Trends of Standardization Activity for 5G RAN Architecture (5G RAN 아키텍처 표준동향)

  • 5G RAN은 4G가 진화된 무선기술(evolved E-UTRA)과 5G 무선기술(New Radio, NR)을 모두 지원하는 새로운 무선액세스 네트워크(New RAN)이며, 코어 네트워크 (EPC and NGC)과 접속되어 5G 시스템(NextGen System)을 구성한다. 본고에서는 5G RAN(Radio Access Network,)을 대상으로, RAN 시설 배치 시나리오, RAN과 CN 간 기능 분배 및 인터페이스, 프런트-홀 네트워크의 전송 용량 및 지연, New RAN과 E-UTRA 간 모빌리티 시나리오 등에 대한 표준 이슈를 살펴본다. 마지막 절에선 RAN의 네트워크 슬라이싱 지원 방안으로 상위레벨 개념의 구조와 절차를 정리한다. 본 문서는 3GPP RAN3 그룹의 기술보고서(TR 38.801)와 SA2 기술보고서(TR 23.799)를 바탕으로 작성되었다.

  • Computer Communications and networks have been revolutionized by technological advances in the last decade. There has been an increasing interest in the network security because of the growing popularity of Internet and the importance of networking in business area. With this growing interest, Network engineers come to more concern about improving network survivability. In this paper, we suggest the method that improves the survivability of wired and wireless network. To achieve this goal, we propose the integrated IP management with monitoring network nodes in the same network and controlling its activities.

  • 차세대 이동통신 네트워크는 3G 진화망, 차세대 무선랜, WiMAX/WiBro 등 다양한 무선 접속 기술이 All-IP 기반 핵심망에 연결되어 통합되는 형태로 발전하고 있으며 무선 접속 기술의 커버리지에 따라 이기종 무선망이 중첩되어 운영될 수 있으나, 이에 대한 사항은 고려되고 있지 않은 상황이다. 이에 따라 4G 를 위한 차세대 네트워크와 현존하는 이기종 인터페이스를 지원하는 서비스 프레임워크가 요구되는 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 현재 사용되는 MIPv4 를 기반으로 하는 이기종 무선서비스 프레임워크를 위한 Hand-off 상황에 따른 패킷손실을 최소화 하는 방안을 제안한다.

Efficient Network Selection and Vertical Handover Algorithms for Common Radio Resource Management of Heterogeneous Wireless Networks (이기종 무선망의 통합 자원관리를 위한 효율적인 네트워크 선택과 버티컬 핸드오버 알고리즘)

  • Various terminals equipped with multiple interfaces may receive services from wireless networks when they pass through the overlaid heterogeneous networks, and thus the vertical handovers across the wireless networks increases, which will become a big problem in the network resource management. This problem can be efficiently solved by common radio resource management (CRRM). In this paper, we propose two operation algorithms based on network selection jointly with vertical handover as the key CRRM strategies. When a new user tries to get services, the CRRM can choose the best target network according to the proposed Integrated Network Selection Algorithm. When the network cannot satisfy the request from the new users, the proposed Integrated Vertical Handover Algorithm moves existing users to neighborhood networks to accommodate new users. The performance of the proposed algorithms has been validated through extensive simulations.

  • The Ad Hoc Network Interfaces has been tremendously useful in doing capacity planning and performance prediction. However, in many real-world cases. it has found that the predicted results form a queuing analysis differ substantially from the actual observed performance. Specially, in recent years, a number of studies have demonstrated that for some environments, the traffic pattern is self-similar rather than Poisson. In this paper, we study these Clustering characteristics and the definition of standadization processes.

  • The article introduces developing trends of an adaptive mobile terminal as an interface for use of various network resources, such as public wireless networks and un-licensed wireless networks in ubiquitous sensor network environments, without troublesome settings or operations by users. These adaptive mobile terminals able to provide seamless services that adapt autonomously to the user's movements and changes in the state of wireless resources. Consequently, adaptive mobile terminals should be had respective independent hardware structure of usable wireless networks.

