Structural Characteristics Analysis of a High-Speed Horizontal Machining Center with Built-in Motor and Linear Motors (냉장형 모터와 리니어 모터를 적용한 초고속 수평형 머시닝센터의 구조 특성 해석)

  • This paper presents the structural characteristics analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50, 000rpm and feedrate of 120m/min. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motor and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guide. The structural analysis model of the high-speed horizontal machining center is constructed by the finite element method, and the validity of structural design is estimated based on the structural deformation of the high-speed horizontal machining center and spindle nose caused by the gravity and inertia forces.

  • 계면활성제는 모터오일, 제약, 비누, 세제 등의 용도가 다양한 화학 제품 중 하나이다. 계면활성제는 비극성의 긴 탄화수소 체인으로 이루어진 꼬리(tail)부분과 보통은 이온으로 이루어진 극성을 띄는 머리(head)부분으로 구성되어있다. 보통 계면활성제를 나타낼 때는 fig. 1의 성냥개비와 같은 모형으로 표시하는 경우가 많다. 머리부분이 친수기를 나타내고, 꼬리부분이 친유기를 나타낸다.   • Turbocharging is widely used in diesel and gasoline engines as an effective way to reduce fuel consumption. But turbochargers have turbo-lag due to mechanical friction losses. Bearing friction losses are a major cause of mechanical friction losses and are particularly intensified in the lower speed range of the engine. Current turbochargers mostly use oil bearings (two journal bearings and one thrust bearing). In this study, we focus on the bearing friction in the lower speed range. Experimental equipment was made using a drive motor, load cell, magnetic coupling, and oil control system. We measured the friction losses of the turbocharger while considering the influence of the rotation speed, oil temperature, and pressure. The friction power losses increased exponentially when the turbocharger speed increased.

  • This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50,000rpm and feedrate of 120m/fin. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motors and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guides. The thermal characteristics such as the temperature distribution, temperature rise, thermal deformation and step response, are estimated based on the finite element model of machining center and the heat generation rates of heat sources related to the machine operation conditions. Especially, the thermal time constant assessed from the step response function is introduced as an index of thermal response characteristics.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of a domestic developed hydraulic axial piston motor. An experimental apparatus was constructed and the output torque, the input oil pressure, the input flow rate, the speed of motor and oil temperature were measured. They were measured under both no load and load conditions. The results are as follows; 1. Motion of motor became steady state conditions after 5 seconds. 2. Output torque of motor was proportional to input oil pressure under both load and unload. 3. Speed of motor decreased with increasing load. 4. Oil temperature was almost constant. The results of this study will offer the basic data in designing and operating hydraulic axial piston motors.

VHVI BASE OILS (윤활연구 - 초고점도지수 윤활기유)

  • VHVI 수첨분해 기유는 자동차와 산업분야에서 시장을 형성하고 있다. VHVI 기유에 대한 응용분야로 큰 시장으로서 산업용 초 고점도지수 유압작동유로의 응용분야가 있긴 하지만 본고에서는 모터오일에 집중하여 설명하였다. 고점도지수 유압작동유는 현재 전통적인 파라핀계 기유에 점도지수 향상제로서 배합, 제조되고 있다. BP사와 Shell사는 윤활유 시장에 VHVI를 배합하여 제조된 이런 유형의 제품을 시판하고 있다. 이런 경우에 초 고점도지수 윤활기유의 사용으로 한가지 잇점을 찾을 수 있다. 생산 원가에 있어서의 제한된 상승에 기인하여 마찰안정도를 향상시키기 위한 점도지수 향상제의 사용에 있어서의 한계가 있다는 점이다. 과연 정말로 Union-Fuchs사는 이런 형태의 응용목적을 위한 분야의 대부분의 그들의 제품에 이러한 VHVI기유를 사용하고 있다. VHVI기유의 다른 분야로의 응용은 기술적으로 관심은 있으나 그 시장점유율이 매우 낮다. VHVI기유의 주된 생산자인 Shell사와 BP사는 최근 경쟁 윤활유 제조사에 이 VHVI기유를 제공, 공급하고 있다. 이것은 확립된 합성유 시장에 대한 도전이 될것으로 사료되며 도전이 되어야 한다.

Development of Load apparatus for Motor (모터 부하시험을 위한 부하인가 장치 개발)

  • We have constructed loading apparatuses to electrical motor with a powder brake and a oil pump for load test of a several ten kilowatt-motor and performed load test with two motors. On operating the loading apparatus with a oil pump, temperature of the oil may excessively increase and fail to operate due to dynamic energy loss of equipment in oil loop. In order to control the oil temperature, factors of the energy loss were analyzed and the quantitative loss was calculated. Load tests of motors with two loading apparatuses constructed were successfully performed and strengths of each apparatus come out on operating.
