Comparison of Three Preservice Elementary School Teachers' Simulation Teaching in Terms of Data-text Transforming Discourses (Data-Text 변형 담화의 측면에서 본 세 초등 예비교사의 모의수업 시연 사례의 비교)

  • This study investigated the aspects of how three preservice elementary school teachers conducted the data-text transforming discourses in their science simulation teaching and how their epistemological conversations worked for learners' construction of scientific knowledge. Three preservice teachers, who had presented simulation teaching on the seasonal change of constellations, participated in the study. The results revealed that one preservice teacher, who had implemented the transforming discourses of data-to-evidence and model-to-explanation, appeared to facilitate learners' knowledge construction. The other two preservice teachers had difficulty helping learners construct science knowledge due to their lack of transforming discourses. What we should consider for improving preservice elementary school teachers' teaching competencies was discussed based on a detailed comparison of three cases of preservice teachers' data-text transforming.

레이저 조사에 의한 endotracheal tubes의 안정성에 대한 연구

  • 레이저를 이용한 구강 및 인후두 수술시 endotracheal tubes의 손상은 치명적이라 아니 할 수 없다. 이에 저자들은 여러 가지 endotracheal tube를 실험 재료로 사용하여 보다 안전한 레이저 수술을 위해서 적절한 endotracheal tube를 찾기 위해 본 실험을 시행하였다. 실험에 사용된 tube는 총 5가지 - $Bivona^{TM}$, Xomed Laser Shield $II^{TM}$, Mallinckrodt Laser-$Flex^{TM}$, Rusch tube wrapped with aluminium foil tape(Rusch tube), Polyvinylchloride tube wrapped with aluminium foil tape(PVC tube) - 가 사용되었다. 사용된 레이저는 KTP/532 와 $CO_2$ laser 이며 모든 실험에서 tube를 $FiO_2$ 95%-98% 상태에서 조사하여 각각 5회씩 실시하였다. tube에 이상이 없거나 발화가 되지 않는 한 90초 동안 시행하였다. 실험 결과, KTP/532 조사시 $Bivona^{TM}$, Mallinckrodt 와 PVC tube는 심한 손상을 받거나 발화하였으며 Xomed 와 Rusch tube는 안정된 상태를 유지하였고 $CO_2$ Laser 조사시는 KTP/532 조사시와 유사한 결과를 얻었다. 한편 혈액을 endotracheal tube에 도포한 상황에서는 모든 tube가 더 심한 손상을 보이는 바 KTP/532 조사시 Xomed는 상당히 안정된 상태를 유지하였고 나머지 tube는 심한 손상 또는 발화를 보이고 $CO_2$ Laser 조사시 $Bivona^{TM}$ 와 Mallinckrodt는 발화하였고 Rusch tube는 표면이 녹았으며 Xomed와 PVC tube도 1례에서 발화하였다. 향후 이비인후과 영역에서의 레이저 수술이 증가함을 예상할 때 좀 더 레이저에 대하여 안정적이고 경제적인 endotracheal tube의 개발이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.

Analysis on Vowel and Consonant Sounds of Patent's Speech with Velopharyngeal Insufficiency (VPI) and Simulated Speech (구개인두부전증 환자와 모의 음성의 모음과 자음 분석)

  • This paper focuses on listening test and acoustic analysis of patients' speech with velopharyngeal insufficiency (VPI) and normal speakers' simulation speech. In this research, a set consisting of 50-words, vowels and single syllables is determined for speech database construction. A web-based listening evaluation system is developed for a convenient/automated evaluation procedure. The analysis results show the trend of incorrect recognition for VPI speech and the one for simulation speech are similar. Such similarity is also confirmed by comparing the formant locations of vowel and spectrum of consonant sounds. These results show that the simulation method for VPI speech is effective at generating the speech signals similar to actual VPI patient's speech. It is expected that the simulation speech data can be effectively employed for our future work such as acoustic model adaptation.

Production of English Vowels by Korean Learners (한국인 학습자의 영어 모음 발화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate how Korean speakers produce English vowels. Twenty one Korean learners produced the vowels [i, ɪ, eɪ, ɛ, æ, ɑ, ʌ, ɔ, oʊ, ʊ, u] in bVt or pVt forms of real words. Acoustic measurements were conducted for the vowel formant frequencies (F1, F2) and duration. Results showed that Korean learners tended to produce the vowel duration longer than native English speakers. Also, the front vowels produced by Korean participants tended to be produced at the more frontal part of the tongue. In addition, Korean participants distinguished the tense and lax pairs not through quality(F1, F2) but through vowel duration. This is different from the native English speakers in that they differentiate tense and lax pairs by quality(F1, F2) as well as vowel duration. Based on these results, pedagogical implications are discussed.

Patterns and Usage of Pseudo Student Talk (PST) (유사학생발화의 유형과 분류)

  • In most classrooms, teachers talk more than students. Teachers have been thought to be knowledge-donors and students have been thought to be knowledge-acceptors, so teacher-talks were thought to be more important than student-talks. But student-talks are very important to the students: not only to the students who speak out their opinions or answer to the questions given to them, but also to the others who say nothing in the class. Many students in Korea are not so fond of speaking out something to all the class, so some teachers are using a strategy: to say something as if he for she) is a student in the classroom. What teachers talk are not the words of the teacher-talks. They are only talked by the teachers, but they function like student-talks. To study this type of talks are needed to help both teachers and students but there are not much research about this. So in this paper we a) name it Pseudo Student Talk (PST), b) define it as 'a kind of talks that are not talked by students of the class but its functions are very similar to the student-talks', c) classify PST in 'EBS 2005 science class for 7th grade' according to types of student talks (categorized by Lemke, 1990), and d) show the usage of each kind of PST.

