A New Sampling Frequency Offset Estimation Algorithm Using a Single OFDM Symbol (단일 OFDM 심볼을 이용한 샘플링 주파수 옵셋 추정 기법)

  • In OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) system, sampling frequency offset causes performance degradation due to increase of ICI. Sampling frequency offset can be generally estimated by correlation of the pilot signal or the known pattern within two contiguous OFDM symbol however, this method has the throughput degradation and the difficulty in applying to various OFDM systems. In this paper, we propose a new algorithm for sampling frequency offset estimation which can solve aforementioned issues. The proposed algorithm uses a single OFDM symbol to prevent throughput degradation and to apply to various OFDM-based communication systems flexibly Also, the proposed algorithm can enhance reliability by observing more number of correlations compared to the established algorithm in frequency domain. Extensive computer simulation shows that the proposed algorithm can improve the system performance in various channel conditions.

Adaptive Beamforming Technique of Eigen-space Smart Antenna System (고유공간 스마트 안테나 시스템의 적응 빔형성 기술)

  • This paper presents a new technique that enhances the performance of the smart antenna system especially in signal environments of wide angular spread by adopting a weight vector obtained from two eigenvectors of theautocovariance matrix of the received data. While the conventional beamformingtechnique employs only one eigenvector corresponding to the largest eigenvalue, the proposed algorithm uses two eigenvectors corresponding to the largest and second largest eigenvalue in such a way that it can be robust enough to the signal environments of wide angular spread. An efficient adaptive procedure is shown to verify that the optimal weight vector consisting of the two eigenvectors is obtained with a reasonable complexity(3.5$N_2$+ 12N) and accuracy. it is also shown in this paper that the numerical results obtained from the proposed adaptive procedure well agree with those obtained from a commercial tool computing the eigen-function of MATLABTM.

  • 본 논문은 다양한 형태의 웹 문서에 적용하기 위해서, 언어의 통계정보 및 후처리 규칙에 기반 하여 개선된 문장경계 인식 기술을 제안한다. 제안한 방법은 구두점 생략 및 띄어쓰기 오류가 빈번한 웹 문서에 적용하기 위해서 문장경계로 사용될 수 있는 모든 음절을 대상으로 학습하여 문장경계 인식을 수행하였고, 문장경계인식 성능을 최대화 하기 위해서 다양한 실험을 통해 최적의 자질 및 학습데이터를 선정하였고, 다양한 기계학습 기반 분류 모델을 비교하여 최적의 분류모델을 선택하였으며, 학습데이터에 의존적인 통계모델의 오류를 규칙에 기반 해서 보정하였다. 성능 실험은 다양한 형태의 문서별 성능 측정을 위해서 문어체와 구어체가 복합적으로 사용된 신문기사와 블로그 문서(평가셋1), 문어체 위주로 구성된 세종말뭉치와 백과사전 본문(평가셋2), 구두점 생략 및 띄어쓰기 오류가 빈번한 웹 사이트의 게시판 글(평가셋3)을 대상으로 성능 측정을 하였다. 성능척도로는 F-measure를 사용하였으며, 구두점만을 대상으로 문장경계 인식 성능을 평가한 결과, 평가셋1에서는 96.5%, 평가셋2에서는 99.4%를 보였는데, 구어체의 문장경계인식이 더 어려움을 알 수 있었다. 평가셋1의 경우에도 규칙으로 후처리한 경우 정확률이 92.1%에서 99.4%로 올라갔으며, 이를 통해 후처리 규칙의 필요성을 알 수 있었다. 최종 성능평가로는 구두점만을 대상으로 학습된 기본 엔진과 모든 문장경계후보를 인식하도록 개선된 엔진을 평가셋3을 사용하여 비교 평가하였고, 기본 엔진(61.1%)에 비해서 개선된 엔진이 32.0% 성능 향상이 있음을 확인함으로써 제안한 방법이 웹 문서에 효과적임을 입증하였다.

