Durability Improvement of Functional Polymer Film by Heat Treatment and Micro/nano Hierarchical Structure for Display Applications (열처리와 복합구조화를 통한 디스플레이용 기능성 고분자 필름의 내구성 향상 연구)

  • In this study, the effects of the heat treatment and multi-scale hierarchical structures on the durability of the nano-patterned functional PMMA(Poly(methyl-methacrylate)) film was evaluated. The heat treatments that consisted of high-pressure/high-temperature flat pressing and rapid cooling process were employed to improve mechanical property of the PMMA films. Multi-scale hierarchical structures were fabricated by thermal nanoimprint to protect nano-scale structures from the scratch. Examination on surface structures and functionalities such as wetting angle and transmittance revealed that the preopposed heat treatment and multi-scale hierarchical structures are effective to minimize surface damages.

  • Room temperature ferromagnetism of Co doped ZnO was studied using (ZnO/Co) multilayer structure, and the effects of ZnO sub-layer thickness on the RT ferromagnetism was investigated. As for the as-deposited state, the diamagnetism was observed for ($ZnO\;20{\AA}/Co\;x{\AA}$) while the ferromagnetism was observed for ($ZnO\;40{\AA}/Co\;x{\AA}$). After vacuum-annealed, both showed the RT ferromagnetism and ($ZnO\;40{\AA}/Co\;x{\AA}$) structure interestingly showed negative remanence magnetization behavior. UV-Vis spectrometer revealed that Co atoms were substituted with Zn in ZnO and Co cluster was not found in XPS and HRTEM EDS analysis.

  • 모세관 전기영동 및 전기화학적 검출 시스템을 마이크로 시스템에 적용하여 ITO 유리기판과 polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS)로 제작하였다. 제작된 모세관 전기영동 및 전기화학적 검출 시스템은 일회용으로 사용가능하며 전기화학적 검출에 아주 적합한 특성을 보인다. 모세관 전기영동 및 전기화학적 검출 시스템은 주입과 분리 채널 (80 ${\mu}m$${\sim}$ 40 ${\mu}m$ 깊이)을 가진 PDMS 층과 유리기판 위에 검출 전극으로 사용되는 ITO가 형성된 층으로 구성된다. PDMS 층과 ITO 유리 기판은 UV-$O_3$ cleaner를 사용하여 접합하였다. 완충용액은 10 mM 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid (MES)를 사용하였고 분석물질은 1 mM 농도의 dopamine과 1 mM 농도의 catechol을 사용하였다. 60 V/cm 전계로 주입 및 분리를 하였으며 작업전극과 기준전극 간의 전위는 +600 mV로 유지하며 분석물질의 농도에 비례하는 전류량법으로 측정하였다. 전기화학적 검출 회로는 천기영동 전계의 간섭으로부터 분리하였다. 10 mM MES 완충용액에서 바탕 전류의 크기가 ${\sim}$10 pA 일 때 측정전류 값은 10 nA이다. 측정된 피크 값은 기존의 Au 전극과 비교하여 선택성, 감도, 분해능이 유사한 특성을 보여준다.

A 2012 Size Multilayer LTCC BPE for 2.4 GHz Band (2.4 GHz 대역 2012사이즈 적층 LTCC 대역통과 필터의 설계 및 제작)

  • A very small size 2.4 GHz ISM band BPF(Band Pass Filter) is realized using LTCC Multi-layer technology. Proposed design method enables to achieve BPF size $2.0\times1.2\times0.8mm^3$. A $lambda/4$ resonator with shunt-to-ground loaded capacitor is used to shorten resonator length, achieving higher quality factor. Also this resonator enables BPF to improve out-of-band rejection. Coupling coefficients between coupled strip-line resonators and external quality factor (Qe) of a resonator are derived and applied to the filter design. The measured results show good agreement with simulated data.

Effects of Static Contact Angle and Roughness on Rolling Resistance of Droplet (액적의 구름저항에 대한 정접촉각 및 거칠기의 영향)

  • In this study, the effects of the contact angle (CA) and contact angle hyteresis (CAH) of planar and nano-patterned surfaces on rolling resistance of water droplet were studied. Based on the investigation on the CAH of water droplet on surfaces with various static wettability, it was found that the rolling resistance coefficient of water droplet is highly influenced by the surface pattern as well as CAH. The observed results suggest that the optimal surface patterns should be designed in order to minimize the rolling resistance of water droplet for the practical applications where superhydrophocitiy is required.

