Complex heat-treatment effects on as-built CoCrMo alloy (적층공정법으로 제작된 CoCrMo 합금의 복합열처리 효과)

  • The CoCrMo as-built alloys prepared by 3D-printing process are studied on tensile strength, wear resistance, crystal structure and microstructure after complex heat-treatment including HIP. In this study, HIP treatment for removing micropores, ambient heat-treatment for formation of metal carbides, and solution heat-treatment for homogenization of the created metal carbides were tried and characterized for applying to artificial joint. The complex heat-treatment effects of the CoCrMo as-built alloys prepared by 3D-printing process were owing to the densification during HIP, formation of metal carbides and homogenization of the created metal carbides. The effects of the complex heat-treatment were confirmed by XRD, FE-SEM and EDS.

  • Respiratory viruses (RVs) cause infections in hospital environments through direct contact with infected visitors. In infection control, it causes major problems of acquired infections in hospitals by respiratory viruses. The surveillance data derived from clinical laboratories are often used to properly allocate medical resources to hospitals and communities for treatment, consumables, and diagnostic product purchases in the institutions and public health sectors that provide health care. An early diagnosis is essential in infection with respiratory viruses, and methods that can be used in diagnostic methods using respiratory samples include virus culture, molecular diagnosis, and analysis. A microchip provides a new strategy for developing a more diverse and powerful technology called point-of-care testing. The importance of the respiratory system should be applied strictly to the infection control guidelines to ensure the occupational health and safety of health care workers. Evidence of clinical efficacy, including this study, is challenging the long-standing paradigm for infection propagation. Additional assistance will be needed for frequent tests to detect respiratory viruses in inpatients who have begun to show new respiratory symptoms indicating infections requiring efforts to control the infection.

Prediction of harmful algal cell density in Lake Paldang using machine learning (머신러닝을 활용한 팔당호 유해남조 세포수 예측)

  • 유해 남조 대발생(Harmful Algal blooms, HABs)이 담수호에 발생하면 마이크로시스틴과 같은 독성물질과 맛·냄새 물질을 생성하여 상수원이용과 친수활동을 방해한다. 그래서 유해 남조 대발생 전 유해남조 세포수를 예측하여 선제적 대응하는 것은 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 머신러닝기반 Random Forest(RF)를 활용하여 팔당댐 앞의 유해남조 세포수를 예측하는 모델을 개발하고 성능을 평가하고자 한다. 모델 구축을 위해 2012년 4월부터 2021년 12월까지의 팔당호(삼봉리, 경안천) 및 남북한강(의암댐~이포보)권역의 조류, 수질, 수리/수문, 기상 자료를 수집하여 입력 및 출력 자료로 이용하였다. 수집된 데이터에는 다양한 입력변수들이 있어 남조 세포수 예측 성능 비교를 위한 전체 26개 변수 적용과 통계학적으로 상관관계가 높은 12개 변수 적용을 통해 모델을 구축하였다. 입력, 출력 자료로 이용한 유해남조 세포수는 로그변환된 값으로 사용하였으며 일반적인 조류 시료 채취기간이 7일이므로 7일 후를 예측하기 위한 모델을 구축하였다. 구축한 모델의 성능은 실측데이터와 예측데이터의 R2로 산출하여 평가하였다. 전체 26개 입력변수로 모델 구축 후 학습 및 검증 수행 결과 R2의 학습 0.803, 검증 0.729로 나타났고, 유해남조 세포수와 유의미한 상관관계를 보이는 12개 입력변수로 모델 구축 후 학습 및 검증 수행 R2은 학습 0.784, 검증 0.731로 나타났다. 두 모델의 성능을 살펴본 결과 입력변수 개수의 변화에 따른 성능차이는 크지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 남조세포수 예측을 위한 모델로서 활용가능함을 알 수 있었다. 향후 연구에서는 Random Forest 외 다른 기계학습 모델들과 딥러닝 모델을 통해 남조세포수 예측 성능이 높은 모델을 구축해볼 필요성이 있다.

  • The micropile, which is a kind of the in-situ manufactured pile with small diameter of 100~300mm, is constructed by installing a steel bar or pipe and injecting grout into a borehole. The application fields of micropile are being gradually expanded in a limited space of down-town area, because the micropile has various advantages with low vibration and noise in method and compact size in machine, etc. Mostly, the micropile has been applied to secure the safety of structures, depending on the increment of bearing capacity and the restraint of displacement. The micropile is expected to be used in various fields due to its effectiveness and potentiality in the future. The model test, focused on the interaction between micropile and soil in this study, was carried out. The micropile is installed under footing(concept of "structure supporting"). With the test results and soil deformation analysis, the reinforcement effect(relating to bearing capacity and settlement) was analysed in a qualitative and quantitative manner, respectively. Consequently, it is hoped to demonstrate the improvement of an efficiency and application in the design and construction of micropile.

