한국목록규칙 제4판 초안의 (지도자료)를 위한 목록 규칙을 분석하고 그 내용을 AACR2R(1998), NCR, 그리고 ISBD에서의 해당 목록 규칙들과 비교·분석한 뒤, 더욱 효율적인 지도자료 조직을 위한 한국목록규칙 제4판 초안의 수정안들을 제시하였다.

The goal of this paper is mainly to review and summarize the theory of cataloging. This artical reviews the theortical background of cataloging. First, the objectives and function of the library catalog was analyzed. Second, According to this methodology was researched the Cutter's theory of 'convenience of the public' on the cataloging, Osborn's 'the Crisis of Cataloging' (legalist theory of cataloging, perfectionism theory bibliographic theory and pragmatic theory) and Lubetzky's the theory of 'Cataloging Rules and Principles' and the last Houten' s 'In the Iron Age of Cataloging' theory.

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the current and overall situation of cataloging ecosystem focusing on the interrelationship between traditional library and social cataloging site cataloging. For this, an extensive research and analysis was conducted concerning comparative analysis on cataloging rules of the library and social cataloging. As a result, not only the similarity and difference but also interrelationship between library and social cataloging was analyzed in detail. In addition, the characteristics of the cataloging rules were analyzed by the stage of cataloging in the library and the social cataloging environment. This study provides implications for mutual understanding and cooperation between library and social cataloging. The result may have significant meaning in prospecting cataloging ecosystem and planning further study on facilitating interaction and leading knowledge organization development.

본 연구는 새롭게 제정된 한국목록규칙 4판 초안 중에 고서목록규칙의 내용을 분석하여 수정이 요구되는 부분의 발견과 그 대안을 모색함으로써 한국목록규칙이 도서관 현장의 자료조직과정에서 보다 효율적으로 사용되는데 일조하기 위하여 작성되었다. 그 결과 보완되어야 할 사항과 11개의 수정이 요구되는 사항을 제시하였다.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the distinctiveness and problem areas in cataloging rules of printed music. In this study, therefore, the characteristics, kinds, and cataloging rules related to a printed music are examined first as the backgrounds. Then the sources of information, title and general material designation, musical representation statement, publication.distribution.etc., physical description, notes, etc. in ISBD(PM), Chapter 5 Music of AACR2R 2002 Revision 2004 Update, and Chapter 5 Music of KCR4 are analyzed. And also printed music parts in Bibliographic Data of KORMARC and MARC21 are analyzed. Finally, the special issues and some problems to be considered in cataloging of printed music in KCR4 are presented.

The purpose of this study is to analyze high school students' understanding and use of the recommended books lists. The survey distributed to high school students in seven high schools located in Seoul, and 311 students responded. Using SPSS 24, the data was analyzed by frequency, binary logistic model, and one-way ANOVA. Results show the followings. First, the meaningful factors affecting students' use of recommended books lists are gender, grade levels, and the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the books that are suitable and interesting. Particularly, the degree to which students think recommended books lists include the suitable books for them is the strong factor affecting students' use of the recommended books lists. Second, male students are less likely to use recommended books lists than female students. Male students consistently are less likely to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subject teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations. Third, teacher-librarians believed that the recommended books lists would help students who do not enjoy reading and have difficulties in reading. However, the study finds that students who enjoy reading and read well are more willing to use the recommended books lists made by school librarians, subjects teachers, and reading experts and/or organizations than those who do not. Fourth, students are most willing to use the recommended books lists for college preparation. The findings suggest the further research topics in designing the recommended books lists suitable for high school students and in scaffolding the high school students' use of book information reflected in recommended books lists.

In this study in order to verify the overall information seeking behavior of the Web-based OPAC users, it was analyzed transaction log file for 7 years. Regarding Web-based OPAC information seeking behavior, it was studied from the perspective of information seeking strategy and information seeking failure. In search strategy, it was analyzed search type, search options, Boolean operator, length of search text, number of uses of word, number of use Web-based OPAC, number of use by time, by week day. Also, in search failure, search failure ratio, search failure ratio by search options, search failure ratio by Boolean operator were analyzed. The result of this study is expected to be utilized for OPAC system and service improvement in the future.

This study surveyed the online catalog retrieval systems of the university libraries in Busan, Ulsan, Gyeongnam districts. The types of library materials, and the kinds of access points and retrieval conditions(Boolean logic, methods of index term Identification, and particularities of the retrieval) of these systems are various and different to each other Upon the result of this survey a suggestion for the standardization of online catalog retrieval systems is offered.

This study was for suggesting the test methods in the revision process of the cataloging rules to understand the problem of draft cataloging rules and to apply the new cataloging rules correctly in libraries instead of collecting the opinions by the traditional seminar and conference in the process of revising KCR, KCR2, KCR3, KCR4. For this study, the literature review and the case study were used as the research methods. The case study was based on the US RDA Test by US RDA Test Coordinating Committee. The evaluation areas of the test were cataloging rules, record creation and system development by reflecting the new cataloging rules, user, and cost. The data for the analysis was the creation of bibliographic records and authority records by librarians, and the question investigations that were the use of institutions, librarians, and users. This study would contribute to revise the cataloging rules in future by analyzing the errors of applying new rules to bibliographic record and by investigating the difficulties of applying rules in completing the bibliographic record. Also, the libraries could be easy to decide to implement the new rules from the creation time of bibliographic record by new rules and the learning curve of new rules.

본고에서는 한국목록규칙 제4판 초안에 있어서, 제8장 "정지화상자료"의 목록규칙을 분석하고자 한다. 이를 위해, International Standard Bibliographic Description for Non-Book Materials(1987), Anglo-American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd ed. (1998), 그리고 일본목록규칙(1994)을 중심으로 비교하였다. 이에, 다양한 형태를 띄고 있는 정지화상자료에 있어서, KCR 4판의 "정지화상자료" 목록규칙이 목록규칙 사용자나 자료를 찾는 이용자로 하여금 편리하게 이용할 수 있도록 서지사항을 일관성있게 규정되어 있는지에 관하여 분석해 보고자 한다. 그리하여 초안을 더 수정·보완하여, KCR 4판을 발행하는데 있어서 조금이나마 도움이 되고자 한다.
