Image Reconstruction using Modified Iterative Landweber Method in Electrical Impedance Tomography (전기 임피던스 단층촬영법에서 수정된 반복 Landweber 방법을 이용한 영상 복원)

  • Electrical impedance tomography is a relatively new imaging modality in which the internal conductivity (or resistivity) distribution of a object is reconstructed based on the injected currents and measured voltages through the electrodes placed on the surface of the object. In this paper, it is assumed that the relationship between the resistivity distribution and the resistance of electrodes is linear. From this linear relation, the weighting matrix can be obtained and modified iterative Landweber method is applied to estimate the internal resistivity distribution. Additionally, to accelerate the convergence rate and improve the spatial resolution of the reconstructed image, optimal step lengths for the iterative Landweber method are computed from the objective function in the least-square sense. The numerical experiments have been performed to illustrate the superior reconstruction performance of the proposed scheme.

  • 최근 음성인식의 인식 단위로서 문맥의존 음향 모델이 널리 사용되고 있다. 이는 음소의 음향학적 특징, 즉 선행 및 후행음소에 의한 중심 음소의 변이음 모델이 문맥독립 모델보다 좀 더 정확하게 모델링 될 수 있기 때문이다. 하지만 강건한 문맥의존 음향 모델을 작성하기 위해서는 모델 파라미터의 병합(tying)과 미지의 문맥(unseen context)의 처리를 위한 좀더 정교한 해결 방법이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 이점을 고려하여 음향학적 특징과 언어학적 특징을 결합하여 상태 분할을 수행할 수 있도록 SSS(Successive State Splitting) 알고리즘의 문맥 방향 상태 분할에 음소결정트리를 접목한 HM-Net(Hidden Markov Network) 구조 결정법을 도입하였다. 또한 HM-Net은 연속적인 상태 분할에 의해 한국어에서 많이 발생하는 변이음들을 효과적으로 모델링 할 수 있다는 점을 고려하여 본 연구실에서 기존에 사용하던 48 유사음소 단위에서 문맥의존 음향 모델 작성에 불필요한 변이음을 제거하여 39 유사음소 단위를 재 정의하였다. 도입한 방법과 새로 정의한 유사음소 단위의 유효성을 확인하기 위해 고립 단어, 4연속 숫자음, 연속 음성인식에 대해 인식 실험을 수행한 결과, 모든 실험에서 재 정의한 39 유사음소 단위가 문맥종속형 HM-Net 음향모델을 이용한 한국어 음성인식에 효과적임을 확인할 수 있었다. 특히 연속 음성인식 실험의 경우, 기존의 48 유사음소 단위보다 평균 $15.08\%$의 인식률 향상이 있었다.

An Implementation of Integrated System for Topographic and Cadastral Data (지형 및 지적자료의 통합체계 구축)

  • With the increasing needs for the integrated use of topographic and cadastral data in order to build an efficient geo-spatial information system. it is urgently necessary to research into its solution. The intention of this study is to detect error types of data and to propose adjustment methods for solving the problems caused by integrating topographic and cadastral data. For this purpose a primary integrated data model is created to link attribute data(land management system) and graphic data within cadastral information in the first step. In next, a secondary integrated data model based on the improved method is formed to coincide the graphic data of cadastral map with that of topographic map. At the first, because a numerous error types md sources caused by separate management of graphic and attribute data are easily checked, it is possible to suggest an improved method to correct these errors using the primary integrated data model. In addition, the accuracy in position and area with coordinate transformation method based on multi-block adjustment is more efficient than rubber-sheeting method. As a result, the secondary integrated data model could be built by harmonizing cadastral map with topographic map using the improved solution.

An Efficient Algorithm for Similarity Search in Large Biosequence Database (대용량 유전체를 위한 효율적인 유사성 검색 알고리즘)

  • Since the size of biosequence database grows exponentially every year, it becomes impractical to use Smith-Waterman algorithm for exact sequence similarity search. For fast sequence similarity search, researchers have been proposed heuristic methods that use the frequency of characters in subsequences. These methods have the defect that different sequences are treated as the same sequence. Because of using only the frequency of characters, the accuracy of these methods are lower than Smith-Waterman algorithm. In this paper, we propose an algorithm which processes query efficiently by indexing the frequency of characters including the positional information of characters in subsequences. The experiments show that our algorithm improve the accuracy of sequence similarity search approximately 5${\sim}$20% than heuristic algorithms using only the frequency of characters.

  • It was recommended for all ship engaged in international voyages to carry the Satellite Emergency position Indicating Radio Beacon according to Global Maritime Distress & Safety System but also it is tending to be diffused to require the satellite EPIRB installed in small vessel such as a fishery boat by domestic regulations of each countries. Otherwise the domestic regulation can't evaluate exactly the compatibility with the satellite system and the performance of the equipment itself required by international regulation. And even if it is required the performing of the performance inspection in accordance with international regulation, it is difficult to grasp the characteristics of equipment by a generalized measuring equipment. Hence this study performed the measurement for the matters related with an wave forms, modulation characteristics, frequency and the power, etc through the design and implementation of the test bench capable of ensuring most of test items regulated by international regulation. Through this study, it has been paved the way being capable of preparation of the standard regarding to transmission repetition period, phase variation and frequency stability related with the system compatibility and in conclusion, it is enable to improve the performance of a main distress communication equipment directly connected with the life of a survivor.

