Intelligent Path Guide System using Fuzzy Logic (퍼지 로직을 이용한 지능형 경로 안내 시스템)

  • The Ubiquitous Society is being attained gradually as it got through the step of super-high speed internet mobile and digital convergence. Now, it is being variously spread to no only the little ordinaries of communication but also fields of economy and industry. Specially, RFID and Navigation are being issued at home and foreign. These are prospected to give assistances that it bring along the competitive power of nation. But inflection range of RFID and Navigation is localized in the most sin lest. This paper proposes system to reflect the individual and special quality using RFID and Navigation and to fit easily changing environment. And we studied to use what kinds of information in the special environment. We used Fuzzy Logie and TSP for making the intelligent navigation system with more information.

  • 3D data are in great demand for pedestrian navigation recently. For pedestrian navigation, we needs to reconstruct 3D model in detail from people's eye. In order to present spatial features in detail for pedestrian navigation, it is indispensable to develop 3D model not only in outdoor environment but also in indoor environment such as underground shopping complex. However, it is very difficult to acquire 3D data efficiently by mobile mapping without GPS. In this research, 3D shape was acquired by Laser scanner, and texture by CCD(Charge Coupled Device) sensor. Continuous changes position and attitude of sensors were measured by IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit). Moreover, IMU was corrected by relative orientation of CCD images without GPS(Global Positioning System). In conclusion, Reliable, quick, and handy method for acquiring 3D data for indoor environment is proposed by a combination of a digital camera and a laser scanner with IMU.

  • Augmented reality (AR) has tremendous potential in visualizing geospatial information, especially on the actual physical scenes. However, to utilize augmented reality in mobile system, many researches have undergone with GPS or ubiquitous marker based approaches. Although there are several papers written with vision based markerless tracking, previous approaches provide fairly good results only in largely under "controlled environments." Localization and tracking of current position become more complex problem when it is used in indoor environments. Many proposed Radio Frequency (RF) based tracking and localization. However, it does cause deployment problems of large RF-based sensors and readers. In this paper, we present a noble markerless AR approach for indoor (possible outdoor, too) navigation system only using monoSLAM (Monocular Simultaneous Localization and Map building) algorithm to full-fill our grand effort to develop mobile seamless indoor/outdoor u-GIS system. The paper briefly explains the basic SLAM algorithm, then the implementation of our system.

Improved First-Phoneme Searches Using an Extended Burrows-Wheeler Transform (확장된 버로우즈-휠러 변환을 이용한 개선된 한글 초성 탐색)

  • First phoneme queries are important functionalities that provide an improvement in the usability of interfaces that produce errors frequently due to their restricted input environment, such as in navigators and mobile devices. In this paper, we propose a time-space efficient data structure for Korean first phoneme queries that disassembles Korean strings in a phoneme-wise manner, rearranges them into circular strings, and finally, indexes them using the extended Burrows-Wheeler Transform. We also demonstrate that our proposed method can process more types of query using less space than previous methods. We also show it can improve the search time when the query length is shorter and the proportion of first phonemes is higher.

  • The aim of this paper is to improve the usability of Mobile Maps by allowing more people to use. To figure out better UX/UI, I evaluated usability for Mobile Applications from various materials such as literatures and blogs for qualitative methods and interviews and questionnaires about satisfaction of Naver and Daum for quantitative methods. So, We know that a map app is important and it is affected by force and profile on the portal site than its own features, because, not often in everyday life. Even though people do not use Mobile Map Applications frequently, we need to improve usability to make anybody use them easily by minimizing depth and button designs.

Multi-directional DRSS Technique for Indoor Vehicle Navigation (실내 차량 내비게이션을 위한 다방향 DRSS 기술)

  • While indoor vehicle navigation is an essential component in large-scale parking garages of major cities, technical limitations and challenging propagation environments considerably degrade the accuracy of existing localization techniques. This paper proposes a proximity detection scheme using low-cost beacons where a handheld mobile device within a moving vehicle autonomously detects its approximate position and moving direction by only observing Received Signal Strength (RSS) values of beacon signals. The proposed approach essentially exploits the differential RSS technique of multi-directional beams to reduce the impact of the environment, vehicle, and mobile device. A low-cost multi-directional beacon prototype is developed using Bluetooth technology. The localization performance is evaluated using 96 beacons in an underground parking garage within an area of 394.8m×304.3m. Experimental results show that the 90th percentile of the average proximity detection error is 0.8m. Furthermore, our proposed scheme provides robust proximity detection performance with various vehicles and mobile devices.

  • Mobile phones can access the wired website using mobile Full Browsing service. But the number of mobile websites is quite small compared to domestic Internet domain, and is mainly concentrated in some large businesses. The small businesses and individuals have a problem that is difficult to develop mobile Web interface, because they are lack of the technology for usability and compatibility. This paper proposes the small basic interface elements that are considered usability and based on relevant standards and can easily be applied in the industry. The proposed basic interface elements consist of 33 elements for overall behavior, navigation, contents, page definition and user input.

  • This work deals with navigation of an omni-directional mobile robot with active caster wheels. Initially, the posture of the omni-directional mobile robot is calculated by using the odometry information. Next, the position accuracy of the mobile robot is measured through comparison of the odometry information and the external sensor measurement. Finally, for successful navigation of the mobile robot, a motion planning algorithm that employs kinematic redundancy resolution method is proposed. Through experiments for multiple obstacles and multiple moving obstacles, the feasibility of the proposed navigation algorithm was verified.

  • 새로운 세기를 맞이하면서 이제 새삼 IT(Information Technology: 정보기술)가 주목을 받고 있다. 급속한 기세로 세계에 퍼진 인터넷이 정보의 흐름과 ''물건''의 움직임을 크게 바꾸려 하고 있기 때문이다. 외출지나 자동차 등의 이동환경에서도 휴대전화를 통하여 언제든지, 어디서나, 간단하게 인터넷 접속이 가능하게 되어 바야흐로 시간과 공간을 초월한 본격적인 네트워크사회를 맞이하려 하고 있다. 모바일 단말과 정보통신인프라의 발전은 네트워크에 의한 정보취득이나 전자상거래 등의 새로운 정보서비스를 창출하여 라이프사이클의 변화도 일으키고 있다. 한편 자동차를 둘러싼 정보통신환경은 카 내비게이션 등의 차재 정보단말과 함께 발전해가고 있다. FM다중, 광비컨, 전파비컨을 통한 VICS(Cehicle Information and Communication Systems: 도로교통정보통신 시스템)와 휴대전화를 통한 인터넷 접속, 자동차를 위한 정보제공서비스는 이미 실용화되고, 특히 노차간 통신전용 DSRC(Dedicated Short Range Communication: 협성통신)를 통해 유료도로에서 요금을 자동으로 징수하는 ETC(Electronic Toll Collection: 자동요금 징수시스템)의 실용화가 임박하고 있다. 앞으로는 IMT-2000(International Mobile Telecommunications-2000) 차세대휴대전화와 디지털방송서비스 등 보다 더 새로워진 정보통신 고속화$\cdot$고품질화가 기대되고 있으며, 이것들을 조합한 복합미디어에 의해 가까운 장래에는 차내에서도 다양한 정보제공서비스를 받아서 누릴 수 있을 것으로 생각된다.
