In the present study, one species of the subfamily Doryctinae, Spathius depressithorax Belokobylskij, 1998, is reported for the first time from Korea. A diagnosis and photographs for the species are provided. Also, a total of 13 species of the genus Spathius Nees, 1819 known from Korea is presented with synonymies and distributional ranges.

A total of 156 species of Pyralidae and 6 species of Thyrididae were recogmzed from the collection of the North Korean materials preserved in Hungarian Natural History Museum. A Among them, 23 species of Pyralidae are reported for the first time from Korean peninsula, a and 8 unnamed species are also included.

전보에서 외국산에 의해 기록된 한반도산 날개응애류 26종과 필자가 채집한 미기록종 29종 도합 65종의 목록을 발표한 바 있다. 그 후의 채집품을 조사결과 다수의 미기록종이 발견되었기에 전보를 증보하여 발표한다. 이로서 한반도산 날개응애류는 29상과, 59과, 99속, 158종이 되었다. 이밖에 미정리분중에도 약 50중의 미기록종이 포함되어 있으므로 한국산 날개응애류는 200여종이 되는 셈이지만 한국에 실재하고 있는 종수는 그 $2\~3$배가 될 것으로 추측된다. 또한 분포를 논할 단계는 아니지만 일본과의 공통종은 69종, 구주와의 공통종은 51종, 3자공통종은 55종이 되어 한반도 고유종은 34종이 된다. 그러나 우리나라와 인접해 있는 중국대륙의 날개응애상이 밝혀지면 고유종은 줄어들고 중국과의 공통종이 많아질 것이다.

This study shows the design and implementation of cataloging expert system using pattern recognition techniques. This system attemps to demonstrate the feasibility of cataloging in KORMARC format from title page and copyright page without the intervention of humans. The prototype was implemented as a rule-based system in Turbo C. To demonstrate the function and capability of the system, experimental document-group and control document-group was analyzed. The hit ratio of experimental document-group is 94%. On the other hand, the hit ratio of control document-group is 93%, a little bit lower than the experimental group.

The purpose of this study was to describe preschoolers' perceptions of fear from their own perspective. Qualitative data from 213 preschoolers 4 to 6 years of age were obtained by semi-structured interviews. The fear inventory was analyzed by content analysis and frequency. The most common fears of preschoolers in this study were fear of ferocious animals and imaginary figures, such as tigers, lions, snakes, spirits and ghosts. Fear of ghosts was the primary fear of both boys and girls. Results showed that most fears were caused by disgust-related visual images. Worry about injury and pain was another common pathway to fear. At-risk preschoolers scored significantly higher than normal preschoolers on fears of criticism and getting an injection.

This paper deals with the improvement of defense codification system for the items of defense supplies. We review other country's codification systems, their concept and trend of the systems for development, and then apply the ideas to our defense codification system. The proposal for improvement of defense codification system consists of three parts. The first one is the aspect of policy, the second one is the aspect of organization, and the last one is the aspect of operation. This paper will be contributed to the development of national codification system, and defense logistics management.

This study presents the list and key to the 8 species of the Subfamily Typhlodrominae from Korea including a newly recorded species, Typhlodromus coryli Wu and Lan, 1991. This subfamily comprises four genera: Kuzinellus Wainstein, Paraseiulus Muma, Galendromus Muma, and Typhlodromus Scheuten.

This paper presents a threat list acquisition method in an engagement area using the support vector machines (SVM). The proposed method consists of track creation, track estimation, track feature extraction, and threat list classification. To classify the threat track robustly, dynamic track estimation and pattern recognition algorithms are used. Dynamic tracks are estimated accurately by approximating a track movement using position, velocity and time. After track estimation, track features are extracted from the track information, and used to classify threat list. Experimental results showed that the threat list acquisition method in the engagement area achieved about 95 % accuracy rate for whole test tracks when using the SVM classifier. In case of improving the real-time process through further studies, it can be expected to apply the fire control systems.

A checklist of snake eels (Ophichthidae) from Korea is presented including information, such as synonyms, distribution, occurrence records and key to species of 7 genera and 14 species. Also, we suggest change of the Korean names for the snake eels (Ophichthidae) "Ba-da-baem-gwa" to "Ba-da-baem-jang-eo-gwa", and it's members, because Korean names of snake eels (Ophichthidae) is similar to those of sea snake (Hydridae).
