  • 마모된 공구로 절삭을 할 때 공구가 받는 힘은 칩을 제거할 때 받는 칩 제거력과 프랭크 면에 작용하는 공구와 공작물 사이의 마찰력으로 나눌 수 있다. 칩제거력은 그 힘이 전단선의 길이와 비례함을 이용하여 계산하였고, 프랭크면에 작용하는 마찰력은 공구에 작용하는 공작물의 탄성력을 고려하여 계산하였다. 절삭력은 이 두 힘의 합으로 구해졌으며 이 계산된 힘은 실제 절삭을 하는 동안 얻어진 실험결과와 비교되었다.

  • This paper introduces a friction compensation fuzzy logic controller, which utilizes a rule-based approach. The paper explains the algorithm of the proposed controller and compares it with a conventional PID controller in simulations and experiments. For the experiments, the two control algorithms were implemented on a 3-axis milling machine in contour milling. These simulation and experimental analyses show that the proposed fuzzy logic controller has superior performance over conventional PID controllers In terms of part contour accuracy.

  • This paper is the study on dry sliding wear behavior of carbon fiber reinforced epoxy matrix composites against lay-up orientation. Tests were investigated on the effect of the lay-up orientation, fiber sliding direction, load and sliding velocity when circumstance keep continuously at $21^{\circ}C$, 60%RH. Pin-on-disk dry sliding wear tests for each experimental condition were carried out with a carbon fiber reinforced plastic pin on stainless steel disk in order to search the friction and wear characteristics. The wear rates and friction coefficients against the stainless steel counterpart were experimentally determined and the wear mechanisms were microscopically observed. The effect on friction and wear behavior are observed differently, according to various conditions. When sliding took place against counterpart, the highest wear resistance and the lowest friction coefficient were observed in the $[0]_{24s}$ lay-up orientation at anti-parallel direction.

  • 지반과 구조물을 일체화시키는데 사용하는 앵커는 앵커체와 지반의 마찰력에 의해서 구조물을 지지하는 역할을 하며 앵커의 하중과 변형의 관계를 규명하기 위해서는 앵커의 마찰력 분포의 변화(하중전이)가 중요한 요소가 된다. 하중 재하시 앵커체에 발생하는 하중전이 분포는 앵커의 인발 지지력과 밀접한 관계가 있고 정착장의길이, 지반 조건 등에 따라 분포 양상이 변하기 때문에 하중 정이를 이해하기 위해서는 강선과 그라우트의 하중분포 그리로 앵커 그라우트체와 지반과의 마착력 분포를 알아야 한다. 본 연구는 미국 Texax A&M University의 점성토지반에 계측기가 장착된 10개의 그라운드 앵커를 설치하여 인발시험을 수행하였다. 앵커의 자유장 강선에 작용하는 응력, 그라우트체에 작용하는 응력, 그리고 정착장 강선의 응력을 계측하여 강선과 그라우트의 정착응력 및 그라우트와 지반에서의 마찰력 분포를 구함으로써 강선-그라우트-지반의 복합적인 거동에 따른 각 하중 단계마다의 하중전이를 얻어냈다. 또한 현장시험 결과의 역해석을 통하여 강선과 그라우트 사이의 하중과 변위의 관계와 그라우트와 지반의 하중-변위 관계를 분석하여 그라운드 앵커의 인발 특성을 예측 할 수 있는 수치해석 기법을 모델링하여 제시하였다.

A Friction Compensation Method for Low Speed Servomechanisms (저속 서보메카니즘의 마찰 보상방법)

  • In controlling servomechanism, such as X-Y tables, friction is one of the most significant source of tracking error. Existing friction models work well when the direction of the motion does not change. However, when the direction of motion changes such as traversing a circular profile, relatively large tracking errors referred to as 'quadrant glitches' are introduced. In this paper, a new friction model, which has a term that can compensate the effect of the quadrant glitches, is proposed. The performance and effectiveness of the proposed model are evaluated through the experimental work. The results show that the controlling servomechanism with the proposed model completely remove the quadrant glitches.

  • An experimental study has been performed to investigate friction characteristics of pre-coated metals widely used in domestic appliances. Seven-coated sheet metals are tested by using three friction mechanism such as straight pulling, frictionless roller, and non-rotational roller with three kinds of cylindrical rollers. In this experiment, effects of friction mechanism, blank thickness, and roller diameter on friction coefficient, surface roughness, and scoring factor have been investigated From the experimental results, it has been found that tested pre-coated sheet metals have low friction coefficients ($\mu$ = 0.15~0.20) because films coated on sheets take a role of lubricants. Friction coefficients of pre-coated metals decrease with increasing roller-diameters. Surface of pre-coated metals can be improved by decreasing the blank thickness

  • A friction tester to measure friction force generated at the interface between the piston ring and the cylinder liner was developed. Modified piston ring is bar-shaped and 100mm long. Surface of the modified piston ring is machined by the profile grinding machine to be formed as a shape of an arc of a circle. Measured data are treated as mean effective friction force and power loss. From this test it can be confirmed that friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is deeply affected by surface shape of the piston ring and viscosity of supplied oil. Friction force is decreased and power loss is increased with increasing velocity. And it is known that region of mixed lubrication is broader than estimated with theoretical analysis. it is expected that this tester can be used as the optimization tool of the surface shape of the piston ring at the first stage of development of the piston rings.

  • Cup drawing tests were performed to evaluate the friction characteristics of sheet metals. The linear relationship between drawing force and blank holding force obtained from the cup drawing test was used to calculate the coefficient of friction of the sheet metal. The friction coefficient was compared to that from conventional draw bead friction test. It was clarified that the cup drawing test can be used as a simple and convenient method for evaluating the friction characteristic of the sheet metal and also lubricity of the lubricant used.

  • The structural vibration due to earthquake or outside impact causes serious problem for building safety. A dynamic model of a friction damper which can be constructed and installed easily is needed to reduce the vibration of the building. In this paper, the experimental equation of a circular friction damper is derived and designed for reduction of a earthquake vibration of a building. The developed experimental equation is defined to simply design the capacity on design of the circular friction damper based on the results of the performance test. Finally this experimental equation can be used for the design of a circular friction damper.
