This study aims to deane prototypes of professional librarians as well as their job requirements by analyzing international demands for librarianship. Demands analysis starts with examining librarian job posting websites in the US, UK and Canada, followed by inquiring incumbent librarians in Korea. As for the job requirements. the study parallels definitions by IFLA and ALA with job announcements by hiring institutions. As a result, we identified 21 professional librarian prototypes by subject(7), task(12) and object(2), and defined the job requirements as 1) MLS or equivalent school knowledge with undergraduate degree of library science, and/or at least six years of relevant business experience, or 2) at least nine-rear experience as a second-level full-time librarian with two-rear experience and/or professional training in the job relevant field.

In order to index documents, a thesaurus which consists of terms and relationships between terms is used. When an index term is selected, retrieval performance in the information retrieval system could be improved by using the relationship between the terms in the thesaurus. Recently, the usage of a thesaurus are extended from information retrieval to language and knowledge engineering, but term relationships in a thesaurus are simply represented in equivalence, hierarchy, and association. Particularly the associative relationship is vague in its definition and range as compared with the other relationships, i.e. equivalence, hierarchy, therefore the terms that are selected through associative relationship aren't well controlled. This study examines the relationships of existing thesauri, especially the types and ranges of associative relationship, and suggests the adequate type of associative relationship.

Korean society has experienced so-called 'societal crisis' in many aspects of society for a couple of decades and those crises include both natural disasters and tragic catastrophes. Given that, this study purports to investigate, first of all, what is the definition of crisis in general and societal crisis in specific. Next question is what are the major types of societal crises and what are the indicators for those crises. As a result, many areas of societal crisis and corresponding indicators in each area will be introduced. Finally, this study tries to establish a new definition of societal crises based upon a more sociological, more specifically a more phenomenological point of view. For these research purpose, in-depth review for previous research on the subject will be done including psychological and sociological materials. Final outcome of this study will be a new and experimental definition of societal crisis, which will provide the principle base for actual numeric indicators of societal crisis in both macro and micro level.

Recent controversies surrounding plagiarism of research papers submitted to domestic scholarly journals and dissertations lead to scrutiny in the level of scholarly community and that of government as well. Particularly the latter is beginning to deal with the problem as a matter of establishing academic and research ethics at international level. This study looks into the notions and definitions of citation and plagiarism4 along with some basic issues around them in academic and research writings. This study is done in the perspective of library and information science through literature survey. And the following three aspects are investigated and analysed in detail as results of this study. First. the types and related problems of plagiarism are closely examined. Second, citation styles in writing academic and research papers are compared and analysed. Finally, deterring and preventing measures against plagiarism and appropriate citation practices are suggested.

A Technical Manual is the tool that offers a guidance to a maintenance engineer in order to exactly use and maintain of complicated weapon system. Because the modern weapon system are complex and functionality integrated, its quantity is massive. So We spend a lot of money on its publication and suspending recent information. To solve this problem, to reduce a risk of loss and use easily, this study develops the IETM(Interactive Electronic technical manual) which observes the CALS standard. This paper provide the development concept, environment, technic of IETM.

As informatization has been accelerated, the secure information flow has become a major social concern. In that, this paper examines the theoretical background of the information society and the concept of universal service; compares the contrasting perspectives on the social meanings of information; analyzes the definition, importance, and components of information security and suggests some strategies on information security centering around the technical and institutional aspects of it. In so doing, this study aims at establishing the information security and at enhancing our understanding on the information society.

정보화 환경에서 개개인의 지식과 활용 역량 수준은 기업의 경쟁력 향상에 크게 영향을 끼치게 된다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 개인의 역량 발전 단계에 관한 기존 문헌 연구를 통해 정보화 관점의 개인 역량 발전 단계를 정의하고, 각 발전 단계에 따른 개인의 정보화 학습 유형을 분석한다. 또한 개인 정보화 역량 발전 단계를 기반으로 한 동적 평가 체계 및 측정 시스템을 개발하여 실제 산업 현장에 적용해 보고자 한다. 본 연구에서 제시하는 동적 평가 시스템은 평가 영역 설정, 측정 시스템, 해석 체계가 연계되어 있으므로, 향후 기업들이 필요로 하는 효율적 변화 관리와 교육 투자를 위한 도구를 제공할 수 있다. 이러한 동적 평가 시스템은 대한민국의 자동차 제조사에 근무하는 임직원 약 18,000명을 대상으로 적용되었다.

