The Effects of Live Chat between Seller and Buyers in E-commerce on the Perceived Social Presence and Trust (전자상거래 라이브채팅의 유형이 소비자가 지각하는 판매자에 대한 사회적 실재감과 신뢰에 미치는 영향)

  • This study aims to explore how the effects of the perceived social presence on trust and live chat adoption intention vary with the types of live chats in e-commerce context. As technology develops, live chat with the seller in e-commerce is rapidly replaced by AI-assisted live chat called chat-bot. However, it is not well known how the buyers perceive the difference between the chat with seller and the chat-bot. This study therefore proposes first, the perceived social presence toward the seller will influence trust and the live chat adoption. Second, the effects of social presence will be stronger when using live chat with seller than using chat-bot. To validate, we collect data from 232 e-commerce users and confirm the first proposition. However, the higher level of the social presence effect of live chat with seller is not clearly revealed. This study is expected to provide researchers and managers who are interested in AI-based chatbots with useful theoretical and practical implications.

A Study on the Cultural Intermediary Characteristics of Korean Musical Enthusiasts: Focusing on the 'Live TALK' Chat Record of the Musical Marie Curie (한국 뮤지컬 마니아 관객의 문화매개자적 특성 연구 : 뮤지컬 <마리 퀴리> 라이브 TALK 채팅을 중심으로)

  • This study aims to identify the characteristics and meanings that Korean musical enthusiasts take on as cultural intermediaries of musical content by analyzing the real-time conversations they have while watching musicals performed in online spaces. To this end, the 'Live TALK' chat during the 'ontact' (online contact) performance of the musical Marie Curie was observed in real-time and subsequently analyzed in terms of the characteristics of online cultural intermediaries: their owned capital, their mediating language, and their relationship with the consumers. As a result of the analysis, musical enthusiasts were found to possess a wealth of cultural capital based on practical experience and inquiry, and to be utilizing specific identifying expressions in their language use. In addition, they appeared to be interactive in their communication with the general audience, which could be seen in the flow of spontaneous conversations as well as questions and answers occurring in the live chat. This study is significant in confirming that musical enthusiasts are positioning themselves as new cultural intermediaries through their cultural practices: taking on the role of guides and mediators in the online space 'Live TALK.'

Identifying Consumer Response Factors in Live Commerce : Based on Consumer-Generated Text Data (라이브 커머스에서의 소비자 반응 요인 도출 : 소비자 생성 텍스트 데이터를 기반으로)

  • In this study, we collected data from live commerce streaming. Streamimg data were then categorized based on the degree of chatting activation, with the distribution of text responses generated by consumers analyzed. From a total of 2,282 streaming data on NAVER Shopping Live -which has the largest share in the domestic live commerce market- we selected 200 streaming data with the most active viewer responses and finally chose the streams that had steep increase or decrease in viewer responses. We synthesized variables from the existing literature on live commerce viewing intentions and participation motivations to create a table of variables for the purpose of the study. Then we applied them with events in the broadcast. Through this study, we identified which components of the broadcast stimulate the variables of consumer response found in previous studies, moreover, we empirically identified the motivations of consumers to participate in live commerce through data.

Professional Baseball Viewing Culture Survey According to Corona 19 using Social Network Big Data (소셜네트워크 빅데이터를 활용한 코로나 19에 따른 프로야구 관람문화조사)

  • The data processing of this study focuses on the textom and social media words about three areas: 'Corona 19 and professional baseball', 'Corona 19 and professional baseball', and 'Corona 19 and professional sports' The data was collected and refined in a web environment and then processed in batch, and the Ucinet6 program was used to visualize it. Specifically, the web environment was collected using Naver, Daum, and Google's channels, and was summarized into 30 words through expert meetings among the extracted words and used in the final study. 30 extracted words were visualized through a matrix, and a CONCOR analysis was performed to identify clusters of similarity and commonality of words. As a result of analysis, the clusters related to Corona 19 and Pro Baseball were composed of one central cluster and five peripheral clusters, and it was found that the contents related to the opening of professional baseball according to the corona 19 wave were mainly searched. The cluster related to Corona 19 and unrelated to professional baseball consisted of one central cluster and five peripheral clusters, and it was found that the keyword of the position of professional baseball related to the professional baseball game according to Corona 19 was mainly searched. Corona 19 and the cluster related to professional sports consisted of one central cluster and five peripheral clusters, and it was found that the keywords related to the start of professional sports according to the aftermath of Corona 19 were mainly searched.
