Preliminary Study of Performance Evaluation of a Dual-mode Compton Camera by Using Geant4 (Geant4 몬테칼로 전산모사 툴킷을 이용한 이중모드 컴프턴 카메라 최적화 설계 및 성능평가)

  • A double-scattering type Compton camera which is appropriate to imaging a high-energy gamma source has been developed for nuclear material surveillance at Hanyang University. The double-scattering type Compton camera can provide high imaging resolution; however, it has disadvantage of relatively low imaging sensitivity than existing single-scattering type Compton camera. In this study, we introduce a novel concept of a dual-mode Compton camera which incorporates two different types of Compton camera, i.e., single- and double-scattering type. The dual-mode Compton camera can operate high-resolution mode and high-sensitivity mode in a single system. To maximize its performance, the geometrical configuration was optimized by using Geant4 Monte Carlo simulation toolkit. In terms of imaging sensitivity, high-sensitivity mode had higher sensitivity than high-resolution mode up to 100 times while high imaging resolution of the double-scattering Compton camera was maintained.

  • 유연계의 제어기 설계를 위한 구동기의 최적 위치 선정법이 제시되었다. 위치 후보의 적합성을 파악하기 위해 초기 외란의 조정에 필요한 최소 입력 에너지와 관련된 모드 가제어도가 정의 되었는데 이는 구동기를 모든 후보 위치에 설치한 이상적 제어기의 성능에 대한 특정 후보 위치의 상대적 성능을 나타낸다. 모드 가제어도로 구성된 목적 함수를 이용해 구동기를 위한 최적 위치의 선정이 가능하였으며, 목적 함수의 절대적 크기를 통해 사용된 구동기의 수의 적절성 역시 파악할 수 있었다. 또한, 시스템 규명을 위한 가진기의 위치 선정 방법이 제시되었으며, 이를 위해 모드 가제어도에 상대되는 모드 가진도가 정의 되었다. 모드 가진도는 정상 상태에서의 특정 모드로의 입력 에너지의 통계적 분포를 나타낸다. 수학적 유도 과정을 통해 제어 시간이 충분히 큰 경우 모드 가제어도가 모드 가진도로 수렴해 감을 보였으며, 이로부터 제어시간이 충분한 경우, 최적의 구동기 위치는 최적의 가진기 위치로도 사용될 수 있음을 보였다.

  • 본 연구는 LCD 패널에서 시청모드별 사용자의 피로도 차이에 대한 연구이다 LCD 사용에 따른 사용자 피로도에 미치는 영향이 보고되고 있는 것을 감안하여 감성 공학적 방법을 이용하여 시청모드에 따른 사용자 피로도 차이를 분석하였다. 실험은 34명의 대학생을 두 그룹으로 나누어서 같은 동영상 조건에서 각각 영화모드와 표준모드를 60분간 시청하게 하였다. 시청 시의 피로도를 알아보기 위해 생리신호 반응(GSR, PPG, SKT), 눈 움직임(동공의 확대 축소속도, 눈 깜박임률) 및 주관적 피로도(긴장도, 쾌적도, 피로도)를 측정하였다. 그 결과 주관적인 평가와 생리 반응에서 영화모드가 표준모드보다 더 피로감을 유발시키는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 눈 움직임 반응에서는 통계적으로 유의한 결과를 얻지 못하였다.

Low Frequency Squeal Noise Reduction using Mode Participation Factor in Complex Eigenvalue Analysis (복소고유치해석에서 모드기여도 인자를 이용한 저주파 스퀼소음 저감)

  • In this study, a complex eigenvalue analysis is implemented to verify the unstable mode of a brake system using ABAQUS software. The component participation factors and component modal participation factors are used to analyze the total contributions from each component and each component mode to a particular unstable system mode. This study shows that the 1.4-kHz unstable system mode comes from mode coupling between the 2nd nodal diametric mode and 3rd lateral axial mode (LAM) in the baseline model. A sensitivity analysis with a linking index is performed to prevent the mode coupling of the component modes. This linking index analysis shows the optimum mass loading position to move away the natural frequency of the 3rd LAM, which contributes to the unstable mode. Finally, a complex eigenvalue analysis is implemented with mass loading in the tie bar position, and no unstable system mode is generated in the low-frequency range (below 2 kHz).

