Remote Sensing Applications in Korea (한국의 원격탐사 활용)

  • As there is a growing interest in remote sensing applications, the Korean Society of Remote Sensing has published several special issues in which articles on specific research topics were collected. In this special issue, we first review the research topics on several special issues published in the Korean Journal of Remote Sensing by 1) the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences (NAS), the Korea Environment Institute (KEI), the Ministry of Environment (ME) and the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) in 2017 and 2) the Korea Institute of Ocean Science and Technology (KIOST), the Korea Polar Research Institute (KOPRI), KARI, and Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA) in 2018. Then, research articles on the remote sensing applications in Korea are introduced.

  • This paper presents animation techniques and issues involved in virtual environments where the participants interact with each other through a network. The state of the participant should be collected at each local site, and broadcasted to the other sites. Because information exchange is minimal, animation techniques are applied to convert the incoming low DOF parameters into high DOF joint angles that completely determine the configuration of the agents at each frame. As a case study, a software system VRLOCO is introduced, which has been developed by the author over the last five years.

  • The equilibrium network design problem can be formulated as a mathematical Program with variational inequality constraints. We know this problem may have may multiple local solutions due to its inherent characteristics - Nonlinear Objective function and Nonlinear, Nonconvex constraints. Hence, it is difficult to solve for a globally optimal solution. In this paper, we propose a genetic algorithm to obtain a globa1 optimum among many local optima. A Proposed a1gorithm is compared with 4 different solution algorithms for 1 small test network and 1 real-size network. The results of some computational testing are reported.

The Study on the Development and Effectiveness of Parent Role Education Program (영아건강증진을 위한 부모역할교육 프로그램의 개발 및 그 효과에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the maternal role education program for primiparas in mother-infant interaction, childrearing environment, and infant development. Method: A Non-equivalent control group time-series design was used. For the intervention group, programmed parenting education focusing on mother-infant interaction, home environment for infant development, and parent counseling and support was provided via home visits or telephone for twelve months. Result: Significant differences were found in the mother-infant interaction feeding scale at one and three months, but no differences were found in the teaching scale at six and twelve months between the intervention and control groups. Also, the difference in childrearing environment (HOME) between the two groups was significant at three, six, twelve months. In addition, the intervention group showed higher GQ in the Griffiths mental development scale at three and six months. In multiple regression analysis, 22.6% to 43.6% of infant development was explained by HOME, mother-infant interaction, and previous development. Conclusion: The maternal role education program proved to be effective in promoting mother-infant interaction, organizing the childrearing environment, and fostering infant development.

  • Transmedia storytelling is that a number of contents based on various media platform establish a world, and refereed as newly appeared mode in the age of digital convergence. Transmedia storytelling, each different media organically creates and produce various meaning to create a world, makes alteration in not just only producer's area but also consumer's area. The first property of Transmedia storytelling is joint producing in creation and intelligence collectiveness for enjoyment. The second property is the differentiation of story through crossover and combination, which offer new experience and penetration to consumers. As last property, it is the process of collecting and transpiring story by making relationship to establish that world. Such properties of Transmedia storytelling will act as an analysing base for transmedia contents establishing through various media platform.

  • Currently, The new wave of information technology has enormously influenced every field. In the Held of design, it is time to strive possible efforts in order to accumulate the design-related knowledge by maintaining, managing and controlling design information in a systematic manner, getting out of the old stage of mere use of data itself. Due to remarkable progress in communication media and speed, and file compression technology, text-centric data has been shifting to multimedia data such as image and motion picture. So it is currently required that methologies be developed to effectively utilize the related information. With respect to the processing of image data, it is certain that the optimal method should be come up with reflecting the unique characteristics and utilization of image data, apart from the traditional way of processing and storing the legacy text-based data. The study suggests the system of indexing and implementing design image information through the case of analyzing design image data, abstracting data elements of image itself, and finally applying it to building image-oriented database for use.