  • 유비쿼터스 컴퓨팅의 기반 설비인 센서 네트워크는 많은 수의 센서 노드들로 구성되며, 각 센서 노드의 하드웨어는 매우 작은 규모이다. 또한 최소한의 전력 소모를 위하여 센서 노드들은 동적으로 재구성되며, 노드들 간의 통신은 무선 네트워크를 통하여 이루어진다. 센서 네트워크는 구축 목적에 따라 네트워크 토폴로지 및 라우팅 방식이 결정되어야 하고, 이와 더불어 센서 노드의 하드웨어와 소프트웨어도 필요에 따라 다양하게 변경되어야 한다. 따라서 센서 네트워즈가 구현되기 전에 시스템 동작과 성능을 예측할 수 있고 소프트웨어 개발 환경도 제공해주는 시뮬레이터가 사용 가능하다면, 시스템 개발 기간을 크게 단축시킬 수 있을 것이다. 기존의 센서 네트워크 시뮬레이터들은 특별한 응용을 위한 특정 기반의 하드웨어와 운영체제에 국한되어 개발되었기 때문에 다양한 센서 네트워크 환경을 지원하기에는 한계가 있으며, 센서 네트워크 설계상의 주요 요소인 전력 소모량 분석이 포함되지 않았다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 특정한 응용이나 운영체제에 제한을 받지 않으면서 다양하게 센서 네트워크 환경을 설계 및 검증할 수 있고 전력 소모량 추정도 가능한 시뮬레이터를 개발하는 것을 목표로 하였다. 본 연구에서 개발한 시뮬레이터는 기계명령어-레일(machine instruction-level)의 이산-사건 시뮬레이션(discrete-event simulation) 기법을 이용함으로써 실제 센서 노드의 프로그램 실행 및 관련 동작들을 세부적으로 예측하는 데 사용될 수 있도록 하였다. 시뮬레이션의 작업부하(Workload)인 명령어 트레이스(instruction trace)로는 ATmega128L 마이크로컨트롤러용으로 크로스 컴파일된 인텔 헥스-레코드 형식(.hex) 또는 S-레코드 형식(.srec)의 파일을 사용한다.들을 해결하고자 프라이버시보호에 새로운 키 생성 방법을 통한 강력한 프로토콜을 제안 한다.하였으나 사료효율은 증진시켰으며, 후자(사양, 사료)와의 상호작용은 나타나지 않았다. 이상의 결과는 거세비육돈에서 1) androgen과 estrogen은 공히 자발적인 사료섭취와 등지방 침적을 억제하고 IGF-I 분비를 증가시키며, 2) 성선스테로이드호르몬의 이 같은 성장에 미치는 효과의 일부는 IGF-I을 통해 매개될 수도 있을을 시사한다. 약 $70 {\~} 90\%$의 phenoxyethanol이 유상에 존재하였다. 또한, 미생물에 대한 항균력도 phenoxyethanol이 수상에 많이 존재할수록 증가하는 경향을 나타내었다. 따라서, 제형 내 oil tomposition을 변화시킴으로써 phenoxyethanol의 사용량을 줄일 수 있을 뿐만 아니라, 피부 투과를 감소시켜 보다 피부 자극이 적은 저자극 방부시스템 개발이 가능하리라 보여 진다. 첨가하여 제조한 curd yoghurt는 저장성과 관능적인 면에서 우수한 상품적 가치가 인정되는 새로운 기능성 신제품의 개발에 기여할 수 있을 것으로 사료되었다. 여자의 경우 0.8이상이 되어서 심혈관계 질환의 위험 범위에 속하는 수준이었다. 삼두근의 두겹 두께는 남녀 각각 $20.2\pm8.58cm,\;22.2\pm4.40mm$으로 남녀간에 유의한 차이는 없었다. 조사대상자의 식습관 상태는 전체 대상자의 $84.4\%$가 대부분이 하루 세끼 식사를 규칙적으로 하고 있었으며 식사속도는 허겁지겁 빨리 섭취하는 경우가 남자는 $31.0\%$, 여자는 $21.4\%$로 나타났고 이들을 제외한 나머지 사람들은 보통 속도 혹은 충분한 시간을 가지고 식사를 하였

Estimation of Fatigue Crack Growth Behavior of Cracked Specimen Under Mixed-mode Loads (혼합모드 하중을 받는 균열시편의 피로균열진전거동 평가)

