Hybrid Home Network Prefix Model for Supporting Inter-Technology Handover in Proxy MIPv6 Domains (Proxy MIPv6 도메인에서 Inter-Technology Handover 제공을 위한 Hybrid Home Network Prefix 모델)

  • Recently, with the popularity of smartphones, an interest in multi-networking service through wireless multi-interface of a mobile node is increased. Also, wireless networking technology for using wireless multi-interface has been studied. As the related work, in the IETF Netext WG, the extension of PMIPv6 protocol for multi-interface support is being discussed. Existing PMIPv6 protocol includes the functions for simultaneous access over multi-interfaces of a mobile node and inter-technology handover between multi-interfaces of the mobile node. However, in case of the existing protocol, the problem occurs when inter-technology handover is performed after simultaneous access on the PMIPv6 domain, this problem is the discontinuous of simultaneous connections. Therefore, the PMIPv6 Protocol cannot support flow based multi-homing service. In this paper, as a way to solve the problem, Hybrid Home Network Prefix scheme is proposed.

  • Spurred by the advent of ITS and WAVE (Wireless access in vehicular environments) as well as the wide-spread use of smart phones, WMN technology is considered to be a promising technology for extending the Internet access coverage supported by the IEEE802.11 based access points. In this paper, we propose a new MAC protocol which can efficiently utilize the multi-interface multi-channel communication capabilities supposedly equipped in most mesh routers, thereby increasing the network throughput considerably. We also verified its performance through computer simulations.

  • Mobile contents service providers have some difficulties to timely and proper service deployment due to rapid development cycle of diverse portable devices with different capabilities. A way to resolve the problem is to introduce a mobile contents service paltform that can adapt original mobile contents to diverse devices dynamically and automatically. In this paper, we propose a mobile contents service platform based on active network mechanisms, called Mobile Content Adaptation Network(MobiCAN). The MobiCAN node provides effective service deployment, execution, and maintenance features and accommodates service layering and service customization capabilities for easy deployment. The basic functional units of the MobiCAN node are micro services with well-defined service interfaces and service layering features. For reliable services among the MobiCAN nodes, we design new distributed and robust Overlay Management Protocols(OMPs). As an example of practical MobiCAN applications, we finally describe Dynamic Contents Customization Proxy(DCCP) service.

  • 현대 사회의 무선 서비스 매체로 스마트 폰이 부상되고 있는 가운데 다양한 서비스들이 융복합된 모바일 서비스들이 소개되고 있다. 특히 모바일 SNS (Social Network Service)는 위치 기반으로 실세계 내의 인적 네트워크를 극대화 가능한 서비스로 주목받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 트위터의 Twitter4j OpenAPI를 이용하여 안드로이드 기반의 모바일 SNS와 증강현실 응용 연동 시 효율적 인터페이스를 위하여 CameraPreview기반의 SNS 인터페이스를 구현하였다. 일반적인 브라우저 기반의 SNS와는 달리 구현된 시스템의 인터페이스는 사용자에게 SNS 이용 중 현실 세계에 대한 뷰를 제공함으로 차후 현실세계의 데이터 파싱과 입력 및 실시간적 증강 현실 응용 연동의 가능성을 보여준다.

  • 최근 무선 네트워크를 효율적으로 사용하기 위해서 버티컬 핸드오버의 많은 부분이 연구되고 있다. 멀티 인터페이스를 사용하여 핸드오버를 지원하는 방법으로 멀티호밍등과 같은 연구가 진행되었지만 멀티 인터페이스를 사용하기위해서는 HA(Home Agent)역시 인터페이스의 수 만큼 존재해야한다. 이것은 세션의 유지가 어렵고 서비스의 단절로 인한 연속적인 서비스를 받지 못한다는 것을 의미한다. 본 논문에서는 MN(Mobile Node)은 멀티 인터페이스를 사용하고 CN(Corresponding Node)은 HA 하나의 링크로써 연결되며 MN이 이동함에 따른 멀티 CoA(Care of Address)를 사용하는 방법을 제안한다. 이 방법을 통하여 핸드오버시의 문제가 되는 핸드오버 지연과 손실을 줄일 수 있다. 또한 제안된 방법은 기존의 시스템의 변화 없음으로 적용하기 쉬운 특징이 있다.

