  • This study is about the development of emergency response guidance by safety index of seakeeping performance which is based on emergency response procedures in the ship through HAZID. These emergency response guidances will contribute to respond ship's abnormal conditions related to seakeeping performance effectively and efficiently to reduce marine accidents.

  • 일반적으로 연속 데이터 스트림을 모니터링하는 응용은 다수의 범위 질의를 포함한다. 이러한 다수의 범위 질의는 술어 색인을 이용해 효율적으로 처리할 수 있다. IBS-tree는 연속 데이터 스트림 상에서 효과적으로 이용될 수 있는 술어 색인 기법 중 하나이다. 그러나 IBS-tree는 모든 노드에서 등호 검사와 부등호 검사를 함께 실시하며, 이는 검색 성능의 저하로 이어질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 등호 검사와 부등호 검사를 분리하여 수행함으로써 검색 성능을 향상시키는 술어 색인 방법을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 등호 검사를 위해 해싱을 이용하고, 부등호 검사에는 균형 이진 검색 트리를 이용한다. 본 논문에서는 실험을 통해 IBS-tree와 제안하는 방법의 검색 성능을 비교하였으며, 실험 결과로부터 제안하는 방법의 성능이 더욱 우수한 것을 확인하였다.

  • 저전력 연산능력과 무선통신 기능을 포함한 경량의 센서노드들로 구성된 무선 센서네트워크는 자연 환경의 모니터링에서 군사적인 목적에 이르기까지 다양한 어플리케이션을 창출 할 수 있다. 그러나, 다수의 저가 무선 노드를 배치해야 하는 센서네트워크의 특성상 안정성이 높은 고가의 부품을 사용할 수 없어, 이에 대한 보완 방안에 대한 연구가 활발히 진행 중이다. 특히, 무선 노드들 간의 시간동기화는 가용 무선 대역폭이 적은 무선 센서 네트워크에서 TDMA 스케줄링등의 기술을 구현하기 위한 필수적인 기반기술로서 네트워크 특성을 고려한 새로운 동기화 기법을 요구하고 있다. 본 논문에서는, 무선센서노드의 특성을 파악하고 시간 동기화 수행 시 발생할 수 있는 오차요인을 분석하여, 넓은 지역에 산발적으로 분포되는 무선 센서네트워크의 특성을 보완할 수 있는 새로운 시간동기화 기법을 제안한다.

격자형 공간 모델링을 이용한 해양 오염원 확산 예측 시스템

  • 본 논문은 해상에서 발생될 수 있는 기름 유출 사고시 효과적 방제의 지원을 위한 오염원 확산 예측 시스템의 개발을 주목적으로 한다. 이를 위하여, 격자형 공간 DEVS 모델 링 방법론을 이용한 SOS(Save Our Sea) 시스템을 개발하였다. 기존의 해양오염 예측 시스 템들이 대부분 해석적 기법에 의존하는데 비해 제안된 시스템은 격자형 공간 모델링을 이용 한 시뮬레이션 기법으로서 전체 해양을 Cell 단위의 공간으로 분할하고, Cellrks의 결합관계 는 Name-Directed Coupling을 적용함으로서 시스템 설계상의 효율성과 유연성을 제공한 다. 제안된 시스템은 기름유출사고의 발생시 오염원 확산에 영향을 주는 각종 벡터 변수값 들에 따른 해양 오염 물질의 확산 분포를 예측함과 동시에 확산에 영향을 주는 많은 벡터 값들이 모니터링 정보를 함께 제공함으로서 해양 오염 방제 및 환경 보존에 효과적으로 적 용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

  • As fiber reinforced composite materials are widely used in aircraft, space structures and robot arms, the on-line cure monitoring during the cure process of the composite materials has become an important research area for the better quality and productivity. In this paper, the dielectric circuit of the Wheatstone bridge type for measuring the dissipation factor during cure of thermsetting resin matrix composite materials was designed and manufactured. Also, the dielectric sensor for the cure monitoring of high temperature cure composites was developed and tested. The residual thermal stresses of the dielectric sensor during high temperature cure were analyzed by the finite element method and its dielectric characteristics at high temperature cure were analyzed by the finite element method and its dielectric characteristics at high temperature were evaluated. The on-line cure monitoring of the BMI(Bismaleimide) resin was performed using the developed Wheatstone bridge type circuit and the high-temperature dielectric sensor.

