Thermal Characteristic Analysis of a High-Speed HMC with Linear Motor and Magnetic Bearing (리니어모터와 자기베어링을 채용한 초고속 HMC의 열특성 해석)

  • This paper presents the thermal characteristic analysis of a high-speed HMC with spindle speed of 50,000rpm. The spindle is supported by two radial and axial magnetic bearings. and the built-in motor is located between the axial and rear radial magnetic bearings. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of linear motor and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of servo-motor, ballscrew and linear motion guide. The thermal analysis model of high-speed HMC is constructed by the finite element method, and the thermal characteristics in the design stage are estimated based on the temperature distribution and thermal deformation under the conditions related to the heat generation of built-in motor, magnetic bearings, linear motors, servo-motor, ballscrew, and so on.

  • Linear motors are efficient mechanism that offers high speed and positioning accuracy. By eliminating mechanical transmission mechanisms such as ball screw or rack-pinion, much higher speed and greater acceleration can be achieved without backlash or excessive friction. However, an important disadvantage of linear motor system is its high power loss and heating up of motor and neighboring machine components on operation. For the application of the linear motors to precision machine tools an effective cooling method and thermal optimizing measures are required. This paper presents an investigation into the thermal behavior of linear motors with the objective of deriving the optimum cooling conditions. To reach these goals several experiments were carried out, varying operating and cooling conditions. From the experimental results, this research proposed cooling conditions to improve the thermal characteristics of the linear motors.

  • From linear motor feed system model, two axis control rules have been applied. As an application process, a flexible disk grinding system process has been also introduced that utilized varying disk orientation with respect to workpiece along with the applied feed speed. A known process model methodologies has been used to fomulate processed surface profiles. Various process conditions including cutting speed, maximum feed speed and orientation angles could applied to observe process results sensitivities. Even though continuous and constant feed speed has been applied to the process, the results from the trapezoidal input velocity profiles would be observed and compared.

  • The ultrasonic piezo motor is a new type motor that has an excellent performance and many useful features that electromagnetic motors do not have. But, it suffers from severe system non-linearities and parameter variations especially during speed control. Therefore, it is difficult to accomplish satisfactory control performance by using the conventional PID controller. In this paper, to achieve the precise control for linear type ultrasonic motor was analyzed as a function of response time and change with a driving time. Also, we propose controller that combines STEP controller and PD controller that have error of ${\mu}m$ about liner type ultrasonic motor.

  • A Hybrid type Linear Pulse Motor(LPM) for low cost is designed as single side stator structure. The static and dynamic characteristics measurement systems are designed. Experimental measurement systems, which measure the static and dynamic characteristic of the LPM, are uggested for the prototype LPM. It becomes known the values of the thrust forces. Finally the microstep drive method is adopted to the drive of prototype LPM. The waveform difference is measured between the microstep method and rectangular wave. From the experimental results, it can be confirmed that the repetitive ripple of the thrust force of the prototype LPM are reduced by taking the microstep drive method.

  • 본 논문에서는 새로운 형태의 철도 차량용 추진 시스템인 리니어펄스모터의 구조적 특징을 분석하고 그 구조적 특징으로 발생하는 문제점의 해결방안을 제시한다. 따라서 지상에 포설되는 2상의 고정자 상권선 중 A상 권선 상부에 B상 권선이 적층되어 포설되는 특징으로 인하여 발생하는 일종의 토크 리플 성분을 저감하기 위한 기법을 제시하며 모의실험 및 실제 실험을 통하여 제시한 토크 리플 저감 기법의 타당성을 검증한다.

  • 두개의 유니모프 진동자를 이용한 새로운 형상의 마이크로 초음파 리니어 모터를 제안하였다. 유니모프 진동자는 금속판에 판상의 압전소자가 접착되어 있으며, 두개의 유니모프 진동자가 삼각형상의 진동 커플러에 의해 연결되어 스테이터를 구성한다. 스테이터는 두 가지 진동모드(대칭모드와 비 대칭모드)를 가지고 있으며, 이 두 진동모드가 축퇴되도록 설계하였다. 스테이터의 대칭모드와 비 대칭모드를 위상차 $90^{\circ}$로 여진시킴으로써 이동체의 직선(또는 회전) 운동을 발생시킬 수 있다. 시작기 모터는 놀이 0.9 mm, 폭 1 mm, 길이 7.5 mm이며, 구동전압 $100V_{op}$, 구동주파수 300 kHz로 구동되어, 모터 최대속도 0.3 m/s, 최대 추력 6 mN을 달성하였다.

  • This paper presents the structural characteristics analysis of a high-speed horizontal machining center with spindle speed of 50, 000rpm and feedrate of 120m/min. The spindle system is designed based on the built-in motor, angular contact ceramic ball bearings, oil-air lubrication and oil-jacket cooling method. The X-axis and Y-axis feeding systems are composed of the linear motor and linear motion guides, and the Z-axis feeding system is composed of the servo-motor, ball screw and linear motion guide. The structural analysis model of the high-speed horizontal machining center is constructed by the finite element method, and the validity of structural design is estimated based on the structural deformation of the high-speed horizontal machining center and spindle nose caused by the gravity and inertia forces.
