  • Recently the construction of simulation environment is an important issue in all fields. In case of the training for operating machines such as airplanes or spaceships which cause a huge cost, simulators could be helpful to reduce the costs and training efforts by simulating real situations. When people get a driver's license, too many trainees have to wait for their turns because of the limited number of cars and the small space of training sites. To solve this problem, we have designed and developed the basic design for the simulators. We suggest the Computer 3D Simulation Model for a driver's practice. The concept of this simulator is from a 3D Racing-game which suits for a driving exercise. We provide users with handle-controlled simulation settings to let users feel reality as if they drive in real through this simulator. We also use a 'force-feedback' system which gives handle vibration when users collide against obstacles or exceed lanes. Users can be absorbed in the simulation program and feel the sense of the real. This paper is the study about modeling the driving exercise model of 'computer 3D simulation', and producing and utilizing the simulator through this modeling.

  • In this study, a conceptual study was performed for the leisure boat simulator used for navigation training. The aim of this work was to secure the basic operational capability of a leisure boat as a simulated driving device for a general novice operator. A leisure boat simulator was designed to support a user more efficiently regarding navigation proficiency and safety training, as well as to minimize the limitation of place and time and it conveniently and cheaply. A cockpit for navigation status display and operational input, 3D visualization graphic device, and parallel display device were designed to give the trainee a maximum sense of reality by applying a motion platform with six degree of freedom, in which disturbance movement such waves, winds, and tide were simulated for the operator. Leisure boat simulator training scenario was developed by analysis of water-related leisure activities act and sea traffic safety act.

  • The objective of this research is to compare the teacher education system in countries that have reformed, or are in the process of reforming, their informatics education by reflecting ongoing social changes and developments in IT. The teacher education systems in Finland, Germany, Japan, the UK and US were compared. As a result of the study it was found that (1) the results did not differ according to the teacher education institution, (2) there was a focus on a minor subject, and (3) there were various routes for teacher training. The systems for special graduate schools were found to be developed, probation period after graduation was more than one year, and license renewal systems were being enforced. Based on these results, it was proposed that (1) more teachers be recruited to attend graduate schools and (2) that software training be given to all teachers as a minor. Finally, a license renewal system for revaluating teachers' qualifications was also proposed. This research is meaningful in that it compared the teacher training system in Korea with five major developed countries.

  • The purpose of this study is to comparatively analyse the behavior patterns of the first and the repeated offenders in DWI, and to develope the models of BAC(Blood Alcohol Concentration) by using multiple regression analysis method and a model of repeated DWI conviction by using logistic regression analysis method. The main results are as follows. First, the repeated offenders are more in criminal and traffic accidents records than that of the first offenders. The unlicenced drivers are in higher BAC than licenced drivers. Second, multiple regression model of BAC was developed, and the model revealed that criminal records and driving distance were important factors. Third, a model of repeated DWI conviction was developed, and the model revealed that traffic accidents records, whether or not having licence, and criminal records were most important factors.
