Co-combustion Characteristics of Mixed Coal with Anthracite and Bituminous in a Circulating Fluidized Bed Boiler (순환유동층 보일러에서 무연탄-유연탄의 혼합연소 특성)

  • This study investigated the characteristics of co-combustion of mixed anthracite (domestic and Vietnam) and bituminous coal (Sonoma, Australia) at circulating fluidized bed boiler in Donghae thermal power plant when mixing ratio of bituminous coal is variable. Co-combustion of bituminous coal contributes to improvement in general combustion characteristics such as moderately retaining temperature of furnace and recycle loop, reducing unburned carbon powder, and reducing discharge concentration of NOx and limestone supply owing to improvement in anthracite combustibility as the mixing ratio was increased. However, bed materials were needed to be added externally when the mixing ratio exceeded 40% because of reduction in generating bed materials based on reduction in ash production. When co-combustion was conducted in the section of 40 to 60% in the mixing ratio while the supplied particles of bituminous coal was increased from 6 mm to 10 mm, continuous operation was shown to be possible with upper differential pressure of 100 mmH2O (0.98 kPa) and more without addition of bed materials for the co-combustion of mixed anthracite and bituminous coal (to 50% or less of the ratio) and that of domestic coal and bituminous coal (to 60% of the ratio).

  • The sulfur oxides is one of important materials to come about air pollution at thermal plant consuming fossil fuel. The several flue gas desulfurization equipments are installed and operated to decrease sulfur oxides. The flue gas desulfurization of our thermal plant is designed for optimizing flue gas desulfurization technical development and research by Korea Electric Power Research Institute. We operate this desulfurization equipment. Now, our country imports nearly 97 percentage of the energy source and competes with the world for the energy because of the sudden rise of raw materials cost. The fuel cost decrease of power plants is the most important factor of the operation. The fuel used in the experiment is the domestic anthracite from Kangwon Taeback and the bituminous coal from Taldinsky Mine in Russia. This Study is experimental investigations of desulfurization characteristics for domestic anthracite power plant by increasing bituminous coal. We surveyed possible parameters and conducted the performance about desulfurization equipment in Yong Dong thermal power plant.

  • Combustion of coke/anthracite in an iron ore sintering bed is characterized quantitatively by introducing newly defined parameters related to propagation and thickness of combustion zone and maximum temperature. The parameters are obtained by sintering pot experiment and I-D, unsteady numerical model which treats solid material as multiple solid phases. Experiments and calculations are performed for various major operating parameters: air inlet velocity, different type of fuels which have different reactivity and diameter of the solid fuel. Effects of the operating parameters on the productivity and quality of the sintering process are investigated and evaluated quantitatively and the results show that optimized air supply rate and diameter of anthracite for replacement of coke can be obtained. This approach can be applied to other kinds of combustors for characterization of the combustion in the solid fuel beds.

  • In this study, the physical and mechanical characteristics of Bottom-ash exhausted from each of steam power plant was considered. The comparative objects were Bottom-ash in which a lot of powder contained and that in which less than that relatively contained. The difference in quantity of powder showed different effect on the character of flow. This study was undertaken on the use of Bottom-ash as a fine aggregate, and showed the optimum mixing and the character of flow according to each rate. And this study showed the quantity of water and binder added in different Bottom-ash was differently used.