Standard Performance Measurements of GE $Advance^{TM}$ Positron Emission Tomography (GE $Advance^{TM}$ 양전자방출단층촬영기의 표준 성능평가)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to establish optimal imaging acquisition conditions for the GE $Advance^{TM}$ PET imaging system by performing the acceptance tests designed by National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) protocol and General Electric Medical Systems (GEMS) test procedures. Materials and Methods: Performance tests were carried out with $^{18}FDG$ radioactivity source and phantoms by using a standard acquisition mode. Transaxial resolution and scatter traction tests were performed with a line source and axial resolution with a point source, respectively. A cylindrical phantom made of polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) was used to measure sensitivity, count rate losses and randoms, uniformity correction, and attenuation inserts were added to measure remaining tests. The test results were acquired in a diagnostic acquisition mode and analyzed mainly on high sensitivity mode. Results: Transaxial resolution and axial resolution were measured as average of 4.65 mm and 3.98 mm at 0 cm, and 6.02 mm and 6.71 mm at 20 cm on high sensitivity mode, respectively. Average scatter fraction was 9.87%, and sensitivity was $225.8kcps/{\mu}Ci/cc$ of trues. Activity at 50% deadtime was $4.6{\mu}Ci/cc$, and the error of count rate correction at that activity was from 1.49% to 3.83%. Average nonuniformity for total slice w3s 8.37%. The accuracy of scatter correction was -0.95%. The accuracies of attenuation correction were 5.68% for air, 0.04% for water and -6.51% for polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). Conclusion: The results satisfied most acceptance criteria, indicating that the GE $Advance^{TM}$ PET system can be optimally used for clinical applications.

  • It is necessary to develop an efficient analysis method to identify the dynamic characteristics of a large mechanical structure and update its finite element model. That is because these processes need the huge computation of a large structure and iterative estimation due to the use of the first- order sensitivity. To efficiently carry out these processes, a new method, called the generalized free-interface mode sensitivity method, has been proposed in the authors' preceeding paper. This method is based on substructuring approach such as a free-interface method and a generalized synthesis algorithm. In this paper, the proposed method is applied to the model updating of a car body structure to verify its accuracy and reliability for a large mechanical structure.

  • 본 논문에서는 카메라의 원근감을 이용하여 케이블의 모드형상을 추출하는 과정을 제안한다. 제안 기법을 검증하기 위해 디지털 카메라와 캠코더를 이용하여 서로 다른 위치에서 동일 화면을 동시에 촬영하고, 촬영된 영상을 사진 변환프로그램을 통해서 초당 30프레임으로 영상이미지를 추출해 낸다. 추출된 좌.우 영상이미지의 영상좌표를 이용하여 케이블에 부착된 표적의 3차원 위치를 결정한다. 이때 디지털 카메라와 캠코더간의 위치 및 자세는 제안된 종속적 상호표정 방법을 통하여 결정한다. 결정된 케이블의 시간이력으로부터 고유진동수과 감쇠비는 다중 템플릿 매칭 알고리즘(multi-template matching algorithm)기법으로 추출하고, 모드형상은 TDD(Time Domain Decomposition)기법을 통하여 추출한다.

  • In this paper, we analyze the degradation of receiving sensitivity due to the coupling between digital noise and mobile handset antenna using characteristic mode. First, we analyze the coupling mechanism between the antenna and digital noise, and analyze the role of the decoupling capacitor of the ground signal line, which is one of the ways to improve the antenna receiving sensitivity degradation due to camera noise. For the analysis, the digital signal line and the ground line of the FPCB of the camera module are modeled as a loop type feeder that excites the characteristic mode of the PCB ground, and improved model which has a ground line with a capacitor are analyzed.

  • It might be true that both experimental and analytic techniques have been developed in the vibration analysis end engineering. It could not be said, however, that the experimental method has been also developed as much as analytic method, such as Finite Element Method One of the reason is that computation time becomes longer and that the solution often diverges depending on the choice of initial value in solving nonlinear equation. The equation in experimental modal analysis is usually composed of the nonlinear term of natural frequency and modal damping ratio, and the linear one of equivalent stiffness. In this study, the nonlinear terms were solved first, and then the linear term was obtained. The experimental modal parameters were estimated, applying the developed experimental modal analysis curve-fitting method to the super-structure model. In addition, the number of modes and modal damping ratio could be easily determined by the developed program with the application of graphical techniques and with easy handling button.

Study on the Taxing Mode Control of MR Damper Landing Gear (MR 댐퍼 착륙장치의 택싱모드 제어기법에 대한 연구)

  • The aircraft vertical acceleration from the excitation of the road surface in the taxing mode is a main factor with a negative effect on the boarding quality of pilots and passengers. In this paper, we propose an appropriate control method to improve the boarding quality of the MR damper landing gear. The proposed control method is Skyhook Control Type 2, which feeds the aircraft vertical acceleration back in addition to the aircraft vertical velocity. Since Skyhook Control Type 2 factors the velocity and acceleration of the upper mass, it can be expected to exceed the control performance of the existing Skyhook Control that factors only the upper mass velocity. For the simulation, the bumper type road surface was selected as a ground surface, and the landing gear model constructed with RecurDyn and the controller designed with Simulink were co-simulated. The control effect of Skyhook Control Type 2 was verified by comparing and analyzing the RMS and maximum value of the upper mass acceleration according to the taxing speed and control method.
