacteria were developed and antimicrobial performance of it was investigated. After that, to consider applicability of antibiotics to concrete, physical properties of concrete spread with antibiotics were investigated. As a results of the study, it was proved that the antimicrobial performance of antibiotics was available. Also compressive strength and bond strength of concrete didn't closely connected with antibiotics, and resistance to abrasion, water absorption and air permeability of concrete was improved remarkably by spraying with it.

  • In this experimental, water-repellent powder, which is a metal salt-based inorganic substance, and natural zeolite powder, which is a pozzolan-based material, were mixed into cement mortar, and their physical properties and resistance to moisture were confirmed. It was confirmed that the test specimen using natural zeolite at the same time had excellent resistance in the water permeation test and the chloride penetration test as compared with the test specimen in which the inorganic metal salt-based water-repellent powder was mixed alone. When a metal salt-based water-repellent powder is used, it cannot be uniformly dispersed inside water due to its insoluble property, and is limited to the surface. When used at the same time as natural zeolite, the setting time at the initial stage of hydration is fast due to the pozzolan reaction, and the water-repellent powder adheres to the porous of the natural zeolite and is evenly distributed inside the test specimen to generate some water resistance.

Physical and Mechanical Properties of Major Korean Ash Species (한국산 물푸레나무속(屬) 주요 수종의 물리 및 역학적 특성)

  • Physical and mechanical properties of major Korean ash species were examined. For Fraxinus rhynchophylla and Fraxinus sieboldiana, green moisture content of sapwood was almost the same value as heartwood. Heartwood of Fraxinus mandshurica, however, had slightly higher moisture content than sapwood. Green and oven dry densities of F. mandshurica were lower than those of F. rhynchophylla and F. sieboldiana. Swelling and shrinkage of sapwood in F. sieboldiana showed somewhat higher value than those of F. rhynchophylla. Longitudinal compressive strength and modulus of elasticity in F. sieboldiana were lower values than those in the other species. Shearing strength in radial section was higher than that in tangential section of all samples. It could be noted that shearing strength of F. sieboldiana demonstrated higher value than that of the other species. Three species had excellent bending properties in MOR and MOE. Impact bending absorbed energy for F. rhynchophylla and F. mandshurica did not show any significant differences.

Functional component analysis and physical property of Cheonnyuncho (Opuntia humifusa) powder (천년초 분말의 기능성분 분석과 물리적 특성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to perform a functional components analysis and investigate the physical properties of powders made from the stems or fruit of freeze-dried Cheonnyuncho cactus (Opuntia humifusa). The functional components analysis showed that the stem and fruit powders han vitamin C levels of 42.14 mg and 105.21 mg, respectively. The stems powder contained more lutein than the fruit powder. The fruit powder contained more vitamin C than the stem powder. The SDF (soluble dietary fiber) and IDF (insoluble dietary fiber) in the stem powder were 45.24% and 22.15%, respectively, which were higher then the values for the fruit powder. The stem and fruit powders contained 19.30 mg/g and 25.10 mg/g of crude saponin, respectively. The pH of the stem and fruit powders was 5.34 and 5.07, respectively, both indicating low acidity. The L, a and b values of the stem powder color were 78.28, -3.71, and 19.19, respectively. The L, a and b values of the fruit powder color were 55.56, 24.84, and -3.18, respectively. The stems powder had a higher bulk density, water holding capacity, and swelling power than those of the fruit powder, but water-retaining capacity of the stem powder was lower than that of the fruit powder. In addition, the stems powder had a higher viscous material content and water uptake compared to the fruit powder. Based on the above results, we determined that Cheonnyuncho (Opuntia humifusa) powder had potentially useful functional components and physical properties.

  • Ionic liquids are expanding their applications in various fields of chemistry, due to their unique properties such as negligible volatility, immisciblity with hydrocarbons, high electrical conductivity, and tunable acidity and basicity. In this paper, the physical properties, synthesis, and commercial applications of ionic liquids are discussed. Recent research trends are also briefly reviewed, particularly on application of ionic liquids to catalysis, biomass, and $CO_{2}$ capture and utilization.

A Study on the Rearrangement of 1,3-Oxathiolane Sulfoxides (1,3-옥사티올란술폭시드의 전위에 관한 연구)

  • 1,3-Oxathiolane sulfoxide 4 in which the sulfoxide oxygen and the 2-methyl group are on the same face of the oxathiolane ring undergoes a sigmatropic rearrangement to produce a ring expansion product. The structure of this product would be dihydro-1,4-oxathiin 6 or isomeric exo compound 7. This paper describes physical and chemical methods to determine the correct structure of the two alternatives. Thus, $^1HNMR$, UV spectroscopies, and mass spectrometry showed that the product actually obtained had the structure 6. It was also found that from deuteration reactions of the product the compound 7 was initaly formed and then tautomerized to endo compound 6.