충남 지역 하수 슬러지의 물리$\cdot$화학적 특성에 따른 재활용 방안 연구 - 유기물을 중심으로 -

  • 충남 지역에서 발생되는 하수 슬러지를 대상으로 재활용을 위한 물리$\cdot$화학적 특성을 조사하였고, 이를 기초로 유기물 중심의 퇴비화 및 연료화 방안을 검토하였다. 하수 슬러지의 함수율은 약 80 % 정도 되며, 유기물이 고형물의 50 % 정도로 퇴비화를 위해서는 다른 폐기물과의 적절한 혼합이 이루어져야 할 것이며, 부숙기간에 따른 C/N비, 식물 독성 및 중금속의 거동 등과 같은 안정성의 신중한 관리가 절실히 요구된다. 또한, 하수 슬러지에 석유 코우크스를 혼합함으로서 무연탄 수준을 넘는 5,000 kcal/kg 이상의 열량을 확보하여 자체 착화가 가능할 것으로 사료된다. 그리고, 하수 슬러지의 함수율을 낮추기 위한 연구 개발이 시급하게 요구되고 있으며, 건조 공정의 연구개발이 성공적으로 이루어진다면 하수 슬러지의 중량감소에 의한 경제적인 면과 재활용방안의 다각화도 함께 이루어 질 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

  • The briquet is made of the coal. The calorie of briquet is 4370 kcal/kg by the law. The combination of coal is important for the manufacturing of briquet. We must know that the Test and Estimation of Calorie is necessary to study. The factory does not make the briquet by the experiment now, but they have made it properly by the experience. We know that the theoritical value of calorie resembles to the practical value of calorie. I think the factory must make a briquet certainly by the experiment. It is a best method for men to prevent from the crisis of briquet gas.

Characteristics of Co-Combustion of Korean Anthracite with Bituminous Coal in a Circulating Fluidized Bed (순환유동층에서 유.무연탄 혼소 특성)

  • The characteristics of co-combustion of Korean anthracite and bituminous coal was determined in a TGA and a lab-scale CFB reactor. The combustion reactivity of Korean anthracite (E = 51.2 kcal/mol) was much lower than that of bituminous coal (E = 14.5 kcal/mol). As the addition amount of the bituminous coal into the anthracite was increased, the reactivity of the anthracite was found to be improved. The effluent rate of the emission gases from the CFB reactor was not changed appreciably when each coal burned. As the bituminous coal was added, however, the effluent rate of the emissions was increased. The unburned carbon in fly ash from the CFB reactor was decreased with increasing the ratio of bituminous coal in co-combustion. But as the ratio of the bituminous coal was larger than 40 %, the combustion reactivity was not increased any more.

  • Coal combustion in an iron ore sintering bed is a key parameter that determines quality of the sintered ores and productivity of the process. In this study, effects of the different types of coal coke and anthracite - on the combustion in the iron ore sintering bed are investigated by modeling and experiment. Fuel characteristics of coke and anthracite are observed through a few basic analysis and thermo-gravimetric analysis. It was found that coke has a higher reactivity than anthracite due to the difference of surface area and density. Those characteristics are reflected to the 1-D unsteady simulation of the iron ore sintering bed. Calculation results show that different reactivity of the fuel can affect the bed combustion, which implies the further investigation should be performed for obtaining optimal combustion conditions in the sintering bed.

  • 유동층 연소기술은 다양한 연료의 사용과 SOx와 같은 공해물질의 배출제어가 용이하여 환경규제에 대한 대처능력이 우수한 발전방식으로 널리 적용되고 있는 추세이다. 국내에서도 동해화력 1,2호기(200MWe급)가 유동층 연소방식을 도입하여 운전중에 있으며, 국내 무연탄을 연료로 사용하는 최대 규모의 순환 유동층 보일러라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 IEA-CFBC 모델을 이용하여 개발된 동해화력 순환유동층 성능모사 시뮬레이션 틀을 이용하여 여러 가지 운전변수 변화에 따른 성능예측을 수행하였으며, 특히, 연소로의 성능향상을 위한 방안의 일환으로 사이클론 개조를 수행하고 그에 따른 성능모사를 고찰하였다. 본 성능평가 결과 연소로내 전체 차압을 증가시키는 운전을 지향하는 것이 연소로내 희박상의 온도분포를 낮추고, 탈황효율을 증가시켜 운전 안정화에 기여하는 것으로 나타났다. 또한, 본 시뮬레이션 틀을 이용한 운전변수 변화에 대한 성능예측 결과 동해화력 운전 실측치와 잘 일치하는 것으로 고찰되었다.