  • To estimate the fatigue crack propagation behavior of compact tension shear (CTS) specimen under mixed-mode loads, crack path prediction theories and Tanaka's equation were applied. The stress intensity factor at a newly created crack tip was calculated using a finite element method via ANSYS, and the crack path and crack increment were then obtained from the crack path prediction theories, Tanaka's equation, and the Paris' equation, which were preprogrammed in Microsoft Excel. A new method called the finite element crack tip updating method (FECTUM) was developed. In this method, the finite element method and Microsoft Excel are used to calculate the stress intensity factors and the crack path, respectively, at the crack tip per each crack increment. The developed FECTUM was applied to simulate the fatigue crack propagation of a single-edge notched bending (SENB) specimen under eccentric three-point bending loads. The results showed that the number of cycles to failure of the specimen obtained experimentally and numerically were in good agreement within an error range of less than 3%.

  • In bioscience and biotechnology, the research of fundamental life mechanisms and their diseases caused by insufficiency is important. The study of a whole organism is difficult and sometimes impossible because of DNA, RNA, proteins, cellular organelles, various cells, and organs. Cell cultures can provide a simple method for researching cellular mechanisms and conditions, both in terms of physiological performance, and in response to chemical stimulation. According to conventional cell culture methodology, the flat surface is used with surface treatments for cell adhesion on the surface. Micro- and nanoscale patterns have been developed with chemical and biochemical modifications for cell immobilization. In this study, HeLa cell culture on nanostructures patterns was studied, including the 300 nm line and 150 nm pillar structures, using nanoimprint lithography and pyrrole as a biocompatible conducting polymer.

Development of Intelligent Multiple Camera System for High-Speed Impact Experiment (고속충돌 시험용 지능형 다중 카메라 시스템 개발)

  • A single-crystal sapphire is used as a transparent bulletproof window material; however, few studies have investigated the dynamic behavior and fracture properties under high-speed impact. High-speed and high-resolution sequential images are required to study the interaction of the bullet with the brittle ceramic materials. In this study, a device is developed to capture the sequence of high-speed impact/penetration phenomena. This system consists of a speed measurement device, a microprocessor-based camera controller, and multiple CCD cameras. By using a linear array sensor, the speed-measuring device can measure a small (diameter: up to 1 2 mm) and fast (speed: up to Mach 3) bullet. Once a bullet is launched, it passes through the speed measurement device where its time and speed is recorded, and then, the camera controller computes the exact time of arrival to the target during flight. Then, it sends the trigger signal to the cameras and flashes with a specific delay to capture the impact images sequentially. It is almost impossible to capture high-speed images without the estimation of the time of arrival. We were able to capture high-speed images using the new system with precise accuracy.

  • In this paper, the analyses of the stress disturibution and frequency characteristics of silicon microstructures for an accelerometer were performed using the general purpose finite element simulation program, ANSYS. From the analyses, we determined the parameter values of a new 6-beam piezoresistive accelerometer applicable to the accelerometer's specification in airbag system of automobile. Then, the mass paddle radius, beam length, beam width, and beam thickness of the designed accelerometer were$500{\mu}m$, $350{\mu}m$, $100{\mu}m$, and $5{\mu}m$, respectively and two different seismic masses with 0.4 mg and 0.8 mg were defined on the same sensor structure. The designed 6- beam accelerometers were fabricated on the selectively diffused (111)-oriented $n/n^{+}/n$ silicon substrates and the characteristics of the fabricated accelerometers were investigated. Then, we used a micromachining technique using porous silicon etching method for the formation of the micromechanical structure of the accelerometer.

A Multicellular Spheroid Formation and Extraction Chip Using Removable Cell Trapping Barriers (한시적 세포포집 구조물을 이용한 다세포 스페로이드 형성 및 추출칩)

  • We propose a spheroid chip that uses removable cell trapping barriers and that is capable of forming and extracting multicellular spheroids. By using a conventional well plate and flask, it is difficult to form small-sized spheroids, which resemble avascular 3D cell-cell interaction. It was difficult to extract spheroids using conventional microchips and fixed cell trapping barriers. The proposed chip, however, facilitates both formation and extraction of spheroids by using removable cell trapping barriers formed by membrane deflection. The cell trapping barriers, formed at the membrane pressure of 50 kPa, hold the cells in the trapping region at a cell inlet pressure of 145.155 Pa. After incubation for 24 h, the trapped cells form uniform spheroids. We successfully extract the spheroids at a cell inlet pressure of 5 kPa after removing the membrane pressure. The extracted spheroids have a diameter of $197.2{\pm}11.7Bm$ with a viability of $80.3{\pm}7.7%$. Using the proposed chip, uniform spheroids can be formed and these spheroids can be safely extracted for carrying out the post-processing of spheroids.