레이저 스펙클 패턴을 이용한 플라즈마 진단

  • 플라즈마에 레이저 빛을 입사한 후 CCD 소자로 획득한 영상은 검고 밝은 픽셀로 이루어지며 이를 플라즈마 스펙클 패턴이라 정의한다. 그림 1은 $NH_3$ 플라즈마에서 획득한 스펙클 패턴을 보이고 있다 [1]. 광학에서 스펙클 패턴은 빛의 산란을 이용해 정의하고 있지만 최근의 연구에서 이 같은 정의가 잘 못되어졌음이 보고된 바 있다 [2]. 스펙클 패턴은 입사된 빛 물질과 빛 물질 에너지를 흡수하는 표면 플라즈몬 캐리어 (surface plasmon carriers-SPC)가 함께 공존하는 전자계 에너지 필드라고 정의된 바 있다 [2]. 플라즈마 스펙클 패턴은 진공이 SPC와 같은 음의 물질과 입자로 채워져 있다는 가정에 기초하고 있다 [1]. 새로이 정의된 스펙클 패턴은 전하가 없는 photon 모델과는 달리 빛이 양의 전하를 가지고 있다는 사실에 기초한 것이며, 이는 최근의 빛 물질 수집과 관련한 실험적 연구 [3], 빛 물질의 화학적 원소 분석 [4], 빛 물질의 양의 입자성 [5]에 근거를 두고 있다. 빛 물질은 그림 2 [6] 에서와 같이 물 방울을 태양 또는 레이저 빛에 노출시켜 용이하게 수집할 수 있다 [3-6]. 플라즈마 스펙클 패턴에서 픽셀합 분포함수 (pixel sum distribution function-PSDF)을 구할 수 있으며, PSDF에서 추출한 정보는 optical emission spectroscopy, langmuir probe로 수집한 데이터와 매우 유사한 경향성을 보였다 [1, 6]. 이는 스펙클 패턴이 플라즈마의 광학적 전기적 정보를 저장하고 있음을 의미한다. 본 발표에서는 새로운 플라즈마 진단 방식으로서의 스펙클 이미징 시스템, 동작원리, 물리적 기초, 그리고 응용사례 등을 살펴본다.

Survey for Uniform Application of Fertilizer Distributor (비료 살포기의 균일 살포를 위한 현황 조사)

  • 비료 살포는 작물 생장 촉진을 위하여 반드시 필요한 작업이며 재배 관리의 반 이상을 차지하는 중요한 농작업이다. 비료 사용은 양분 공급과 토양의 물리 화학성 개선 등 여러 이점이 있으나 최근에는 과도한 비료 사용으로 양분의 불균형 등의 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 또한 수작업으로 비료를 살포할 시 유해한 성분이 피부에 흡수되고 작업 능률이 낮기 때문에 비료 살포기의 필요성을 가진다. 현재 시중에 판매되고 있는 비료 살포기는 고속의 기류를 이용하여 비료를 날리는 방법과 중력으로 낙하시키는 방법, 원심력을 가하여 멀리 날려 보내는 방법 등이 있다. 그 중 중력으로 낙하시키는 방법과 고속 기류를 사용하는 방법은 석회, 퇴비, 규산질 비료 살포에 부적절함으로 원심력을 이용한 비료 살포가 많이 사용된다. 하지만 원심력을 이용하여 날리는 방법은 구조가 단순하여 비료가 균일하게 확산되지 않고 트랙터의 이동 속도에 따라서 비료의 살포량이 달라진다. 그에 따라 과도한 비료 살포로 이어지며 토지 또한 양분의 불균형 등으로 환경의 문제점이 대두되고 있다. 국내에서는 균일 살포를 위하여 비료 살포기의 내부 날개의 각도를 조절하여 비료 살포의 패턴을 분석하는 연구가 진행되고 있다. 균일 살포의 중요성은 더욱 대두되고 있지만 현재 균일 살포에 대한 연구가 많이 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 기존의 비료 살포기에 균일 살포를 위한 설계 인자를 도출하기 위해 살포기를 분석하여 원심식 비료 살포기의 균일 살포를 위한 기초 자료로 활용하고자 한다.

Mineralogical Characteristics and Formation Processes of Zonal Textures in Hydrothermal Epidote from the Bobae Sericite Deposit (보배 견문모 광상에서 산출하는 녹염석의 누대구조의 특징과 발달과정)

  • Zoned epidotes formed by the propylitic alteration of the Bobae sericite deposit in western Pusan show complex compositional zoning patterns, such as multiple growth zoning, oscillatory zoning, patchy zoning and irregular zoning. The complex zoned epidote, in general, shows AI-rich cores and Fe-rich rims. Pistacite component (Ps) in the epidote ranges from 18.5 to 74.3 mot.%. Remnant textures in multiple growth zoning indicate that the earlier zone was partially resorbed prior to growth of later one. Multiple growth zoning and oscillatory zoning suggest that hydrothermal system underwent rapid changes and fluctuations in fluid chemistry, redox condition, or temperature.
