In this paper, examined characteristics of EEG(electroencephalogram) variation when the stimulation was given to lung-wan(CV12), Shin-gwol(CV8) and Gwan-won(CV4) which were some of the acupuncture point, through indirect moxibustion and No stimulation. The EEG signals were measured before the stimulation, during the stimulation, and 1 hour after the stimulation. The measured time domain data were converted to the frequency domain data FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) and frequency power spectrum. Then the $\alpha,\beta,\delta$, and $\theta$ waves were analyzed for variation to the amplitude of vibration according to the stages of stimulation.

In this paper, the unsteady incompressible Navier-Stokes equation coupled with energy equation was solved in order to investigate the thermal stimulation of continuous moxibustion using a commercial code (ANSYS-Fluent). In the simulations, various periods were selected for the continuous moxibustion, which was done by burning multiple disks successively. It has been found that the depth of the effective stimulation zone increases only when the replacing temperature is equal or larger than body temperature whereas the increase rate of the effective stimulation depth decreases as the number of disc increases. Further, it has been shown that the optimal period, for which the duration time of the effective stimulation zone is maximum, exists.

In this paper, a deep-heating stimulation system and protocol were designed to substitute the heat effect of moxibustion. Moxibustion is used to increase immunity and cure disease. But, it is difficult to control power of heat stimulation. A designed deep-heating stimulation system using Radio-Frequency(RF) is easy to control power of heat stimulation. Also, the stimulation protocol for substitution of the heat effect of moxibustion is proposed. Core temperature was applied to infrared camera, thermometer, and infrared sensor, and then was compared with that of moxibustion. The proposed system showed that it is more effective than moxibustion in transferring heat effect in such a deep part. Also, it shows the possibility of usefulness of deep-heating stimulation system and heat stimulation protocol.

This thesis is the study of the effects of Korea and China to Japan's moxibutsion formation historically and the process of Japan accepting and systemizing these effects. The method to the study is to organize the features and developments of Korea, China and especially Japan periodically by focusing on literature. Japan had traveled through China and Korea to resolve the medical problems in Japan and established a traditional medical system by interacting medical technology and publications. Korea had made a tremendous role in developing Japan's traditional medical development by accepting and making a system to China's advanced medical knowledge and books to spread these to Japan. However, Japan is the most developed from those three country for moxibustion. Through the studies of Japan's moxibustion culture and the process of the development, this thesis will present methods of development and recognition to our own traditional medicine of moxibustion.

The moxibustion therapy of orient medical is well known. Moxibustion method is used to burning moxibustion. The variation factors of the moxibustion stimulation for body can be applied to the electronic moxibustion method. This study is to analyze and examine the electroencephalogram(EEG) variations for moxibustion stimulation. In experiment, we divided six healthy male subjects into two same sized groups : with and without stimuli. The given stimuli are the moxibustion for CV4(Kwan-Won), CV8(Shin-Guel), and CV12(Jung-wan) acupuncture points. We have analyzed the power spectrum for ${\alpha}$, ${\beta}$, ${\delta}$, ${\Theta}$ waves and the average EEG variation level and each channels variation level of EEG. The result was that the moxibustion stimulation decreased the EEG levels of parietal lobe(ch 2, 3, 6, 7) according to the somatosensory system. And the apparent different points are that mild-heat($42{\sim}44^{\circ}C$) stimulation generating ${\alpha}$-wave is increased and ${\beta}$-wave is decreased, also slight-hot($45{\sim}48^{\circ}C$) stimulation made ${\alpha}$-wave decrease and ${\beta}$-wave increase for occipital lobe(ch 4,8) on the simulation group.