The Oxidation of Kovar in Humidified $N_2$/H$_2$ Atmosphere (가습된 $N_2$/H$_2$혼합가스 분위기에서의 Kovar 산화 거동)

  • In order to form a uniform oxidation layer of spinel phase on Kovar which helps the strong bonding in Kovar-to-glass sealing, the humidified $N_2/H_2$ was used as an oxidation atmosphere. The oxidation of Kovar was controlled by diffusion mechanism and the activation energy was 31.61 kacl/mol at 500~$800^{\circ}C$. After oxidation at $600^{\circ}C$, the external oxidation layer was below 0.5 $\mu \textrm{m}$ thick. According to TEM analysis, oxidized Kovar was spinel its lattice parameter of 7.9 $\AA$. Oxidation of under $600^{\circ}C$ and in a humidified $N_2/H_2$ atmosphere, Kovar was found to be appropriate for the Kovar-to-glass sealing.

  • For photosensitive and micro-structuring in $Li_2O-A1_2O_3-SiO_2$glasses by laser treatment, Nd:YAG laser in 355 nm and 1064 nm wavelength was irradiated to the glass to investigate fracture characterization and optical changes. The fractured glass surfaces irradiated by 1064 nm laser was observed by Scanning Electron Microscope(SEM) and optical microscope, and optical changes caused by 355 nm later was identified from absorption spectra. In this study, it could be expected that the laser treatment technology will be utilized for 3-dimensional micro-structure, internal waveguide, optical memory by optical absorption changes in glass matrix.

  • 크롬산 용액에 황산을 촉매로 하여 Sargent에 의해 개발된 크롬도금은 경도, 내식성, 내마모성 등의 특성이 우수하다. 이로 인해 장식용 박막 도금뿐만 아니라 경질의 후막 도금층을 형성이 가능함으로써 기계 부품류를 비롯한 산업 전반에 걸쳐 폭넓게 적용되고 있다. 이러한 크롬도금이 적용된 소재부품에 대해 장수명화와 더불어 가혹한 환경에서의 사용요구가 점차 증가하고 있으며, 이를 위해서는 보다 더 우수한 내식성과 기계적 물성을 확보해야할 필요성이 높다. 한편 경질 크롬 도금의 내식성과 관련해 도금 과정에서 발생하는 마이크로 크랙에 의해 제품의 내식성의 한계를 나타내게 된다. 본 연구에서는 내식성이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 표면 경도가 우수한 도금층을 얻기 위해 도금 전류 조건으로 펄스 전류를 적용하는 방안을 시도한 것으로 펄스전류를 적용하여 경질크롬도금 시 크랙 발생에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 도금욕은 일반적인 경질크롬도금에 사용되는 Sargent 욕을 이용하였고, duty ratio를 조절하여 전류 조건 변화에 따른 단면 내 크랙의 수 변화를 관찰하여 최적의 전류 조건을 도출하였다. 그리고 도출된 전류 조건을 이용해 도금 두께에 따른 크랙 수 변화를 관찰하였고, 이때의 경도를 측정하였다. 또한 XRD 분석을 통해 도금 전류 조건 및 시간 변화에 따른 결정구조 변화를 확인하였다. 실험결과 펄스 전류를 적용하는 경우, 기존 직류 적용 시에 비해 크랙 발생을 현저하게 감소시킬 수 있었으며, 사실상 크랙프리(Crack free) 도금이 가능하였다. 또한 크랙의 감소와 함께 경도 저하가 나타나게 되나 펄스 전류 인자의 최적화에 따라 이러한 경도 저하 현상의 최소화가 가능하였다.

  • Photoimageable thick film technology is a new technology in that the lithography process such as exposure and development is applied to the conventional thick film process. Line resolution of 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ width and 25 $\mu\textrm{m}$ space could be obtained by laminating green sheet, printing photoimageable Ag paste, exposing the test patterns, developing, and co-firing. In case of using the alumina substrate, 20 $\mu\textrm{m}$ fine line could be also obtained by similar process. Test results showed that exposing power density and developing time were the most important processing parameters for the fine line formation. Microstrip and series gap resonators with well-defined line morphology and good transmission characteristics in high frequency were formed by this new technology, and thereby dielectric constant and loss of test substrate were calculated.