  • In network based on multi-interface, there are needed channel assignment strategy that reduce interference and improve bandwidth efficiency by assigning each interface to available channels in order to utilize effectively multiple wireless interfaces on each node. MCS protocol had been proposed, which improve capacity and throughput of network by using hybrid assignment. MCS uses as the criterion to assign channel the number of node that use the same channel in contention area. but there have an problem that this information exactly does not reflect actually offered channel load. in this paper, we proposes CAMCS protocol to assign channel by that the channel busy degree to indicate the occupancy rate of channel by nodes as well as the number of nodes that use the same channel in inference area is used as criterion for estimation channel load, and conform performance improvement effect by simulation.

A Comparative Study of Aggregation Schemes for Concurrent Transmission over Multiple WLAN Interfaces (다중 무선랜 인터페이스 전송을 위한 결합 방식의 성능 연구)

  • To increase wireless capacity, the concurrent use of multiple wireless interfaces on different frequency bands, called aggregation, can be considered. In this paper, we focus on aggregation of multiple Wi-Fi interfaces with packet-level traffic spreading between the interfaces. Two aggregation schemes, link bonding and multipath TCP (MPTCP), are tested and compared in a dualband Wi-Fi radio system with their Linux implementation. Various test conditions such as traffic types, network delay, locations, interface failures and configuration parameters are considered. Experimental results show that aggregation increases throughput performance significantly over the use of a single interface. Link bonding achieves lower throughput than MPTCP due to duplicate TCP acknowledgements (ACKs) resulting from packet reordering and filtering such duplicate ACKs out is considered as a possible solution. However, link bonding is fast responsive to links' status changes such as a link failure. It is shown that different combinations of interface weights for packet spread in link bonding result in different throughput performance, envisioning a spatio-temporal adaptation of the weights. We also develop a mathematical model of power consumption and compare the power efficiency of the schemes applying different power consumption profiles.

  • 본 논문에서는 내장형 리눅스를 기반으로 무선 네트웍과 실시간 음성처리 VoIP 와의 연동시스템을 설계 구현한다. 설계 구현하는 시스템의 하드웨어 스펙은 Motorola-XPC860 프로세서를 기반으로 설계되었으며, 음성 코덱칩을 사용하여 실시간으로 음성데이터를 처리하도록 설계하였다. 또한 2.4GHz 무선 통신 규약인 Bluetooth 를 무선 네트웍 인터페이스로 사용하였다. 실시간 음성데이터의 효과적인 처리를 위하여 실시간 운영 체제인 RTLinux 를 사용하였으며, 무선 네트워크의 동시다중 서비스 지원을 위해 커널레벨의 문자 디바이스 형태로의 Bluetooth 인터페이스 구현에 대해 살펴보도록 하겠다.

  • 현재 대부분의 무선랜은 유선 분산 시스템을 통하여 백본에 연결되어 있다. 그러나 지역회담이나 재해재난 지역 그리고 군사용등은 유선 백본을 사용할 수 없다. 따라서 무선으로 액세스 포인트를 연결하여 일시적으로 네트워크 서비스를 원하는 곳이나 케이블을 연결하기 힘든 지역에서 빠르고 쉽게 네트워크 구성을 제공하기 위한 무선 메쉬 네트워크의 요구가 늘어나고 있다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 무선 메쉬 네트워크의 기반 기술인 무선 분산 시스템 환경에서 TCP와 UDP 프로토콜의 성능에 대하여 연구하였다. 시스템 성능 측정은 IEEE 802.11g 인터페이스를 가지고 있는 액세스 포인트에서 체인 토폴로지를 기본으로 측정되어졌고, 홉수와 트래픽 종류 그리고 트래픽 흐름의 방향에 따라 수율(throughput)과 전송시간(transaction time) 그리고 전송실패율(loss rate) 등을 비교 분석하였다.