  • This paper is focused on the traffic characterization for the efficient transmission of the VBR video source in the ATM network. For the traffic characterization, low traffic monitoring technique is applied and the dynamic VBR characterization method is suggested to satisfy the delay requirement. The dynamic VBR method uses the token bucket algorithm buffering though Cumulative Constraint Function. According to the Cumulative Constraint Function, the packet initially started transferring at the peak rate and the token bucket provided proper amount of buffer for traffic after a certain period of monitoring. It also reduced the network resource bandwidth through renewal of the cumulative frame and changed the rate from the previous frame information. It requires only small amount of monitoring and causes little overhead. In addition, it lowered the complexity of Deterministic Constraint Function to 0(n) and mapped the token rate and token depth to the token bucket. This study shows less network resource consumed than the previous method, comparing and analyzing the result of simulations.

  • Bicycle is an environment-friendly transport mode contributing to a more sustainable transportation systems. To innovatively increase the use of bicycle as a significant transport mode, bicycle-friendly roadway environment should be provided. This study proposes a method to evaluate cycling environment based on the analysis of data collected from an specially equipped probe bicycle. The inertial measurement unit(IMU) consisting of a gyro sensor, accelerometer, and a global positioning systems(GPS) receiver was installed on the probe bicycle. Cycling stability index(CSI) and bicycle speed data were used as inputs of the proposed evaluation framework adopting the Fault Tree Analysis, which is a well-known technique for the risk analysis. The outcomes of this study will serve as an intelligent assesment tool for cycling environment.

  • Recently, structure safety management techniques using cutting-edge technology(Displacement senor, sensor of acceleration) has emerged as an important issue owing to the aging of infrastructure such as bridge and building. In general, the structural monitoring system for structure safety management is based on IT technology and it is expensive to install. In this paper developed an image-based structure dynamic characteristic analysis system prototype to assess the damage of structure in a more cost-effective way than traditional structure health monitoring system. The inspector can take a video of buildings or other structures with digital camera or any other devices that is passible to take video, and then using NCC calculation for image processing technique to get natural frequency. This system is analysis of damage of the structure using a compare between the frequency response ratio and functions when problems are occurs send alarm to administrator. This system is easier to install and remove than previous monitoring sensor in economical way.

  • Development of smart sensors for structural health monitoring and damage detection has been advanced remarkably in recent years. Nowadays fiber optic sensors, especially fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors, have attracted many researchers' interests for their attractive features, such as multiplexing capability, durability, lightweight, electromagnetic interference immunity. In this paper, a damage detection approach of jacket-type offshore structures by principal component analysis (PCA) technique using FBG sensors are presented. An experimental study for a tidal current power plant structure as one of the jacket-type offshore structures was conducted to investigate the feasibility of the proposed method for damage monitoring. It has been found that the PCA technique can efficiently eliminate environmental effects from measured data by FBG sensors, resulting more damage-sensitive features under various environmental variations.

Context Recognition Using Environmental Sound for Client Monitoring System (피보호자 모니터링 시스템을 위한 환경음 기반 상황 인식)

  • This paper presents a context recognition method using environmental sound signals, which is applied to a mobile-based client monitoring system. Seven acoustic contexts are defined and the corresponding environmental sound signals are obtained for the experiments. To evaluate the performance of the context recognition, MFCC and LPCC method are employed as feature extraction, and statistical pattern recognition method are used employing GMM and HMM as acoustic models, The experimental results show that LPCC and HMM are more effective at improving context recognition accuracy compared to MFCC and GMM respectively. The recognition system using LPCC and HMM obtains 96.03% in recognition accuracy. These results demonstrate that LPCC is effective to represent environmental sounds which contain more various frequency components compared to human speech. They also prove that HMM is more effective to model the time-varying environmental sounds compared to GMM.
