  • In the paper, an intelligent biped walking robot that can overcome the obstacle is developed. Walking algorithms are designed based on the analysis of the human's manner of walking. Infrared sensors are used to detect the obstacles in the working environment and the remote controller of the biped robot use a RF module. The experiment results show that the developed biped walking robot can perform the stable static walking, attention walking, rotation and side stepping to avoid the obstacle, and hurdling the obstacle using the distance correction algorithm that is designed based on the distance information between the biped robot and the obstacle.

  • The forces and moments exerted on humanoid robot foot are important information for controlling or monitoring the robot. Multi-axis force/moment sensor can be installed under humanoid robot foot to measure forces and moments. The sensor should have large stiffness to support the robot weight and small size not to disturb the motion of the robot. In this paper, we designed a 6-aixs force/moment sensor which has good accuracy, large measuring range, and new compact structure. In addition, the proposed sensor is evaluated using analytical method and FEM(Finite Elements Method) method. Finally, it turned out that it has good performance.

  • In order to let the humanoid robot walk on the uneven terrains, the robot's foot should have the similar structure and function as human's. The intelligent foot should be made up of toes and heel. When it walks on the uneven terrains, the foot's sole senses the force and adjusts foot's position before robot losing his balance. In this paper, the force sensors of robot's intelligent foot for having the similar structure and function like human are developed. The heel 3-axis force/moment sensor and toe force sensors for humanoid robot's intelligent foot is developed, and the characteristic tests of them are carried out. As a result of characteristic test, the interference error of the heel 3-axis force/moment sensor is less than 2.2%. It is thought that the developed force sensors could be used to measure the reaction forces which is applied the toes and the heel of a humanoid robot.

  • The biped robot has the better mobility than the conventional wheeled robot. Since a biped robot tends to tip over easily, it is necessary to take stability into account when determining a walking pattern. To ensure the dynamic stability of the biped robot, we have to adapt the ground conditions with a foot motion and maintain motion, and ensure its stability through the kinematics and dynamics analysis. But its mathematic model is not too easy. In this paper, in order to ensure the dynamic stability of a biped robot, we design the fuzzy model and confirm the realization possibility of the proposed method through some simulations.