  • This work describes an 8b 200 MHz 0.18 urn CMOS analog-to-digital converter (ADC) based on a pipelined architecture for flat panel display applications. The proposed ABC employs an improved bootstrapping technique to obtain wider input bandwidth than the sampling tate of 200 MHz. The bootstrapuing technique improves the accuracy of the input sample-and-hold amplifier (SHA) and the fast fourier transform (FFT) analysis of the SHA outputs shows the 7.2 effective number of bits with an input sinusoidal wave frequency of 500 MHz and the sampling clock of 200 MHz at a 1.7 V supply voltage. Merged-capacitor switching (MCS) technique increases the sampling rate of the ADC by reducing the number of capacitors required in conventional ADC's by 50 % and minimizes chip area simultaneously. The simulated ADC in a 0.18 um n-well single-poly quad-metal CMOS technology shows an 8b resolution and a 73 mW power dissipation at a 200 MHz sampling clock and a 1.7 V supply voltage.

$H_{\infty}$ Filter Based Robust Simultaneous Localization and Mapping for Mobile Robots (이동로봇을 위한 $H_{\infty}$ 필터 기반의 강인한 동시 위치인식 및 지도작성 구현 기술)

  • The most basic algorithm in SLAM(Simultaneous Localization And Mapping) technique of mobile robots is EKF(Extended Kalman Filter) SLAM. However, it requires prior information of characteristics of the system and the noise model which cannot be estimated in accurate. By this limit, Kalman Filter shows the following behaviors in a highly uncertain environment: becomes too sensitive to internal parameters, mathematical consistency is not kept, or yields a wrong estimation result. In contrast, $H_{\infty}$ filter does not requires a prior information in detail. Thus, based on a idea that $H_{\infty}$ filter based SLAM will be more robust than the EKF-SLAM, we propose a framework of $H_{\infty}$ filter based SLAM and show that suggested algorithm shows slightly better result man me EKF-SLAM in a highly uncertain environment.

The Performance Evaluation of Forward Link of CDMA System Adopting Closed-loop Transmit Beamforming with Feedback Channel Structure (폐쇄 루프 송신 빔 성형을 적용한 CDMA 시스템의 귀환 채널 구조에 따른 순방향 링크 성능 연구)

  • 본 논문에서는 이동국 수신 신호의 SINR을 최대화하는 빔 성형 알고리듬을 이용하여, 폐쇄 루프 송신 빔 성형기술을 적용한 순방향 링크 CDMA 시스템에서의 안테나 수, 귀환 채널의 구조, 귀환 지연 등과 시스템 성능과의 상관관계를 연구하였다. 폐쇄 루프 전송 빔 성형에서는 이동국이 각 안테나가 겪는 채널을 추정하여 수신 SINR을 최대화시키는 가중치 벡터를 계산하고, 귀환채널을 통해 가중치 벡터의 양자화된 진폭과 위상정보를 전송한다. 컴퓨터 모의 실험 결과는 송신 안테나가 2개, 3개, 4개로 늘어남에 따라 빔 성형 이득은 단일 송신 안테나와 비교해 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 4.2dB, 5.8dB, 7dB로 증가하지만 양자화 오류에 의한 성능 저하 또한 0.1dB, 0.6dB, 1.3dB로 커지는 것을 보여준다. 또한 순방향 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 100Hz일 때에는 귀환 채널을 통한 소신 가중치 벡터를 보다 빠르게 갱신하는 것이 가중치 벡터의 양자화 레벨의 수를 늘여주는 것보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 0.6dB 더 좋은 성능을 보이며, 최대 도플러 주파수가 10Hz일 때에는 가중치 벡터의 갱신 속도를 늘이기 보다 양자화 레벨의 수를 늘여주어 정확한 가중치 벡터를 전송하는 편이 0.9dB의 성능 향상을 보인다. 두 전력제어 그룹 길이의 귀환지연으로 인한 성능저하는 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 50Hz인 경우가 채널의 최대 도플러 주파수가 100Hz인 경우보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 0.3dB 정도 더 작다. 또한 AOS가 3$^{\circ}$인 경우가 AOS가 $10^{\circ}$인 경우보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 1.9dB 정도, 주파수 선택적 페이딩 채널이 주파수 비선택적 페이딩 채널보다 $10^{-5}$ BER 근방에서 1dB 정도 귀환 지연으로 인한 성능의 저하가 작다.

