Design and Implementation of Education Multimedia Content Authoring Tool (교육용 멀티미디어 컨텐츠 저작도구의 설계 및 구현)

  • In this paper, in order to help one to write contents for education in such a way to increase effectiveness, we implement SMIL editor, which helps anyone to author contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way based on multimeda language SMIL. Thanks to its interface which utilizes WYSIWYGT, this editor allows teachers or other users who do not know SMIL to write contents for education and multimedia text in an easy way and to check in a real time how a partially completed document work and to revise when it is not satisfactory. It also allows one to write contents with explanations to help learning because usable multimedia objects can be inserted. This editor helps the user to reduce his inconvenience that he has in memorizing SMIL tags and to reduce his time and offers in writing the documents.

  • Many famous institutes or associations select ICT ability by major ability to need in 21C's information-oriented society. Korea Association of Information Education have studied a new curriculum and suggest a new plan that content of information education classify by 'computer system', 'SW production' and 'fusion activity'. Therefore we study on productivity tools of elementary and middle school. In this paper we firstly suggest object to achieve on productivity tools of elementary and middle school. Next we suggest teaching learning method and evaluation method on productivity tools. we expect that the object to achieve on productivity tools we suggest will contribute to develop the curriculum of ICT subject.

  • Offline English Zone refers to a physical environment in which the learners can check the results while they practice speaking and listening in English, and look up the vocabulary and information on their own. However, offline English zone is inevitably dependent on limited and artificial environment and its operation is greatly limited in having to provide an environment in which the students can spontaneously experience role play in an artificial space set in a small-scale English village consisting of shopping, restaurant, and hospital zones. The purpose of this study is to analyze the problems of the environmental restrictions in educational methodology utilizing offline English zone programs. Moreover, based on the ubiquitous concept. It is to provide a strategy for utilizing online English zone programs which utilize multimedia tools, wireless internet, and SNS.

  • 요즘 원격 교육의 필요성으로 인하여 교사 연수에 있어서도 기존 출석 연수와 병행하여 원격연수가 증가하는 추세에 있다. 그러나 현재 이루어지고 있는 원격 연수의 상당 부분은 실제 현장 교사들이 원하고 교사 연수의 핵심인 교수법 향상에 대한 것보다는 교과에 대한 지식이나 기능위주로 시행되고 있는 것이 사실이다. 교사 연수의 궁극적인 목적인 교수법 향상을 위해서는 연수생들이 경험이 풍부하고 교수법이 뛰어난 교사가 실제 수업하는 것을 보고 동료 교사들끼리 서로 충분히 토의를 거치고 배우는 형태의 연수가 유용할 것이다. 그러나 시간, 인원, 경비 등의 문제로 실제 그렇게 하기 어려우므로, 교수-학습 지도안과 동기화된 동영상 중심으로 이루어진 원격 연수 시스템을 구축하는 것이 좋을 것이다. 본 연구에서는 동기화 동영상 저작 도구를 개발하고 이를 활용하여 원격 연수 시스템을 구축해서 교사들의 교수법 향상에 많은 도움이 되리라 기대한다.

  • The education system that based on objective data is needed for the beginning technologists in the department of radiology, development of the CAI system based on breast images is needed mammography field. So, in this study, we implemented CAI system based on mammography images for medical radiological technologists under Web using multimedia toolbook. This system is implemented under Web, more and more beginning technologists can have a remote-education beyond time and space, can save human power and time that needed due to hold in common of educational information, and cannot team mistaken breast images because of learning execution based on objective data. Also, implemented system brings a higher interest and a learning effect to medical radiological technologies because of hyper-media method that offered from toolbook. In the future, it will be needed a continuous acceptance of changing knowledge and it will be useful system for technologist in case of applying various examinations based mammography method of this study.