A Query-aware Dialog Model for Open-domain Dialog (입력 발화의 키워드를 반영하는 응답을 생성하는 대화 모델)

  • 대화 시스템은 사용자의 입력 발화에 대해 적절하고 의미 있는 응답을 생성하는 시스템으로 seq2seq 구조를 갖는 대화 모델이 주로 연구되고 있다. 그러나 seq2seq 기반 대화 모델은 입력 발화와 관련성이 떨어지는 응답을 생성하거나 모든 입력 발화와 어울리지만 무미건조한 응답을 생성하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 이를 해결하기 위해 입력 발화에서 고려해야 하는 키워드를 찾고 그 키워드를 반영하는 응답을 생성하는 모델을 제안한다. 제안 모델은 주어진 입력 발화에서 self-attention을 사용해 각 토큰에 대한 키워드 점수를 구한다. 키워드 점수가 가장 높은 토큰을 대화의 주제 또는 핵심 내용을 포함하는 키워드로 정의하고 응답 생성 과정에서 키워드와 관련된 응답을 생성하도록 한다. 본 논문에서 제안한 대화 모델의 실험 결과 문법과 입력 발화와 생성한 응답의 관련성 측면에서 성능이 향상되었음을 알 수 있었다. 특히 관련성 점수는 본 논문에서 제안한 모델이 비교 모델보다 약 0.25점 상승했다. 실험 결과를 통해 본 논문이 제안한 모델의 우수성을 확인하였다.

An Experimental Study on Spontaneous Combustion Risk of M.E.K (M.E.K(경화제)의 자연발화 위험성에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • 본 연구에서는 산업현장에서 에폭시 강화촉진제, 도로용 첨가제 등으로 많이 사용되고 있는 경화제(M.E.K)의 혼합비에 따른 자연발화 위험성을 알아보고 산업 현장의 화재 예방을 위한 기초자료로 제공하고자 하였다. M.E.K와 에포비아 수지를 각기 다른 비율로 혼합한 상태에서 시간경과에 따른 시료의 온도변화 와 유증기 발생 및 자연발화 여부를 관찰한 결과 합성수지와 경화제의 혼합시 경화제가 5% 이상으로 혼합될 경우 혼합 수지의 내부온도가 약 $40^{\circ}C$ 이상으로 상승하면서 발포 현상과 함께 다량의 유증기가 발생하였고, 유증기가 발생된 모든 조건에 대하여 자연발화 여부는 확인할 수 없었다.

  • In this paper, the possibility of arc tracking, caused by combustion at the circuit breaker, was discussed. The arc tracking, occurred at the source terminals of all the circuit breakers, when we burned electric leakage circuit breakers with 220V applied. We had a same results of the experiment to simulate fire scene, in the circumstance of fire, all of the circuit breakers had arc tracking caused by combustion. Therefore we confirmed that the arc tracking at the source terminal of circuit breaker could be occurred by just combustion in the fire scene, and it was impossible to decide the cause of fire for reason of discriminating arc tracking at the terminals of circuit breaker.

A Feature-based Approach to American English Vowel Production by Korean Learners (한국 학습자들의 미국 영어 모음 발화에 대한 자질적 접근)

  • This study aims to examine Korean learners' production of American English vowel focused on feature analysis. Specifically, the present study adopts feature analysis so that vowel production is analyzed in terms of vowel features as well as overall segmental accuracy. To this end, 22 Korean college students participated in a production test which contained 11 English vowels /i, ɪ, eɪ, ɛ, æ, ɑ, oʊ, ɔ, ʊ, u, ʌ/. The results revealed that the degree of difficulty varied depending on features; the Korean participants showed higher accuracy for front/back features than for tongue height features and tense/lax features. In particular, the participants had more difficulty producing back vowels and non-high vowels than front vowels and high vowels with respect to tongue height features and lip rounding features. Among the individual vowels, /eɪ/ showed the highest accuracy in feature analysis. On the other hand, /ɑ, ɔ, ʌ/ showed low accuracy with respect to height features and lip rounding features, and high vowels /i, ʊ, u/ showed low accuracy with respect to tense/lax features. As for the correlation between the vowel features, tongue height features and lip rounding features are significantly correlated. Also, tongue height features and tense/lax features showed a strong correlation. Finally, pedagogical implications for teaching English vowels were further discussed based on the findings of the current study.

The Effects of Clarification Training in Barrier Game on Conversational Breakdowns and Repair Strategies of Children with ASD (장벽게임을 사용한 명료화 중재가 자폐범주성장애 아동의 대화단절 및 발화수정 전략에 미치는 효과)

  • This study examined the effects of clarification training on conversational breakdowns and repair strategies of 3 school aged children with ASD. Clarification training provided to the participants during playing the barrier games. The results found that the occurrence of conversational breakdown was decreased in terms of overall and types. The occurrence and appropriateness rates of repair strategies were increased among all participants. Based on the results, 'clarification training' used in this study can be an effective method to train children with ASD for appropriate repair strategies in conversation.