The purpose of this study was to conceptualize the idea of engineering between science and technology, to classify the types of K-9 engineering education, and to develop content standards for it. The primary goal for an engineer is to design, create, and produce new tools, machines, and systems for practical means of human by exploiting technology and science. Engineering is the professional art of using technology, and the practical application of science and mathematics to achieve the optimum conversion of the resources of nature for the benefit of humankind. We reviewed the literatures and documents for background research, had surveys, and interviewed with engineers and educators to set the frame of the content standards for K-9 Engineering education and to construct standards for each sub-component. We developed and suggested the content standards for K-9 engineering education by examining and revising it.

가상공간에서 사용자들은 온라인 커뮤니티(Online Community)로 관계(Relationship)를 맺고, 같은 관심사를 가지고 공감대를 형성하는 일이 하나의 디지털문화로 형성되었다. 이러한 가상공간에서 자신을 대변할 수 있는 또 다른 나, 즉 아바타(Avatar)에 대한 선호가 증가하고 있으며, 사용목적에 따른 사용자 감성의 반영으로 아바타 디자인이 다양한 형태로 발전하고 있다. 아바타의 근원은 분신(分身) 화신(化身)을 뜻하는 산스크리스트어 '아바따라(avataara)'에서 유래되었으며, 인터넷시대가 열리면서 3차원이나 가상현실게임 또는 웹에서의 채팅 등을 즐길 때 사용자를 대신하는 그래픽 아이콘으로 표상되면서 인터넷 상에서 자신을 대표하는 분신으로 정의되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 인터넷 매체 서비스 이용자의 아바타 사용에 따른 유형별 특성에 관한 것으로서, 이 연구를 통해 아바타 디자인의 시각적 표현요소에 효과적으로 활용될 수 요인을 찾고자 하였다. 분석을 위해 인터넷 공동체 집단을 미니홈피/블로그, 채팅, 게임으로 구분하였으며, 아바타 이용자들이 이와 같은 커뮤니티를 이용할 때 어떤 목적에 따라 사용하고 있으며, 그들이 아바타를 선택할 때 어떤 유형별 특성이 나타나는가를 실증하고자 하였다. 이것은 아바타 이용자들이 자신이 표현하려는 아바타 이미지와의 관계를 파악함으로써 가상세계에서 표출하는 아바타 사용 목적에 맞는 유형을 설명할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 아바타 이용자의 특성을 파악하여 그들의 감성을 반영하는 디자인 전략을 세울 수 있다. 연구방법은 아바타의 개념과 유형분류, 그리고 미니홈피/블로그, 게임, 채팅의 이론적 논의 및 근거제시를 위한 문헌연구를 하였으며, 아바타 이용목적에 따른 유형별 특성을 심도 있게 파악하기 위해 질적연구(Qualitative)로서 표적집단면접(Focus Group Interview)을 실시하였으며, 그에 따른 내용분석과 표현분석을 하였다. 그리고 이것을 보다 객관적으로 검증(verification)하기 위해 양적연구(Quantitative)를 병행하였다. 조사대상은 아바타를 이용해 본 경험이 있는 384명의 학생들이며, 성별 연령별에 따른 분류를 통해 각 조사대상자별 특징을 발견하고자 하였다. 조사를 통해 미니홈피/블로그, 채팅, 게임의 서비스 공간에서 보여 지는 각각의 특성에 맞게 아바타 이용자들은 자신이 표현하려는 아바타의 유형에서 선호의 차이를 나타내고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 결과적으로 아바타사용자의 인터넷 매체 이용목적에 따른 유형별 특성을 파악할 수 있었으며, 향후 사이트(site)의 특성에 따라 사용자의 감성선호를 고려한 아바타 디자인 전략과 그 모델(Design model)을 제시할 수 있을 것이다.

In this study, by extracting all relevant types of libraries in the medical field and analyzing their concepts, the research was to clearly define the names and concepts of libraries related to the medical field being mixed and used, to identify types of library, and to draw related legal improvements. The results of the study are as follows: First, the concepts of libraries in the medical field were organized and the types and relationships between libraries in the medical field were summarized. Second, criteria for currently absent hospital libraries are presented based on domestic and overseas research and standards. Third, In order to revitalize libraries related to medical fields in the future, it is necessary to investigate the actual conditions of libraries related to medical fields. Also, It proposed that public hospitals above the hospital level be made mandatory to set up hospital libraries first through national policy and expand services for patients and careers.