  • This study is intended to implement an e-Learning system assisted class for the dress unit in the subject of technology & home economics in the middle school. This class is aimed at making teaching-learning in the dress unit effective, triggering students' interest in it, enhancing their understanding and offering basic materials for the e-Learning development about clothing instruction in the subject of technology & home economics. To make the concrete situational learning effective and provide realistic learning environments, learning contents were implemented so that the learners themselves could manipulate the contents by clicking. How to wear clothing according to learners' individuality was presented in order to trigger the learners' attention and motivation using the latest clothing pictures from the Internet shopping mall, and the dress fashion pictures of their peers. The result of this study can be summed up as follows. First, the implementation of learning materials with which simulation manipulation and visualization were possible could make the students reach the learning goals easily. Second, teaching-learning activity could be made more effective using audios, images and moving pictures rather than written texts. Third, learning the dress unit, which is especially related with a new fashion, made the most of the advantage of e-Learning by providing realistic and lively learning materials in a timely manner. And it triggered learners' motivation by providing pictures or moving pictures related with their real life. Based on these research results, this study suggests further research to develop e-Learning contents using various multimedia authoring tools as well as the ones applied to this study in learning the dress unit. It also suggests that the database of teaching-learning materials be constructed to securely prepare abundant instruction materials.

  • Advances in computer technology have made it possible for educators to design and develop their own multimedia instructional materials using visuals such as animation. Although, it generally believed that the Mew attribute of computer animation facilitates student's foaming, there is still relatively little research regarding the way in which student benefit from multimedia instruction using 3-D animation. The purpose of this research was to examine and determine whether the use of 3-D computer generated images is an effective teaching device for hoping children to understand color theory, and enhancing the tractional methods. In this study, a 3-D computer generated presentation was creative and it demonstrated the mixing of primary color to obtain secondary color. Three research hypotheses were developed in this research. The first hypothesis stated that 3-D computer generated presentation will be an effective device for teaching color theory. The second was that the presentation will be eye-catching and it will hold the children's attention. The third was presentation would enhance the children's memory of color. Results of this study show that visualization technology and the use of 3-D graphics ends can be employed in the field of art education to increases a chi1d's understanding of color theory. Also, it was proved that teaching children through 3-D graphic is an highly effective teaching tool. Thus this research is a oontribution to both children's au education and the relatively new field of computer animation.

  • The existing tutoring estimation systems using the authoring tools or HTML forms on the Web environment don't have been improved inconvenient factors of uni-directional interactive systems. In this paper, we design and implement the interactive tutoring estimation system which is conveniently considered to user on the internet environment. The proposed system is divided into teacher and student modules, which have the functions of the new problem insertion and deletion in database, regular examination marking for the former and lecture/test selection, scoring look, etc for the letter. The environment of server system in this thesis is implemented using the IDC file and SQL database for internet access based on Windows NT, client systems are composed to Windows 95 environment based on Explorer or Netscape to access for interactive tutoring systems.

  • Delivery efficiency of e-learning media can be influenced by authoring processes. Generally, a moving picture recorded by video camera can be delivered to student by multimedia streaming service, using media server technology. A e-learning media authored by lecture authoring tool is played in a student application by download-based delivery system. Recently, some animation know-how are applied to author e-learning media by hand-operation. In this paper, we suggest a client-based streaming service for the e-leaning media consists of media files and integration data The lecture of e-learning media nay be divided into some time-based small blocks. Each blocks can be located distributed site. The student system gather those blocks by download-scheduling. This is a valid method for QoS guarantee streaming services. In addition to our study, lecturers can author composite e-learning media includes media files and dynamic web pages simply, The distributed e-learning media files of our study is managed by multi-author and updated rapidly.

  • Elementary school students have a great deal of interest in Internet games which provide integrated multimedia and so they become to know well the terminology used in network such as game server, Internet service, transfer time, etc. In addition, they are used to understand the technological phenomena occurring in internet. They, however, have difficulty understanding concepts and principles regarding the phenomena mentioned above because the educational contents in elementary school computer textbooks consist of only ICT education and its applications, i.e., tool-based technology. In this paper, we apply educational learning on network concepts which are the basis on the internet to classroom instruction by using problem oriented models. We conclude that the educational contents in elementary school computer education should be transferred to the area with principles and concepts.