  • 최근 GIS를 이용하여 수리 수문학적인 지형인자를 생성할 수 있는 Arc Hydro 등의 다양한 GIS 기반 툴들이 개발되어 왔다. 예를 들어 Arc Hydro는 격자형 고도자료인 수치표고모델(Digital Elevation Model)을 통해 수자원에서 필요로 하는 유로연장, 유역경사 등의 지형인자를 산정할 수 있는 기능을 제공해 주고 있다. 하지만 기존의 GIS 기반 툴에서는 Manning의 평균유속 공식 등 하천수리학에서 매우 중요한 인자인 하천경사를 하천망을 따라 산정하고 표출하는 기능이 부족하였다. 또한 하천경사 산정에 사용되는 여러 GIS 툴을 통해서 제공되는 셀 경사 등 지형인자들의 기계적인 적용으로 정확한 하천경사의 산정에 문제가 있어왔다. 본 논문은 이러한 지형인자들의 적용성을 평가하고 다양한 이론적 하천경사 산정법을 GIS 상에 적용하여 상호 비교하여 최적화된 하천경사 산정방법을 제시하고자 한다. 연구 대상유역으로는 제주도를 선정하였으며, 대상 하천은 Arc Hydro를 이용하여 산정된 하천망의 형태를 수자원관리정보시스템(WAMIS), 위성사진 등과 비교한 후 시범 하천(한천)을 선택하여 여러 하천경사 산정법을 적용해 보았다. 적용된 산정법은 총 4가지로 첫 번째 방법은 수치표고모델의 주변 표고를 고려하여 산정된 기울기를 Arc Hydro를 이용하여 산정된 하천을 따라 산술평균하는 방법이며, 나머지 3가지 방법은 하천망을 따라 흐름방향의 거리와 수치표고모델의 표고를 수집한 후에 단순경사방법, 등면적경사방법, 등가경사방법에 적용하는 방법이다. 산정된 하천경사를 상대비교를 하여 대상유역에 대한 비교검토를 실시하였다. 모든 과정은 프로그램 개발을 통해 자동화 시켜 향후 다른 유역의 적용과 변화 가능한 지형정보를 신속하고 효율적인 예측을 가능할 수 있도록 하였다. 또한 주어진 하천망의 두 지점 사이의 종방향 경사를 산정하여 표출하는 기능을 추가하여 하천 경사의 표출방식을 향상시켰다. GIS를 이용하여 산정되어진 하천경사의 적용성이 충분하다면 Manning의 평균유속 공식에 적용할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 다양한 하천분석이 용이해 질 것으로 예상된다.

MRF-based Iterative Class-Modification in Boundary (MRF 기반 반복적 경계지역내 분류수정)

  • This paper proposes to improve the results of image classification with spatial region growing segmentation by using an MRF-based classifier. The proposed approach is to re-classify the pixels in the boundary area, which have high probability of having classification error. The MRF-based classifier performs iteratively classification using the class parameters estimated from the region growing segmentation scheme. The proposed method has been evaluated using simulated data, and the experiment shows that it improve the classification results. But, conventional MRF-based techniques may yield incorrect results of classification for remotely-sensed images acquired over the ground area where has complicated types of land-use. A multistage MRF-based iterative class-modification in boundary is proposed to alleviate difficulty in classifying intricate land-cover. It has applied to remotely-sensed images collected on the Korean peninsula. The results show that the multistage scheme can produce a spatially smooth class-map with a more distinctive configuration of the classes and also preserve detailed features in the map.

Implementation of a Machine Learning-based Recommender System for Preventing the University Students' Dropout (대학생 중도탈락 예방을 위한 기계 학습 기반 추천 시스템 구현 방안)

  • This study proposed an effective automatic classification technique to identify dropout patterns of university students, and based on this, an intelligent recommender system to prevent dropouts. To this end, 1) a data processing method to improve the performance of machine learning was proposed based on actual enrollment/dropout data of university students, and 2) performance comparison experiments were conducted using five types of machine learning algorithms. 3) As a result of the experiment, the proposed method showed superior performance in all algorithms compared to the baseline method. The precision rate of discrimination of enrolled students was measured to be up to 95.6% when using a Random Forest(RF), and the recall rate of dropout students was measured to be up to 80.0% when using Naive Bayes(NB). 4) Finally, based on the experimental results, a method for using a counseling recommender system to give priority to students who are likely to drop out was suggested. It was confirmed that reasonable decision-making can be conducted through convergence research that utilizes technologies in the IT field to solve the educational issues, and we plan to apply various artificial intelligence technologies through continuous research in the future.

  • The growth in smartphone service has given rise to an increase in frequency and importance of authentication. Existing smartphone authentication mechanisms such as passwords, pattern lock and fingerprint recognition require a high level of awareness and authenticate users temporarily with a point-of-entry techniques. To overcome these disadvantages, there have been active researches in behavior-based authentication. However, previous studies focused on enhancing the accuracy of the authentication. Since authentication is directly used by people, it is necessary to reflect actual users' perception. This paper proposes user perception on behavior-based authentication with feature analysis. We conduct user survey to empirically understand user perception regarding behavioral authentication with selected authentication features. Then, we analyze acceptance of the behavioral authentication to provide continuous authentication with minimal awareness while using the device.

Wideband Jamming Signal Remove Using Adaptive Array Algorithm (적응배열 알고리즘을 이용한 광대역 재밍 신호 제거)

  • In this paper, we proposed an algorithm to estimate the desired target in wideband jamming signal environment. In order to suppress the jamming signal, we use the spatial time adaptive algorithm and QR decomposition to obtain the optimal weight. The spatial time adaptive algorithm of adaptive array antenna system multiplies the tap delay signal by a complex weight to obtain a weight. In order to minimize the power consumption because of the inverse matrix, optimal weight is obtained by using QR decomposition. Through simulation, we compare and analyze the performance of the proposed algorithm and the existing algorithm. In the target estimation of [-40o,0o,+40o], the proposed algorithm estimated all three targets, but the existing algorithm estimated only [0o] due to of the jamming signal. We prove that the proposed algorithm improves performance by removing the jamming signal and estimating the target accurately.