Predictability of Consumer Expectations for Future Changes in Real Growth (소비자 기대심리의 미래 성장 예측력)

  • The long lasting world-wide recession and low economic progress have made it more important to predict future economic behavior. Accordingly, it is of interest to explore useful leading indicators, correlated with policy targets, to predict future economic growth. This study attempts to develop a model to evaluate the performance of consumer survey results from Statistics Korea to predict future economic activities. A statistical model is formulated and estimated to generate predictions by utilizing consumer expectations. The prediction is found improved in the distant future and consumer expectations appear to be a useful leading indicator to provide information of future real growth.

  • 최근 국내 경제의 구조적 전환에 대한 필요성이 증대됨에 따라 기술집약적인 산업에 관심이 모아지고 있으며 이러한 관심은 주로 기술개발과 혁신을 통해 고수익을 달성하려는 벤처기업에 집중되어져 왔다. 특히 인터넷 비즈니스분야의 벤처인 경우 기존 산업이 지니고 있던 산업구조, 기업유형 및 수익원천과는 구별되는 특징을 지니고 있기에 기업의 성장성과 수익성을 예측하고 미래가치를 판단하는데 있어 새로운 투자평가 패러다임이 요구된다. 국내의 경우 최근 들어 벤처성과와 관련된 연구들이 진행되고는 있으나 주로 사례연구 방식으로 벤처기업을 대상으로 한 주요성공요인, 성과 영향요인, 자금조달 및 육성지원정책 등 탐색적 연구에서 벗어나지 못하고 있으며 실제 벤처투자자의 입장에서의 연구는 이루어지지 못하고 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 벤처투자가를 대상으로 투자고려요인과 성과요인을 추출하고 두 요인간의 관련성을 파악함으로써 투자성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 제시하고 이를 투자자유형, 성장단계, 투자시기, 사업유형, 벤처전략별로 분석하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다. 이를 통해 인터넷 비즈니스분야의 벤처기업에게는 각 기업별 특성에 따른 관리 요인과 벤처투자가에게는 투자의사 결정시 도움을 줄 수 있는 투자지침을 제시한다.

  • 할로겐 난연재료 및 고분자의 연소시 Dioxine의 문제점이 대두되고 있어 유럽국가를 중심으로 할로겐 난연제 사용을 규제하고 있다. 환경과 인체에 대한 안정성을 고려해서 저 유해 가스화, 저 발연화, 저 부식성, 리사이클링 등을 겸비한 제품의 개발로 관심이 모아지고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 환경친화적인 금속화합(수산화 알루미늄)을 사용하여 연소시 발생할 수 있는 난연성, 무독성, 소연성 등을 함량별로 확인하고 난연재가 증가할수록 취약한 기계적 물성 보완을 위해 moisture cure crosslikable 기술로 케이블절연 및 자켓 피복층 특성을 증가 시켰다. 그러나 수산화알루미늄 함량이 증가할수록 기계적 물성과 기타 특성도 감소하는 경향을 보이고 있어 최적의 난연제 조성함량이 약 130~150 phr정도에서 우수한 결과를 확인하였다. 또한 moisture cure agent는 전선압출 시 표면에 scorch 및 장기 압출에 영향을 주므로 약 1.5~2phr 범위에서 처방하는 것이 우수하다. 원료투입 후 mixing 공정 중에서는 온도관리가 매우 중요하므로 되도록 믹싱 온도를 $130^{\circ}C$ 이하를 유지해야한다. 온도는 수산화알루미늄의 분산성과 케이블 피복압출 시 표면에도 영향을 주기 때문이다 본 연구는 이런 작업방법을 통해 친환경 가교 난연콤파운드가 비(比) 가교된 제품에 비해 특성이 증가되는 것을 입증할 수 있었다.

  • In recent years, attention of ship owners for the energy saving of the vessel is being collected due to the volume decline. Ship accommodation consists of watertight type windows and is closed, Ship HVAC is used to promote a comfortable environment for the crew. In addition requirements for comfort of the crew is getting stronger with the improvement of living standards, there is a need for HVAC improvements. In this paper, propose method to save energy and improve HVAC controls by using the HVAC structure of the variable air volume.
