A Study on the Mechanism of Object Transport System using Ultrasonic Excitation (초음파 여기를 이용한 물체 이송시스템의 메커니즘 연구)

  • In the semiconductor and the optical industry a new transport system which can replace the conventional sliding system is required. These systems are driven by magnetic field and conveyer belt. The magnetic field damages semiconductor and contact force scratches the optical lens. The ultrasonic wave driven system can solve these problem. In this paper, the relationship of transporting speed according to the change of flexural beam shape and the effect of transporting speed according to the change of weight and amplification voltage are verified. The vibration behavior of flexural beam in the ultrasonic transport system is experimented using Laser Scanning Vibrometer.

  • 기존의 객체 감지 센서로는 적외선 센서와 초음파 센서, 레이저 센서 등이 있다. 적외선 센서는 가격이 저렴하고 구현이 쉬워 가장 많이 사용되지만, 객체가 움직임이 있을 때에만 감지가 가능한 단점이 있다. 또한 초음파 센서는 움직임이 없어도 감지가 되지만 정확도가 떨어지고 오류가 많은 단점이 있다. 이러한 감지 센서들은 일정 짧은 거리 내의 객체 감지는 가능하지만 탐지범위를 벗어나면 감지가 되지 않는다. 또한 객체 감지를 하여도 객체의 종류가 어떤 것인지 사용자가 알기 힘들다. 본 논문에서는 레이더 센서와 카메라를 활용한 객체 감지 시스템을 설계하였다. 제시하고 있는 시스템은 레이더 센서를 이용하여 객체를 1차적으로 감지한다. 1차적으로 객체가 감지되었으면 2차적으로 감지 당시 카메라의 화면을 별도로 캡쳐하여 객체의 이미지를 저장한다.

Development of seam tracking sensing system for welding environment with wall (벽이 있는 용접 환경을 위한 용접선 검출 시스템 개발)

  • Both ends of welding line are often closed by wall in the welding of ship blocks. In this research, seam tracking sensing system for butt welding in the condition with wall was developed. Seam tracking sensing system measures position of carriage from wall and detects root-pass of welding line. The system consists of the laser displacement sensors and ultrasonic sensors. The laser displacement sensor reciprocal1y rotates by the motor and measures a distance from laser sensor to the welding material. The ultrasonic sensor measures a distance between welding system and walls. The distance measured by the ultrasonic sensor is used to get X(driving) position and to determine initial and end point of the weld line. Y(weaving) and Z(height) of the weld line are obtained by the distance measured by the laser displacement sensor and the orientation of the sensor. The sensing system includes the controller that is independent from the welding carriage. The seam tracking sensing system is attached to both side of welding carriage so that interference between welding torch and sensing system can be avoided during the welding. And both side sensing system minimize dead zone. Finally, developed sensing system was adhered to welding carriage and verified usefulness by experiments.

  • Transport systems which are the important part of the factory automation have much influence on improving productivity. Object transport systems are driven typically by the magnetic field and conveyer belt. In recent years, as the transmission and processing of information is required more quickly, demands of optical elements and semiconductors increase. However, conventional transport systems are not adequate for transportation of those. The reason is that conveyor belts can damage precision optical elements by the contact force and magnetic systems can destroy the inner structure of semiconductor by the magnetic field. In this paper, the levitation transport system using ultrasonic wave is developed for transporting precision elements without damages. Vibration modes of each flexural beam are verified by using Laser Scanning Vibrometer.

  • 자동차 추돌 방지용 레이더는 도로 사정이나 기후에 따른 운전자의 인지 및 판단이 불가능한 상황에서도 차량 간의 추돌을 예방할 수 있는 시스템이다. 현재까지 연구 개발된 차량용 레이더는 초음파나 밀리미터 웨이브 등을 이용하므로 가격이나 크기 등에서 경쟁력을 갖추지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 적외선 레이저 다이오드를 매트릭스 형태로 배열한 다중 파장 구조 방식을 제안하였다. 이는 악천후에서의 탐지 능력을 개선시킬 수 있다. 또한 의사 잡음 수열의 상관 특성을 이용하여 인접 차량의 레이저 신호에 의한 간섭 영향을 최소화시킬 수 있기 때문에 차세대 ITS 기술 선점 및 산업 경쟁력을 확보 등의 효과를 기대할 수 있다.

  • Ultrasonic imprinting is a micropattern replication technology for a thermoplastic polymer surface that uses ultrasonic vibration energy; it has the advantages of a short cycle time and low energy consumption. Recently, ultrasonic imprinting has been further developed to extend its functionality: (i) selective ultrasonic imprinting using mask films and (ii) repetitive ultrasonic imprinting for composite pattern development. In this study, selective ultrasonic imprinting was combined with repetitive imprinting in order to replicate versatile micropatterns. For this purpose, a repetitive imprinting technology was further extended to utilize mask films, which enabled versatile micropatterns to be replicated using a single mold with micro-prism patterns. The replicated hybrid micropatterns were optically evaluated through laser light images, which showed that versatile optical diffusion characteristics can be obtained from the hybrid micropatterns.

  • This paper proposes laser ultrasonic technique for the impact damage inspection of hydrogen fuel tank and proves that the impact damage can be visualized using an ultrasonic wave propagation imager with an easy detachable sensor head as an impact damage inspection tool for hydrogen fuel tanks. Also the performances of the proposed ultrasonic propagation imager support it can be implemented in real-world technology when the hydrogen car becomes popular.

Arrayed-Arc Slit Design to Improve the focusing Effect of the focused Lamb Wave by Laser (레이저에 의한 집속형 램파의 집속도 향상을 위한 원호형 슬릿 설계)

  • In recent, Lamb wave has been actively studied for non-destructive testing of plate. Among those studios, laser generation method of focused Lamb wave is expected to have high spatial resolution with advantages of non-contact testing. In this method, the laser beam is illuminated on the surface of object by through an arrayed-arc slit, and then the energy of the generated Lamb wave is concentrated at a focus of arc. This focusing effect improves the spatial resolution, which is dependant on the geometries of arrayed-arc slit. In this paper, the relationships between the parameters of arc-shaped slit and the focusing ability of the generated Lamb wave was investigated by the simulation based parametric study The results show that to improve the focusing effect, radius of illuminated laser, angle of arc and number of arcs must be increased, which minimum radius of arc and distance between arcs(=wavelength) must be decreased. These results are expected to be used as a guide to design the proper shape of slit.

Manufacture of an Acousto-Optical Spectrometer for Radio Astronomical Observations (우주전파관측용 음향광학 전파분광기의 제작)

  • The acousto-optical spectrometer as a new type backend of the receiver system for radio astronomical observations is manufactured for radio signal analysis. We studied on the effect of Acousto-Optic and Acousto-Optic devices and designed the optics system. We manufactured the optical mount and the CCD detector for deflected beam and interface card. This acousto-optical spectrometer consisted of a laser, optics, acousto-optic deflector, CCD detector and Interface card. This system use He-Ne laser as a light source and use optics to get parallel beam and to focus the deflected beam. Acousto-optic deflector converts IF signal to ultrasonic wave and deflect the laser beam according to the Bragg deflection. The ultra wide band acousto-optic deflector has 1 GHz bandwidth and a total of 2,048 channel Charge Coupled Device for signal detection. In this study, we discuss the theoretical description on the effect of Acousto-optics, the design of the optics, manufacture of optical mount, CCD detector, interface card and we presented the results of experiment. As a result of measurement, we have 1,000 channels bandwidth from CCD channels.
