The purpose of this study was to explore the patterns of group model development about blood flow in the heart and reasoning process by small group interaction. The subjects were 14, 8th graders in a Science Gifted Center. The group discussion was made possible by using triggering questions that can be answered based on experiences of hands-on activities such as a siphon pump analogy model activity and a dissection of pigs' hearts. Despite participating in same activities, the groups showed different model development patterns: unchanged, persuasive, and elaborated. Due to the critical revising, the group's explanatory model was elaborated and developed in the added and elaborated pattern. As critical revising is a core element of the developing model, it is important to promote a group interaction so that students become critical and receptive. The pedagogical analogy model and conflict situation enabled students to present elaborated reasoning. The Inquiry activity with the pedagogical analogy model promote students' spontaneous reasoning in relation to direct experience. Therefore offering a pedagogical analogy model will help students evaluate, revise and develop their models of concerned phenomena in science classroom. Conflict situation by rebuttal enable students to justify more solid and elaborate a model close to the target model. Therefore, teachers need to facilitate a group atmosphere for spontaneous conflict situation.

This study examined how specific aspects of epistemic cognition are developed in elementary students during modeling activities, using the Apt-AIR framework. The study focused on a class unit titled 'Shall We Find Out What the Landscape of a Riverside Looks Like?' which is part of the land chapter in the third-grade Korean elementary science curriculum. Ambitious Science Teaching (AST) was applied as a teaching strategy to enhance students' model construction. Seven science classes were conducted in line with the core practices of AST, with 29 elementary school students participating in the study. The classes were organized into four stages: initial model composition, inquiry activity, group model composition-sharing, and final model construction. The class activities at each stage were analyzed using both the AIR model, i.e., epistemic aim and value (A), epistemic ideals (I), and reliable epistemic processes (R), and the multi-faceted framework for epistemic thinking from the Apt-AIR framework. The results of the study revealed that in science classes emphasizing modeling activities based on the core practices of AST, the elementary students progressively developed more sophisticated explanatory models that included causal relationships explaining the topographic differences between the upstream and downstream sections of a river. This result was due to their engagement in constructing initial models to describe phenomena, supplementing the initial models using data collected in the model experiment, and participating in discussions to share and evaluate group models. Additionally, from the perspective of the Apt-AIR framework, the aspects of epistemic cognition demonstrated by the elementary students in their modeling activities were appropriate for engaging with cognitive processes related to epistemic aims and values, epistemic ideals, and reliable processes. The other four aspects of the Apt-AIR framework, however, were not performed as effectively. In particular, the application of reliable epistemic processes for knowledge construction required more improvement.
Software product lines (SPL) are recently an emerging software reuse paradigm, which helps organizations develop their products from reusable core assets rather than from scratch. For developing these assets, understanding commonality and variability (C&V) is essential. A feature-oriented approach has been used extensively for C&V analysis in the SPL. However, this contains no proposal to systematically identify features and provide the rationale for the features. Further, the approach does not directly show how the results of C&V analysis will satisfy an organization's high-level business goals and provide the rationale for the C&V. Therefore, this paper presents a domain analysis method for the SPL based on goals, scenarios, and features in order to overcome some of the deficiencies and limitations of the feature-oriented approach. In particular, the paper proposes a domain requirements model (DRM) and a domain requirements modeling method based on the DRM. This method has been applied to the home integration system (HIS) domain to demonstrate its feasibility with a supporting tool, namely IDEAS. Our approach makes it possible to systematically identify the features and provide the rationale for both the features and the C&V.

There is an increasing need for water supply plan using sustainable groundwater to resolve water shortage problem caused by drought due to climate change and artificial aquifer recharge has recently emerged as an alternative. This study deals with recharge potential assessment for artificial recharge system and quantitative assessment for securing stable water and efficient agricultural water supply adapt to drought finding optimal operating condition by numerical modeling to reflect recharge scenarios considering climate condition, target water intake, injection rate, and injection duration. In order to assess recharge potential of injection well, numerical simulation was performed to predict groundwater level changes in injection and observation well respect to injection scenarios (Case 1~4) for a given total injection rate (10,000 m3). The results indicate that groundwater levels for each case are maintained for 25~42 days and optimal injection rate is 50 m3/day for Case 3 resulted in groundwater level rise less than 1 m below surface. The results also show that influential area of groundwater level rise due to injection was estimated at 113.5 m and groundwater storage and elapsed time were respectively increased by 6 times and 4 times after installation of low permeable barrier. The proposed assessment method can be contributed to sustainable agricultural water supply and stable water security for drought adaptation.

In the fourth industrial-revolution era, the construction industry is transitioning from traditional methods to digital processes. This shift has been challenging owing to the industry's employment of diverse processes and extensive human resources, leading to a gradual adoption of digital technologies through trial and error. One critical area of focus is the safety management at construction sites, which is undergoing significant research and efforts towards digitization and automation. Despite these initiatives, recent statistics indicate a persistent occurrence of accidents and fatalities in construction sites. To address this issue, this study utilizes large-scale language-model artificial intelligence to analyze big data from a construction safety-management information network. The findings are integrated into on-site models, which incorporate real-time updates from detailed design models and are enriched with location information and spatial characteristics, for enhanced safety management. This research aims to develop a big-data-driven safety-management platform to bolster facility and worker safety by digitizing construction-site safety data. This platform can help prevent construction accidents and provide effective education for safety practices.

FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller) is stronger to the disturbance than a classical controller and its overshoot of the intialized value is excellent. In case an unknown process or the mathematical modeling of a complicated system is impossible, a fit control quantity can be acquired by the Fuzzy inference. But FLC can not converge correctly to the desirable value because the FLC's output value by the size of the quantization level of the Fuzzy variable always has a minor error. There are many ways to eliminate the minor error, but I will suggest GA-FLC and EP-FLC Hybrid controller which csombines FLC with GA(Genetic Algorithm) and EP(Evo1ution Programming). In this paper, the output characteristics of this Hybrid controller will be compared and analyzed with those of FLC, it will he showed that this Hybrid controller converge correctly to the desirable value without any error, and !he convergence speed performance of these two kinds of Hyhrid controller also will be compared.
