XML DTD IDREF-lD Modeling using the Field Ordering of RDB Structure (필드 순서화를 이용한 RDB구조의 IHHL DTD IDREF-ID 모델링)

  • 현재 관계형 데이터베이스상에 XML문서를 저장하거나 추출하는 연구들이 진행중이며 이미 ADO(Active Data Object) 2.5와 SQL Server 2000에서는 각각 일차원적인 구조를 가진 레코드셋을 XML 문서로 반환하거나 조인(Join)된 구조를 XML로 직접 추출해 내고 있다. 하지만 이러한 기술들은 계속 성숙되고 있는 단계이며, 관계형 데이터베이스의 테이블간의 다대 다 관계와 같이 IDREF-lD로 표현되어야 하는 복잡한 관계를 처리하지는 못하고 있다. 이에 본 논문에서는 사전에 XML과 관련 없이 저장된 데이터베이스에서 추출된 내용들에 대해 XML 문서 형식들을 적용하고자 했을 때 참조할 DTD(Document Type Definition)의 생성과정에서 필드. 순서화를 이용한 IDREF-lD의 모델링 방식을 제안한다.

A Study on Quantitative Measurement of Metadata Quality for Journal Articles (학술지 기사에 대한 메타데이터 품질의 계량화 방법에 관한 연구)

  • Most metadata quality measurement employ simple techniques by counting error records. This study presents a new quantitative measurement of metadata quality using advanced weighting schemes in order to overcome the limitations of exiting measurement techniques. Entropy, user tasks, and usage statistics were used to calculate the weights. Integrated weights were presented by combining these weights and were applied to actual journal article metadata. Entropy weights were found to reflect the characteristics of the data itself. User tasks presented the required metadata elements to solve user's information need. Integrated weights showed balanced measures without being affected by the influence of error elements, This finding indicates the new method being suitable for quantitative measurement of metadata quality.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of OPAC displays of the National Library of Korea and the Library of Congress. based on the 'OPAC Display Guidelines(Draft)' published by IFLA. Discussed are such topics as a basic search process and the headings list, a brief display and the arrangement of bibliographic records, a brief record and a full record, use of terms and labels. link between records, and organization of screens for the OPAC display. It is strongly suggested that when compared with the LC's OPAC, the OPAC display of the National Library of Korea should be much improved by following the recommendations of the 'OPAC Display Guidelines(Draft)'.

A Study on the Applicability of ISNI for Authority Control (전거제어를 위한 국제표준이름식별자(ISNI)의 활용가능성에 관한 연구)

  • This study was to investigate the concept of ISNI and to find its availability in authority control, realizing importance of ISNI as the bridge identifier including all the information media content industries. ISNI is needed for global and comprehensive name authority control as the bridge identifier for the identification of public identities of parties involved throughout the information media content industries in the creation, production, management and content distribution chains. First of all, it was to inquire ISNI concept, goal, terms and definitions, structure and syntax, allocation of ISNI, administration of the ISNI system, and metadata. Next, it was to suggest the applicability of ISNI in authority control. First, it should be needed to consider in applying ISNI for cooperative authority control. It is possible to interactively use the authority data created in library and other information industries area by constructing KISNI system. Second, it is possible to construct linked data by linking various identifier through ISNI identifier as bridge identifier. Third, it is needed to develop KORMARC for describing ISNI identifier in KORMARC bibliographic and authority record.

An Experimental Study on AutoEncoder to Detect Botnet Traffic Using NetFlow-Timewindow Scheme: Revisited (넷플로우-타임윈도우 기반 봇넷 검출을 위한 오토엔코더 실험적 재고찰)

  • Botnets, whose attack patterns are becoming more sophisticated and diverse, are recognized as one of the most serious cybersecurity threats today. This paper revisits the experimental results of botnet detection using autoencoder, a semi-supervised deep learning model, for UGR and CTU-13 data sets. To prepare the input vectors of autoencoder, we create data points by grouping the NetFlow records into sliding windows based on source IP address and aggregating them to form features. In particular, we discover a simple power-law; that is the number of data points that have some flow-degree is proportional to the number of NetFlow records aggregated in them. Moreover, we show that our power-law fits the real data very well resulting in correlation coefficients of 97% or higher. We also show that this power-law has an impact on the learning of autoencoder and, as a result, influences the performance of botnet detection. Furthermore, we evaluate the performance of autoencoder using the area under the Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curve.

