Characteristics of Mineral Mg Dissolving Sensor in Edible Water using GMR-SV Device (거대자기저항 스핀밸브 소자를 이용한 음용수 미네랄 Mg 용해센서 특성 연구)

  • The measurement dissolution sensor system using GMR-SV device with magnetic sensitivity of 0.8 %/Oe and Mg-film thick of 200 nm and Mg-foil thick of 50 mm was fabricated and characterized. During the water dissolving process of Mg-film and Mg-foil, the subtle variation of magnetic field by the decrease of current in solenoid was detected by the GMR-SV sensor. The variations of Mg bubble number and ORP as a function of time for three different kinds of edible, tap, and distilled water, are measured and compared. A After 45 min, the speed of fast dissolving Mg was shown the order of edible > tap > DI water. The variation of output magnetoresistance as a function of dissolved time of Mg-film and Mg-foil for edible water, which is composed of mineral content of $0.8{\sim}5.4\;mg/l$ was investigated. The response times for the dissolution in edible water were 5 min and 20 min, respectively. From the measurement of dissolving time and speed for Mg-film and Mg-foil using GMR-SV device, the mineral Mg sensor system in edible water can be possible to develop.

  • SEM, stereo-microscope, XRD, scale-removal experiment were used for the study of mineralogical characteristics and possibilities of removal and depress of scales in water pipe. Scales are mostly composed mainly of iron minerals with minor Si and Ca containing minerals. This experimental study showed that the combination of Mg and brass was most effective on removing scales.

Nutrient Distribution and Requirements of Jinok, Hongisul Grapevine Bred in Korea (국내 신품종 포도 품종 진옥, 홍이슬의 수체양분분포 및 양분요구도)

  • Nutrient uptake of each part of grapevine in the new grapevine cultivars (Jinok, Hongisul) was analyzed for making standard of annual fertilizations at four years. One year grown diploid cultivar 'Jinok' was showed more vigorous growth of root than other cultivar. Annually total nutrient of grapevine was absorbed with the same ratio of three major nutrients (Nitrogen, Phosphate, and Potassium). However about 30% of total absorbed nutrient of 3~4 year grown grapevine was distributed bunches. Potassium was measured as major nutrient in the bunch, accumulated in the peel and flesh (about 1% of D.W.). Magnesium was mainly accumulated in the petiole (about 1% of D.W.). Calcium has accumulated in the leaf (about 0.95% of D.W.), that concentration in this part was similar concentration of nitrogen (about 1.25% of D.W.). Nutrient requirement of four year grown 'Jinok' (N; 55.5 g, P; 7.7 g, K; 42.0 g, Ca; 34.6 g, Mg; 11.1 g) required less fertilizers than 'Campbell Early' (N; 57.4 g, P; 7.9 g, K; 44.4 g, Ca; 37.3 g, Mg; 12.2 g) needed. 'Hongisul' required less fertilizers compared to other grapevine cultivars, but cultural practice system for production of grape should be develop to improve their poor bud burst and fruit set.

  • 황토는 주로 가는 모래로 되어 있어서 다량의 석영, 장석, 운모 등 다양한 광물 입자로 구성되어 있고 탄산칼슘(CaCO₃), 철(Fe), 마그네슘(Mg), 나트륨(Na), 칼리(K) 등의 성분으로 되어 있다. 황토는 다양한 약성원소를 포함하고 있다. 그것은 특히 제독 능력을 높여줄 뿐 아니라 항균 작용도 하며, 지혈제인 동시에 응고제로 매우 뛰어난 치료효과를 보여준다. 황토의 효능은 숯의 효능과 다를 바가 없으며, 어느 것이 더 우월한 지에 대한 비교를 할 수 없을 정도로 그 약성에 있어서 유사하다. (중략)

Evaluation of Nutrient Condition and Fruit Quality of 'Campbell Early' Grapevines in Hwaseong Area (화성지역 '캠벨얼리' 포도원의 수체영양과 과실품질의 평가)

  • This study was conducted to investigate the nutrition status, growth and fruit quality of 'Campbell Early' grapes in Hwaseong area. Organic matter content of 3 vineyard soils was significantly lower than standard value. P2O5 and K contents of Y vineyard and P2O5 of C vineyard were very high. But there were no significant differences in contents of Ca, Mg and CEC. Compared to the standard value. T-N, Ca and Mg contents of petiole were adequate. P2O5 contents of Y and C vineyard and K contents of Y vineyard were significantly higher than standard value. Berry firmness, color and bloom occurrence on fruit skin showed no differences among 3 vineyard. Soluble solids content poorly, yield per tree and goods fruit of C vineyard decreased significantly compared to the fruit in Y and H vineyards. Russetted fruit of Y vineyard, colored fruit of H vineyard, and unfertilized fruit, cracked fruit, and bitter rot were observed frequently.

