The Feasibility Studies for Introducing Bimodal Tram System Based on Urban Scale (신교통 바이모달트램의 도시규모별 도입타당성 분석)

  • The Bimodal Tram being developed in Korea is a new transit system that provides both benefits of rail and bus systems in terms of accessibility and fixed time schedule. This study accomplished a feasibility study for introducing the Bimodal Tram system by considering the travel demand and existing transit system at a city level based on its population. The feasibility of Bimodal Tram system varies depending on cities with respect to demographic scale, mode shares, and operational distances. The strategies introduced here will help any cities where transport agencies are trying to introduce the Bimodal Tram as a new transit system.

  • This study analyzes the basic characteristics needed for motivating modal shift from truck to rail. The object of the study is to consider the resistance factor for container transported inland and the object point is the transfer node where modal shift occurs. The main contents of the study are as follows. First, the study looks at what shippers, engaged in inland transport of container, think of current transfer node environment. From this, the study analyzes what resistance factors are attributable to the lack of motivation in modal shift from truck to rail. Second, the study estimates mode choice models in which the resistance factors at transfer node are applied. Also by using this, the study draws out elasticities, and analyzes characteristics of resistantance factors in modal shift. Third, as its result, the study suggests methods to promote modal-shifting container transport from truck to rail.

  • This study will analyze what is favorable of urban structure in order to introduce new transit system like bi-modal tram. As a reasonable transport mode in a city, the bi-modal tram needs to be considered with respect to the space structural pattern and city growth process. The result of this study may provide the basic resource that helps transport decision makers to decide how to introduce bi-modal tram by considering the urban structural characteristics. Also, the results that analyzed a functional characteristic of a bi-modal tram with a effective urban polices will be informative for practical use.

  • 유비쿼터스 시대가 도래하면서 사용자를 중심으로 하는 서비스에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 더불어 사용자의 특성에 맞는 개인화 된 서비스를 요구하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 유비쿼터스 공간에서 소형화, 지능화되고 있는 개인형 이종 디바이스 간의 협업을 통해 사용자에게 보다 직관적이고 편리한 개인화된 서비스를 제공하기 위한 디바이스 협업 기반 에이전트 기술을 제안한다. 본 연구에서는 센서를 통해 사용자 환경에 대한 정보 및 사용자 정보를 수집하여 기본적인 서비스에 필요한 상황정보를 처리한다. 또한, 유비쿼터스 사용자에게 필요한 멀티모달 서비스를 제공한다. 따라서 일반적인 자동화 서비스 이상의 개인 특성에 맞는 고품질의 서비스를 제공할 수 있다.

  • 웹소설 시장의 성장에 따라 웹소설 추천 시스템의 중요성이 높아지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 작품의 특성 및 선호도를 나타낼 수 있는 다양한 데이터를 활용하여 추천시스템을 구현하고 그 성능을 평가하여 표지 이미지와 작품 특성을 모두 고려한 멀티 모달 추천 시스템이 가장 효율적임을 보여주었다. 연구 결과, 단일 변수 추천에서는 작품 소개글과 표지 이미지 기반 추천이 가장 좋은 성능을 보였고, 멀티 모달 추천 시스템에서는 작품 소개글, 이미지, 키워드 순으로 성능에 좋은 영향을 끼치는 것으로 나타났다. 이번 연구 결과는 한국콘텐츠진흥원에서 조사한 웹소설 이용자 실태조사와는 조금 다른 결과를 보여주었다. 설문조사에서는 인기도를 웹소설 선택 시 가장 중요한 영향으로 봤으나, 본 연구에서는 작품 소개글이 가장 중요한 영향을 미친다는 결과가 나타났다. 이러한 연구 결과는 웹소설 추천 시스템의 개발과 운영에 있어서 중요한 참고 자료가 될 것으로 예상된다.

The Bimodal Tram is expected to take an important role of transit system in Korea under the national strategy of transportation system such as 'Low Carbon and Green Growth' for the next generation. This study does define the key indices considered for a decision of introducing the Bimodal Tram system and develop a finalized index, BSI(Bimodal Score for Introduction), showing the level of Bimodal Tram system introduced at a city level. The transport/transit system varies depending on cities with respect to demographic characteristics, travel patterns, financial capabilities, etc. This study will help any cities where transport agencies are trying to introduce the Bimodal Tram as a new transit system.

  • Bimodal Tram is spotlighted for alternative public transportation system which have punctualness, efficiency, and convenience running between capacity of bus and light rail transit. It have the advantage of automatic operation system when it runs at exclusive right-of-way as like as railway, runs as same as a bus at road concurrently. However, concrete construction plan is not established since the law as well as government subsidy are not defined. For activating bimodal tram construction, this paper analyzed as below. 1) understanding obstacles of activating construction through current status of local governments' bimodal tram promotion plan, 2) finding essential elements for legislation through transportation mode characteristics comparison and system rules analysis, 3) related foreign law analysis.

  • Within multimodal medical image registration techniques, which correlate different images and Provide integrated information, surface registration methods generally minimize the surface distance between two modalities. However, the features of two modalities acquired from one subject are similar. So, it can improve the accuracy of registration result to match two images based on optimization of both surface distance and shape feature. This research proposes a registration method which optimizes surface distance and surface curvature of two brain modalities. The registration process has two steps. First, surface information is extracted from the reference images and the test images. Next, the optimization process is performed. In the former step, the surface boundaries of regions of interest are extracted from the two modalities. And for the boundary of reference volume image, distance map and curvature map are generated. In the optimization step, a transformation minimizing both surface distance and surface curvature difference is determined by a cost function referring to the distance map and curvature map. The applying of the result transformation makes test volume be registered to reference volume. The suggested cost function makes possible a more robust and accurate registration result than that of the cost function using the surface distance only. Also, this research provides an efficient means for image analysis through volume visualization of the registration result.

  • This study explores recent research trends and potential applications of ultrasound optical imaging-based multimodal technology. Ultrasound imaging has been widely utilized in medical diagnostics due to its real-time capability and relative safety. However, the drawback of low resolution in ultrasound imaging has prompted active research on multimodal imaging techniques that combine ultrasound with other imaging modalities to enhance diagnostic accuracy. In particular, ultrasound optical imaging-based multimodal technology enables the utilization of each modality's advantages while compensating for their limitations, offering a means to improve the accuracy of the diagnosis. Various forms of multimodal imaging techniques have been proposed, including the fusion of optical coherence tomography, photoacoustic, fluorescence, fluorescence lifetime, and spectral technology with ultrasound. This study investigates recent research trends in ultrasound optical imaging-based multimodal technology, and its potential applications are demonstrated in the biomedical field. The ultrasound optical imaging-based multimodal technology provides insights into the progress of integrating ultrasound and optical technologies, laying the foundation for novel approaches to enhance diagnostic accuracy in the biomedical domain.