  • In the library catalog, the scalability of information acquisition can be guaranteed by expressing various relationships existing between resources. Such a bibliographical relationship can be realized through the authority record. Therefore, the revision of 「KORMARC Format for Authority Data」, the national standard for authority records, is inevitably important. Therefore, for the revision of 「KORMARC Format for Authority Data」, (1) the latest international cataloging trends were analyzed, (2) the opinions of librarians were collected, (3) internal guidelines used for authority work were analyzed, and (4) latest version of MARC21 were analyzed. In addition, for the continuous revision of 「KORMARC Format for Authority Data」, the revision procedure of MARC21 was investigated to draw implications for the KORMARC revision method. Data was collected and utilized through literature reviews, MARC21 analysis, interviews with professors and librarians.

  • The research of the preserving privacy of sensitive information has been popular recently. Many researches about the techniques of generalizing records under k-anonymity rules have been done. Considering that data anonymity requires a lot of time and resources, it would be important to decide whether a table is vulnerable to privacy attacks before being opened in terms of the improvement of data utilization as well as the privacy protection. It is also important to check to which attack the table is vulnerable and which of anonymity methods should be applied in the table. This paper describe two possible privacy attacks based upon related references. Also, we suggest the technique to check whether data table is vulnerable to any attack of them and describe what kind of anonymity methods should be done in the table. The technique we suggest in this paper can also be applied for checking the safety of anonymity tables in which insert or delete operations occurred as well from privacy attacks.

Construction and Validation of a Data Synchronization Server supporting OMA DS Standards (OMA DS 표준을 지원하는 자료동기화 서버 구축 및 적합성 검증)

  • In this paper, a DS (Data Synchronization) server for mobile communication environments is constructed and the suitability and the performance of its operations are validated. The DS server provides a way to update the newest data and keep data consistency for clients (mobile devices). In addition, the DS server constructed in this paper supports various synchronization types, and detects all changes and conflicts. In case of data conflicts, the DS server resolves the conflicts according to the several policies implemented in this work. The DS server conforms to the OMA(Open Mobile Alliance) DS standard protocol for interoperability with other mobile devices and servers. In addition to the transmission-by record scheme proposed by the OMA DS standard protocol, the DS server constructed in this paper also provides the transmission-by field scheme for the enhancement transmission performance between the server and clients. In order to validate its operations, data synchronization between the DS server and the SCTS (SyncML Conformance Test Suit), the suitability validation tool provided by the OMA, is performed. The validation results show that the DS server constructed in this paper satisfies all of the test cases except the Large Object function. The Large Object function will be implemented later because the function is not needed for the personal information synchronization process which this paper aims for. Also, synchronization times of the DS server are measured while increasing the number of data and clients. The results of the performance evaluations demonstrate that the DS server is scalable, in the sense that it has not suffered from any serious bottlenecks with respect to the number of data and clients. We expect that this work will provide a framework for various studies in the future for improving mobile DS operations.

A Personalized Retrieval System Based on Classification and User Query (분류와 사용자 질의어 정보에 기반한 개인화 검색 시스템)

  • In this paper, we describe a developmental system for establishing personal information tendency based on user queries. For each query, the system classified it based on the category information using a kNN classifier. As category information, we used DDC field which is already assigned to each record in the database. The system accumulates category information for all user queries and the user's personalized feature for the target database. We then developed a personalized retrieval system reflecting the personalized feature to produce search result. Our system re-ranks the result documents by adding more weights to the documents for which categories match with the user's personalized feature. By using user's tendency information, the ambiguity problem of the word could be solved. In this paper, we conducted experiments for personalized search and word sense disambiguation (WSD) on a collection of Korean journal articles of science and technology arena. Our experimental result and user's evaluation show that the performance of the personalized search system and WSD is proved to be useful for actual field services.

  • 본 연구에서는 안전한 네이밍 서비스를 제공하는 기존 Secure DNS를 확장시켜 GUI방식의 관리자 인터페이스를 설계하였다. 따라서 시스템 설정에 대한 configuration과 보안관련 도구의 핵심이라 할 수 있는 로그의 관리가 용이해 졌다. 또한 관리자 인터페이스에 의해 각각의 자원 레코드에 대한 자동적인 삽입, 삭제가 가능하며, 암호화 알고리즘의 추가를 interactive하게 처리한다. 그밖에 기존 Secure DNS에서는 새로운 암호와 알고리즘을 추가할 때마다 재 컴파일 해야하는 단점이 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 'Dynamic link interface'를 설계하였다. 이는 암호화 알고리즘의 입출력 표준을 정하고 이를 단일한 시스템 API로 구성하여 Secure DNS가 초기화 될 때 동적 라이브러리를 사용하여 각각의 암호화 알고리즘을 메모리에 적재하는 방식을 택한다. 그 밖에 Secure DNS를 이용하여 제공할 수 있는 응용방안으로 개인의 공개키 분배서비스와 X.509 체계를 이용한 인증서를 제공하는 서비스를 제안한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 인터넷의 기본 인프라스트럭쳐인 DNS를 최대한 활용할 수 있는 여러 가지 방안과 그 해결책을 제시한다.