  • In this paper, in order to support the construction of a smart home environment of low power consumption, we propose a heterogeneous interface determination engine and architecture. Technology of "smart home" is in the spotlight according to the development of IT technology nowadays. Smart homes are configured with multiple sub-networks, and each sub-network is formed by the smart devices using various communication interfaces. Thus, in the smart home environment, interlocking technology between heterogeneous interfaces is essentially required for supporting communication between different networks. Further, each communication interface is a difference in power consumption, and home smart devices are often operated in 24 hours, especially smart phones and other wireless devices are sensitive to power consumption. Therefore, in order to build a energy efficient home network, It is important to select the appropriate interface to handle traffic depending on the situation. In this paper, we propose "The Heterogeneous Interface Decision Engine and Architecture for constructing of Low Power Home Network," and analyze the performance of the proposed method and verify the validity through experiments on the test bed.

Implementation of CAN-based Visible LED Communication Systems (CAN 기반 LED 가시광 통신 시스템 구현)

  • LED-based lighting motivated by significant energy savings provides an opportunistic development of widespread free-space optical communications. Their transceivers have a variety of competitive advantages over RF including high bandwidth density, reliability, lower energy consumption, and long lifetime. But, it is difficult for existing buildings and structures such as ships and vehicles to install the communication cable to the ceiling. In this paper, controller area network (CAN)-based LED lighting communication systems were proposed. Results indicate the viability of developing inexpensive CAN interface modules and transceivers might be embedded in lighting products to support the indoor wireless networking.

  • This paper presents a fast IP mobility management scheme in heterogeneous networks using the multiple wireless network interlaces. More specifically, in order to minimize the packet loss and handover latency due to handover, the E-HMIPv6, IETF HMIPv6 has been extended, is presented where the multiple tunnels between E-MAP and mobile node are dynamically constructed. E-HMIPv6 is composed of the extension of IETF HMIPv6 MAP, handover procedure, and simultaneous multiple tunnels. In order to demonstrate superior to the proposed method, the NS-2 simulation has done for performance evaluation of TCP and UDP-based application comparison with the existing mobility management method.

  • Wireless network-on-chip (WNoC) can alleviate critical path problem of existing typical NoCs by integrating radio-frequency module on router. In this paper, core-connection-aware genetic algorithm-based core and WIR mapping methodology at small world WNoC is presented. The methodology could optimize the critical path between cores with heavy communication. The 33% of average latency improvement is achieved compared to random mapping methodology.

  • USN은 각종 센서를 이용하여 무선으로 정보를 수집할 수 있도록 구성한 네트워크를 말한다. 센서네트워크 노드를 위하여 설계된 운영체제인 TinyOS에서 제공하는 TOSSIM 시뮬레이터를 이용하면 응용 프로그램을 개발하면서 시뮬레이션을 수행하고, 데이터를 분석하여 문제점을 미리 발견하고 이를 보완할 수 있다. TOSSIM에서는 그래픽 유저 인터페이스를 제공하는 TinyViz와 TOSSIM 스크립트 언어인 Tython을 이용하여 다양한 시뮬레이션이 가능하다. 본 논문에서는 능동적인 시뮬레이션 모델을 제공하기 위하여 Tython 스크립트 언어를 이용하여 TinyViz 플러그인으로서 PeriodicADCPlugin을 설계하였다. PeriodicADCPlugin은 그래픽 유저 인터페이스 상에서 모트들에게 다양한 센서 값을 여러 가지 방법으로 간편하게 입력하는 기능을 제공한다.