Performance Evaluation of Channel Estimation and Interference Cancellation Techniques for Multiuser with Transmitter Diversity System (송신 다이버시티를 가진 다중 사용자 시스템에서 채널 추정 및 간섭 제거 기법들의 성능 평가)

  • Space-Time Block Code(STBC) provides full diversity gains with simple linear processing at the receiver. Interference Cancellation(IC) techniques in system using STBC improve the capacity and performance of wireless systems with co-channel users. Various IC techniques, Minimum Mean-Squared Error(MMSE) and Zero-Forcing(ZF) algorithms in system with STBC were proposed in the literatures in multiuser environment. The performance of these IC techniques were simulated by assuming perfect channel state information(CSI) of multiuser at the receiver. However, in practice it is difficult to know perfect CSI of multiuser at the receiver. Thus, channel estimation scheme is essential at the receiver. Also SNR estimation scheme is required to operate the MMSE IC algorithm. In this paper, we present estimation schemes of CSI and SNR using training sequences. Through extensive computer simulation, we compare and evaluate the performance of IC techniques using the proposed CSI and SNR estimation techniques.

  • The value of Environment is so high and important that no one can estimate it correctly. In the area of Logistics, Environment protection is very important and keen subject for the present and for the future of this country and people. Environmental logistics, similarly used as Green logistics, means the protection of Nature and Environment and reduces all kinds of factors and behaviors that may destroy and deteriorate current Environment. It also include the preservation of Nature and sustainable development. Environmental logistics aims to save natural resources and to promote reuse of all kinds of materials and to increase the utilization of Environment friendly substitute goods. In this paper the concept and characteristics of Environmental logistics were summarized and described. Also the main previous studies were surveyed. Some of important cases and experiences which were introduced and applied in major countries such as Japan, Hongkong, USA and the case of PHILIPS were summarized and analyzed. With these cases and analysis, this paper suggested some alternatives and countermeasures for the improvement of Environmental logistics in terms of 3 dimensions such as Country, Company and Individual level. And a strategy model for enhancement of the Environmental logistics was suggested and limitations of this paper and future research directions were described.

Texture Classification Algorithm for Patch-based Image Processing (패치 기반 영상처리를 위한 텍스쳐 분류 알고리즘)

  • The local binary pattern (LBP) scheme that is one of the texture classification methods normally uses the distribution of flat, edge and corner patterns. However, it cannot examine the edge direction and the pixel difference because it is a sort of binary pattern caused by thresholding. Furthermore, since it cannot consider the pixel distribution, it shows lower performance as the image size becomes larger. In order to solve this problem, we propose a sub-classification method using the edge direction distribution and eigen-matrix. The proposed sub-classification is applied to the particular texture patches which cannot be classified by LBP. First, we quantize the edge direction and compute its distribution. Second, we calculate the distribution of the largest value among eigenvalues derived from structure matrix. Simulation results show that the proposed method provides a higher classification performance of about 8 % than the existing method.

  • This paper shows linkage management for external services. There are many services for specific entities such as DBLP and OntoWorld. OntoFrame, as a Semantic Web-based research information service portal, aims at one-stop service in ways that it connects external services with hyperlinks. For managing the linkage, linkage rules are manually edited by human administrators and automatically verified and tested by linkage management system. It consists of linkage rule management, linkage rule verification, linkage test, and dynamic link generation. Linkage rule management creates and edits linkage rules to connect external services on the Web. After finished rule editing and verification step, linkage management invokes linkage test with entity list. Only valid links are visible to enable users to click on our system, and thus it increases user's reliability on the system.
