Naive Bayes Learner for Propositionalized Attribute Taxonomy (명제화된 어트리뷰트 택소노미를 이용하는 나이브 베이스 학습 알고리즘)

  • We consider the problem of exploiting a taxonomy of propositionalized attributes in order to learn compact and robust classifiers. We introduce Propositionalized Attribute Taxonomy guided Naive Bayes Learner (PAT-NBL), an inductive learning algorithm that exploits a taxonomy of propositionalized attributes as prior knowledge to generate compact and accurate classifiers. PAT-NBL uses top-down and bottom-up search to find a locally optimal cut that corresponds to the instance space from propositionalized attribute taxonomy and data. Our experimental results on University of California-Irvine (UCI) repository data sets show that the proposed algorithm can generate a classifier that is sometimes comparably compact and accurate to those produced by standard Naive Bayes learners.

  • In this paper, we consider the problem of exploiting a taxonomy of propositionalized attributes in order to generate compact and robust classifiers.   • Can a proposition that a sentence like "It is raining" represents be sometimes itself? or is it always ? This is known as the debate between Eternalism and Temporalism and belongs to the sub-category of the wider debate between Classical Propositionalism and Non-classical Propositionalism. Regarding this matter, Cappelen and Hawthorne(2009), supporting Eternalism[Classical Propositionalism], raise interesting objection to anaphoric 'that' argument that is one of the famous arguments supporting Temporalism. In this paper, I try to show how difficult it is to advocate Classical Propositionalism by refuting what Cappelen and Hawthorne claim.

  • Whitehead's metaphysics and philosophy of nature rest on his awareness of the metaphysical problem of the relation between "I", the "creative advance" and forces of the universe. Whitehead attempted to systematize human experience of the world based on logical explorations. In this context it is important to note that his discussion of proposition and language is closely connected with his works on a systematic theory of nature. Whitehead proposes a metaphysical concept of proposition also based on the creative advance of the universe. His theory of proposition is designed to show that human language is constructions of the relations between logical and real events in the creative universe which refer to a particular point of view. In this view, a variety of verbal possibilities in the multiple worlds can be realized in the same proposition. For Whitehead the emergence of novelty in the function of proposition is an essential property of the creative universe. This paper will try to give a discussion to Whitehead's theory of proposition with regard to the emergence of nature. Especially I emphasize in this paper Whitehead's idea and meaning of proposition for the development of the creative advance of nature as one aspect of particular importance.

  • 논리 언어로 불확실한 정보의 표현과 처리가 가능하도록 논리 프로그램을 확장하였다. 이러한 확장을 위해 의미론이 명확한 확률 논리를 응용하였고, 확률적 연역 추론을 위해 추론 규칙들을 공리화하여 기본 지식과 함께 처리될 수 있게 하였다. 여기서는 기존 논리 프로그램의 명제 부분만을 대상으로 하였으며, 확장된 논리 프로그래밍 언어는 기존 언어에서 간단한 인터프리터를 사용하여 쉽게 구현하여 이용할 수 있다.

  • 전문가의 지식을 지식베이스화하여 의사결정지원시스템으로 사용하려는 노력이 증대하고 있다. 특히 투자의사결정과 같은 원인결과의 관계를 명확히 규정할 수 없는 복작한 영역에서 전문가의 지식베이스는 비전문가의 의사결정에 중요한 조언을 제공할 수 있다. 불확실한 지식을 지식베이스화하는 한 방법으로 퍼지프러덕션시스템이 널리 사용되고 있다. 주식시장과 같은 동태적인 시스템에서 어떤 정보의 중요성은 상황에 따라 변화하는데 이를 정태적인 프로덕션시스템의 규칙으로 지식베이스화하는 것은 불가능하다. 그러나 추론을 수행하는 과정에서 수행당시 각 정보의 중요도에 부응하는 가중치를 부여하여 평가함으로써 정태적인 지식베이스에 동태적인 실제시스템의 특성을 반영할 수 있다. 이는 가중치가 높은 정보에 해당하는 조건명제의 충족정도가 해당규칙의 전체평가결과에 더욱 중요하게 반영되게 하여 좀더 현실성 있는 추론 결과를 얻게 한다. AHP(Analytic Hierachy Process) 방법에 의하여 얻어진 정보의 상대적 중요도에 따른 가중치 (w)를 해당 정보와 조건명제의 합치정도(Degree of Match : DM)에 (DM)w 의 형식으로 적용함으로써 퍼지프러덕션시스템에서 정보의 중요도를 반영하여 프러덕션규칙을 평가하는 방법을 제시한다.

  • In learning environment at mathematics education, prove and refute are essential abilities to demonstrate whether and why a statement is true or false. Learning proofs and counter examples within the domain of limit of sequence is important because preservice teacher encounter limit of sequence in many mathematics courses. Recently, a number of studies have showed evidence that pre service and students have problem with mathematical proofs but many research studies have focused on abilities to produce proofs and counter examples in domain of limit of sequence. The aim of this study is to contribute to research on preservice teachers' productions of proofs and counter examples, as participants showed difficulty in writing these proposition. More importantly, the analysis provides insight and understanding into the design of curriculum and instruction that may improve preservice teachers' learning in mathematics courses.

Laying the Siting of High-Level Radioactive Waste in Public Opinion (고준위 방폐장 입지 선정의 공론화 기초 연구)

  • Local opposition and protest constitute single greatest hurdle to the siting of locally unwanted land uses(LULUs), especially siting of high-level radioactive disposal not only throughout Korea but also throughout the industrialized world. It can be attributed mainly to the NIMBYism, equity problem, and lack of participation. These problems are arisen from rational planning process which emphasizes instrumental rationality. But planning is a value-laden political activity, in which substantive rationality is central. To achieve this goals, we need a sound planning process for siting LULUs, which should improve the ability of citizens to influence the decisions that affects them. By a sound planning process, we mean one that is open to citizen input and contains accurate and complete information. In other word, the public is also part of the goal setting process and, as the information and analyses developed by the planners are evaluated by the public, strategies for solutions can be developed through consensus-building. This method is called as a co-operative siting process, and must be structured in order to arrive at publicly acceptable decisions. The followings are decided by consensus-building method. 1. Negotiation will be held? 2. What is the benefits and risks of negotiation? 3. What are solutions when collisions between national interests and local ones come into? 4. What are the agendas? 5. What is the community' role in site selection? 6. Are there incentives to negotiation. 7. Who are the parties to the negotiation? 8. Who will represent the community? 9. What groundwork of negotiation is set up? 10. How do we assure that the community access to information and expert? 11. What happens if negotiation is failed? 12. Is it necessary to trust each other in negotiations? 13. Is a mediator needed in negotiations?
