현재, 다수의 조직에서 개별적으로 메타데이터 표준을 제시하고 구축하고 있다. 이로 인해 메타데이터 상호간 호환성의 문제가 발생하게 되고 각기 분산되어 구축된 메타데이터 이용 또한 원활하지 않게 되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 본고에서는 메타데이터 레지스트리를 적용하여 국내 문헌정보 DB의 메타데이터 표준 유지와 통합 검색을 통한 연계 활용 모형을 구축하고자 한다.

This paper suggests metadata as an effective search tool suitable for moving images on the web. Dublin Core, a leading metagata sceme of web resources, and MPEG-7, a coming international standard developed by MPEG, are used to construct a hybrid metadata scheme. RDF is selected as a framework for a matadata description and Moving Image Core was developed as a RDF schema. Finally, RDF/XML encoded metadata of moving images are retrieved throuth web-based database system using ASP technology.

본 논문의 목적은 효과적인 식품정보 분류 체계 구축 및 관리를 위하여 식품정보의 메타데이터를 구축하고자 하는 것이다. 메타데이터는 데이터에 대한 데이터를 의미하며, 데이터의 분류체계, 구조, 내용요약을 함축적 의미로 표현하는 데이터이다. 이러한 메타데이터를 이용하여 식품정보를 체계적으로 분류하여 식품정보 조회, 분석, 활용을 위한 체계를 구축하였고, 식품정보에 대한 접근성을 향상시켰다. 따라서 본 논문을 통하여 식품정책, 식품산업, 식품기술 개발에 효과적인 정보를 제공하여 식품정보의 활용성 증대 및 효과적인 분류를 가능케 하였다.

To solve of complex problems for access and management data stored in the very large spatial database system that need to constructed metadata for the physical and logical elements concerned with spatial and non-spatial data sets. Also, in the underground water management system which managed with spatial and non-spatial elements, need to spatial features metadata system based on feature-based. We, in this paper, proposed metadata model for the feature-based underground water management system using underground water meta-information inputted on the DXF formatted tile-based geological maps. Additional, we modeled metadata level of feature and data set and presented standard specification of underground water metadata.

재해로 인한 피해가 급증함에 따라 이를 예방하기 위한 풍수해 피해예측의 필요성이 증가하였고 관련된 다양한 연구가 진행되고 있다. 타 부처 및 각 지자체에서는 각종 재해지도들을 작성하여 만들어진 재해지도는 작성 유형과 방법 등에 따라 다양한 데이터와 서로 다른 정보를 포함하고 있어 데이터 정보를 표준화 시키고 필요한 정보를 효율적으로 찾아 연계 활용하기 위하여 본 연구를 수행하고자 한다. 메타데이터란 데이터에 대한 정보를 의미하며 데이터 변화의 근원과 변화의 흐름을 말한다. 메타데이터 관련 표준으로는 ISO19115(국제표준), KSXISO19115(국가표준), TTAS.KO-10.0139(유통목록 표준), TTAS.IS-19115(관리용 표준)이 있다. 본 연구에서는 국제표준을 준용하여 풍수해 피해 예측지도의 체계적 관리를 위한 메타데이터 설계 및 관리 시스템 구축 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 풍수해 피해예측지도 메타데이터 관리 시범 시스템 구축을 위한 표준, 정보의 특성, 사용자 수준 등을 고려하여 설계 기본방향 설정하였으며, 풍수해 피해예측지도 정보 메타데이터 표준안 수립에 반영하였다. 그 결과, 메타데이터 패키지는 총 9개의 섹션(클래스)으로 구성하여 정의하였고 하위개체를 설정 및 연계하여 메타데이터 개체셋 정보를 구성하였다. 풍수해 피해예측지도 메타데이터 관리 시범 시스템 설계 제시를 위해 DB항목 조사 및 도출, 데이터 연계 활용 모델 구축, 프로토타입 개발순으로 연구를 수행하였다. 또한 표출 대상 데이터 항목별 분류, 방재활용 단계, 지역구분 등을 주제로 데이터 Mapping 자료를 작성하였고, 설계 기본 방향에 의하여 설정된 기준으로 데이터 항목별 메타데이터 DB를 작성하여 풍수해 피해예측지도 메타데이터 관리 시범 시스템을 설계하였다. 본 연구 결과는 추후 풍수해 피해예측지도 표준 데이터 및 풍수해 피해예측지도 표준 데이터 모델 구축에 활용 가능하며 표준화 연계활용을 위한 연구에 기여할 것으로 판단된다.

