  • This study proposes that the cultural corporation can be more profitable by adopting the 'Buy-One Give-One' Business Model (BOGO BM) under certain conditions. Specifically, the conditions are that 1) consumers' utility for donating is high enough and 2) the production cost is low enough due to economies of scale or process innovation from employee's intrinsic motivation. We adopt a mathematical model where the demand function is a simple linear function and two companies compete with each other by choosing their quantity of output (the Cournot model). Specifically, we investigate the profitability of the BOGO BM in four situations: 1) a monopolist enjoying reduced cost due to process innovation from employee's intrinsic motivation, 2) a monopolist enjoying reduced cost due to economies of scale, 3) the duopoly with BOGO BM and a general company, 4) the duopoly with two BOGO BM companies. In each situation, BOGO BM can be more profitable than other general companies can under certain conditions.

The purpose of study also pertains to the '2010 Seoul Agenda: Goals for the Development of Arts Education' announced at the Second World Conference on Arts Education, particularly, to the third Goal indicating how arts education practices can contribute to resolving social and cultural issues and promoting social cohesion and intercultural dialogues (UNESCO, 2010). This research engages with critical theory approach and adopts qualitative content analysis for collected documents and interview data. Based on the findings of this research, interview participants found its need of current arts education program for North Korean refugee youth become more value-driven and participant-centered. Currently, those programs available seem to incline to helping their adjustment to the South Korean society through arts-related activities, such as enhancing Korean language skills and learning Korean culture. Rather, it has been addressed that providing emotional and psychological supports and opportunities to search their own 'voice(s)' should be core objectives of the arts education programs. Moreover, when it is offered, arts educators and administrators need to make sure that participants can feel safe and secure as being present at the space for programs in order to express and encounter their true inner voice(s).

  • In this paper, I tried to study the change of the Chinese performing arts market during the 10th 5year development plan, from year 2001 to year 2005 by both of the quantitative and qualitative analysis, because it's really the time when we need to understand the growing market of chinese culture along with the development of the Chinese cultural industry. During that period, the Chinese government developed the policy to establish a healthy cultural market and strengthen it's cultural power; the parts who product the piece of performing arts including the performing troupes, the theatres and the production companies were consolidated and became familiar to market through the reformation of the organization; and the audience who consume the performing arts and entertainments still shows very Chinese characteristics in the cities and villages. In the village, the audiences invite the troupe to play their local theatre in many occasions of their life according to their traditional beliefs, also somehow to show their wealth. The fact that the local governments and the companies are very important consumer groups in China is also very 'Chinese' characteristics. It means that Chinese performing arts are still more or less under the influence of the political ideas. Nonetheless it is worthy of notice that Chinese performing arts not only develope the new contents in very creative way and also try to learn the knowhow of the excellent items of foreign countries by inviting them to the festivals or organize a co-productions on the basis of the upgraded cultural power through the 10th 5 year development plan.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the historical background and characteristics of pop art style and motif expressions in the works of artists by analyzing the theoretical study of pop art and analyze how the expression characteristics are applied to ceramic works. As a result of the analysis of the work, various images of everyday objects in popular culture are expressed in various ways such as bright and colorful colors, silk screen, lettering, photo montage, cartoon expression, object, collage, decoupage, It is believed that the art of ceramics will be created as a creative work that reinterprets the artistic value rather than reproducing the art based on the technique of pop art. I look forward to the development.

  • The Supply side of performance arts has been pretty much developed since the establishment of ARCO. The development level of the demand side, however, was much lower than that of supply side. This unbalance make it difficult to achieve the goal and to complete the mission of ARCO's assistant to the performance arts. Unlike the existing research for solving this problem, this study suggests the positioning strategy of a new value of performance arts for solving this problem. This positioning is, instead of meeting the experiential and symbolic needs, targeting the functional needs to solve the life problems to be faced with aging, for example, the problems from education, human relationship and health. The new positioning will make the demand for the performance arts belong to the top priority group in the expenditure list of consumers because the perceived concept of performance arts will be changed from the "Wants" consumption to "Should be" consumption like a expenditure of private education for children and that of health problems. Therefore, this new positioning is surely expected that the development of new demand from the new position is pretty much higher than that of present positioning. This study also suggests practical strategies, PR and cross functional management system for the implementation of this new positioning.