  • Drinking water has lots of minerals, especially calcium, sodium, kalium, magnesium, and fluoride must be labelled on the bottle about their contents. Minerals like calcium, magnesium, and fluoride have influence to the tooth development. Appropriately taking some minerals, dental caries can be prevented somewhat degree. There is no guide line about innoxious minerals like calcium and magnesium, however, noxious mineral like fluoride, should be contained less than 2 mgF/L according to the current drinking water standard. Hereupon, it is necessary to recognize the concentration of fluoride in drinking water, so I studied 15 samples of domestic drinking water on sale about the concentration of calcium and magnesium, fluoride. The results obtained were as follows ; 1. 14 drinking waters in 15 samples showed various Ca concentration. The average Ca concentration is 34.68${\pm}$31.84 mg/L, the highest is 128.91${\pm}$1.85 mg/L and the lowest is 2.0${\pm}$0.02 mg/L. 2. 13 drinking waters in 15 samples indicate the Mg concentration. The average concentration is 9.22${\pm}$11.06 mg/L, the highest is 30.43${\pm}$0.75 mg/L and the lowest is 0.0 mg/L. 3. 11 drinking waters in 15 samples indicate the F concentration. The average concentration is 0.25${\pm}$0.33 mg/L, the highest is 1.13${\pm}$0.04 mg/L and the lowest is 0.01${\pm}$0.03 mg/L. All samples are satisfied the current drinking water standard, 2 mg F/L.

Changes in the Quality of Salted Eggplants during Storage (수출용 절임가지의 저장중에 품질변화)

  • 본 연구는 수출용 가지를 최적 염절임 조건으로 절임한 후 저장 중 품질 변화에 대하여 조사하였다. 저장 기간이 길어질수록 모든 조건에서 명도와 황색도는 증가하지만, 진공포장한 절임가지의 명도와 황색도는 침지저장한 것에 비해 변화가 적었다. 절임가지의 염도는 절임초기에는 축양 품종과 시키부 품종에서 각각 24.67, 20.27%이었으며 진공포장 한 것은 저장 5일 이후에는 변화가 없었으나, 침지저장 한 것에는 저장중에 계속 감소하였다. pH의 변화는 품종과 저장방법에 관계없이 저장중에 감소하였으며, 수분함량은 절임중에 급격하게 감소하여 축양 품종과 시키부 품종에서 각각 79.93, 82.56%이었으며, 진공포장하여 저장한 절임가지에서는 5일째에 증가하였고 이후에는 변화가 없었으나. 침지저장 방법에서는 두 품종 모두 15일까지 증가하였다. 또한 수용성 단백질 함량의 변화도 수분 함량의 변화와 비슷하였다 비타민 C의 함량은 생가지 보다 두 품종 모두 최적조건으로 염절임 한 가지에서 높아 축양 품종과 시키부 품종에서 각각 21.41, 24.53 mg/100g이었으며, 저장중에 그 함량이 감소하였고, 진공포장 저장한 방법이 침지저장한 방법에 비해 감소하는 경향이 적었다 저장기간에 길어질수록 나트륨과 마그네슘의 함량은 감소하였으나 반대로 칼륨의 함량은 증가하였고 특히 침지저장한 방법에서 이와 같은 변화가 두드러졌다.

Nonmagnetic Impurity Effect in $CuF_{2}.2H_{2}O$ ($CuF_{2}.2H_{2}O$에서의 비자성 불순물 효과)

  • We have measured the magnetic susceptibilities of a CuF/sub 2/ .center dot. 2H/sub 2/O sample by means of the SQUID(superconducting quantum interference device) at the magnetic fields of 0.5 T and 1 mT, in the temperature range 5-300 K. The sample was found to contain some nonmagnetic calcium and magnesium impurities by the elemental analysis. Our measurements differ from known results for pure Cu F/sub 2/ .center dot. 2H/sub 2/O and are well explained by the effect of the nonmagnetic impurities in our sample. The purity of our sample derived from the temperature dependence of the susceptibilities was compared with that from the elemental analysis.

Effect of Magnesium deficiency on Chlorosis and Fruit Quality of Grapevine (마그네슘 결핍이 포도나무의 황화현상 발생과 포도 품질에 미치는 영향)

  • Grape fruit quality can be deteriorated with leaf chlorosis caused by magnesium (Mg) deficiency during fruit coloring season in several grapevine varieties. The occurrence of leaf chlorosis and soil Mg states for four grapevine varieties (Campbell Early, Muscat bailey A (MBA), Sheridan, and Kyoho) in the vineyards of Gyeongsan and Youngcheon were surveyed. The relationships between leaf chlorosis and fruit qualities were also investigated. Leaf chlorosis was more widely found and the symptom was stronger in Campbell Early in comparison to the other varieties. Sugar content and Hunter values (L, a, b) of grape fruit were significantly lower in the trees of chlorosis when compare to healthy grapevine trees. Soil Mg contents in the vineyards where leaf chlorosis was found were lower than the optimum level for grapevine. Also Mg content in the petioles of chlorosis grapevines was significantly lower than healthy grapevines. Application of Mg through foliar spray and soil fertigation was quite effective in correcting deficiencies of Mg in grapevine. Proper management of soil Mg availability and K/Mg ratio is strongly recommended to prevent Mg deficiency in grapevine.