본고는 메타데이터를 이용하여 인터넷 정보자원에 대한 디렉토리 서비스를 제공하는 사례를 소개한 것으로서 '정보의 과학과 기술'49권1호(1999.1)에 실린 '메타데이터를 이용한 학술적 웹 디렉토리 서비스의 구축을 완역한 것이다. 최근 국내에서 추진되고 있는 인터넷상의 특정 분야 메타데이터 데이터베이스 구축에 참고가 될 것으로 사료된다.

웹 상에서의 이미지 정보검색은 주로 표준화되지 않은 이미지의 서지정보로부터의 검색이 이루어지고 있어 그 정확성과 효율성이 그리 높지 않은 실정이다. 따라서 이미지 검색을 위한 효과적인 메타데이터 표준의 선정은 일반인들이 신속하고 효과적으로 웹 상의 이미지를 검색할 수 있게 해주는 기초적인 단계일 것이다. 이 연구에서는 기존의 이미지 메타데이터에 대해 살펴보고 이를 토대로 하여 웹 상에서의 빠르고 효과적인 이미지 정보의 교환을 위한 핵심 메타데이터를 선정하고 XML DTD 및 스키마를 완성하였다. 그리고 선정된 메타데이터를 대상으로 이미지 검색이 이루어질 수 있도록 메타데이터 데이터베이스를 구축하고 이를 검색할 수 있는 웹기반 이미지 검색시스템을 설계하여 구현해보았다.

지난 수십년간 GIS(Geographic Information System) 분야에서는 소프트웨어의 비약적인 발전과 더불어 광대한 양의 공간데이터 구축이 이루어졌다. 이러한 공간데이터는 분산되어 있으며 지리정보 응용시스템의 특정 포맷으로 동일한 지역과 데이터로 중복 구축되어 비용의 낭비뿐만 아니라 신규 구축 시 필요한 시간 및 인력의 낭비를 가져오고 있다. 이를 방지하기 위하여 이기종간 분산되어 있는 공간데이터를 공유 및 관리하기 위한 메타데이터 구축이 절실히 요구되어 국제표준단체(ISO/TC 211)를 통한 메타데이터 표준이 진행되고 있으며 국내의 경우 한국전산원을 주도로 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구는 국제 표준화 동향에 발맞춰 현재 진행되고 있는 국내 메타데이터 표준의 동향을 살펴보고 이를 기반으로 생성된 국내 표준 DTD 및 XML을 이용한 실제 응용사례를 분석하였다. 본 연구를 통하여 향후 분산된 공간데이터의 관리 및 공유를 위한 메타데이터의 효율적인 구축을 할 수 있다.

Although organizing standardized metadata is important for effective management of cultural heritage information, current metadata are represented differently according to the properties of the resources or objectives of the organizations in which they are accumulated. This research compared 6 different metadata formats and created 18 data elements for constructing databases. A religious architecture heritage information database was constructed based on 72 historic religious architectures, each composing of three parts. An ontology based on religious architecture heritage information was designed using a revised CIDOC-CRM, and was developed with a semi-automated corpus program.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the metadata elements of institutional repository using DSpace and to provide the directions and strategies for constructing metadata. To the end, discussed in details are (1) understanding the background of development, features, elements of metadata, (2) figuring out the common metadata elements and the differentiated metadata elements for the institutional repository, (3) examining the search methods, search elements, and display elements of the insitutional repository, and (4) based on theses, suggested are directions and strategies for metadata of institutional repository using DSpace. The research methods were used such as literature review, the analysis of 4 domestic institutional repository.