Near sea trawlers of Korea sometimes catch pelagic fishes like file fish by using midwater trawl gear even though usually catch bottom fish. It is reasonable to use the specific otter board as well as specific net in bottom trawling and in midwater trawling respectively. But, the trawlers are so small ranging 100 to 120GT, 700 to 100ps that it is very complicated to use different otter board for bottom trawling and for midwater trawling. The otter board for bottom trawling. is also used for the midwater trawling without any change even though the net is changed into the specific one. Although the otter board in the midwater trawling should be lighter than that for bottom trawling, to use otter board for bottom trawling directly for the midwater trawling without any change makes the net easily touch the sea bed and also make the horizontal opening of the otter boards be limited owing to the length of warp in the southern sea of Korea, main fishing ground of midwater trawling, which is 100m or so in depth. That is why the otter board for the midwater trawling should be made lighter than that in the bottom trawling, even if temporary. The authors carried out an experiment to achieve this purpose by attaching a large styropol float on the top of the otter board. In this experiment, underwater weight of the otter board was 630kg and buoyancy of the float was 510kg. To determine the depth and horizontal opening of the otter board, two fish finder was used. A transmitter of 50KHz fish finder was set downward through the shoe plate of otter board to determine the elevation of otter board from the sea bed, and a transmitter of 200KHz fish finder was set sideways on the starboard otter board to be able to detect the distance between otter boards. The obtained results can be summarized as follows: 1. The actual towing speed in the experiment varied 1.1 to 1.8 m/sec. 2. The depth of otter board was within 41 to 25m with float on the top and 45 to 26m without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the depth 68-44m with float and 74-46m without float in case of the warp length 150m. This fact means that the depth with float was 9-4% shallower than that without float. 3. The horizontal opening between otter boards was within 34-41m with float and 30-38m without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the opening was 44-50m with float and 37-46m without float in case of the warp length 150m. This fact means the opening with float was 10% greater than that without float in case of the warp length 100m, and 15% greater in case of the warp length 150m. 4. The horizontal opening between wing tips by using the otter board with float was 1m greater than by without float in case of the warp length 100m, whereas the opening by with float was 2m greater than by without float in case of warp length 150m. From this fact, it can be estimated that the effective opening area of the net mouth by using the otter board with float could be made 10% greater than by without float in case of warp length 100m, whereas the area with float 20% greater than by without float in case of warp length 150m.

This paper was performed for the older people with cognitive abilities deteriorated, and its effectiveness is analyzed through measurement value of HRV. This paper was investigated the major acupressure that has been used frequently to people who has to decrease cognitive ability in the old documents. We measure the several variation by using a measuring instrument of HRV after performing an operation of acupuncture and moxibustion for elderly degraded cognitive ability. As compared with the measured values, the moxibustion and acupuncture to changes in the autonomic nervous system, heart rate and how it affects the efficacy was measured. As a result of research, acupuncture and moxibustion could be confirmed through the HRV analysis that there is a positive effect on the improvement of cognitive skills.

The present study was made in order to clarify the anti-emetic effect by needle-acupuncture (AP), injection-AP and moxibustion in xylazine - induced vomiting of dogs. Twelve mongrel dogs (4 months to 5 year old, 2 to 4 kg of body weight), eleven mongrel dogs (4 months to 5 years old, 2 to 10 kg of body weight) and twelve mongrel dogs (4 months to 1 year old, 2 to 4 kg of body weight) were used for clarification of anti-emetic effect by needle-AP, injection-AP and moxibustion, respectively. The experimental animals were devided into control(6 heads), BL-21(6 heads), CV-12(6 heads) and BL-21+CV-12(6 heads) groups using total 6 dogs with vomiting selected in preliminary experiment, respectively in needle-AP treatment. In addition, the experimental dogs were divided into control (11 heads), BL-21 (6 heads) and CV-12(6 heads) groups using 11 dogs, respectively in injection-AP treatment. In moxibustion treatment the experimental dogs were divided into control (6 heads), BL-21(6 heads) and CV-12(6 heads) groups using 6 dogs, respectively. Five days after the experiment of one group was finished, the other group was examined in each experiment. Acupuncture needle was maintained for 20 minutes in needle-AP treatment. Metoclopramide was used in injection-AP treatment. Commercial moxa was used in moxibustion treatment. Vomiting was induced by intramuscular injection with $2{\%}$ xylazine 20 minutes after treatments of needle-AP, injection-AP and moxibustion, respectively. The vomiting rates of BL-21($33.3{\%}$), CV-12($50{\%}$) and BL-21+CV-12($33.3{\%}$) were lower than that of control($66.7{\%}$) and vomiting times of experimental groups were similar to that of control in needle-AP treatment. The vomiting rates of BL-21 ($0{\%}$) and CV-12($16.4{\%}$) were lower than that of control($66.7{\%}$) and the vomiting time of CV-12 group was similar to that of control group in injection-AP treatment. The vomiting rates of BL-21($33.3{\%}$) and CV-12($33.3{\%}$) were lower than that of control ($66.7{\%}$) and vomiting times of experimental group were similar to that of control group in moxibustion treatment. In conclusion, it was considered that needle-AP, metoclopramide injection-AP and moxibustion at BL-21 and CV-12 were effective for anti-emesis in xylazine induced vomiting of dogs and metoclopramide injection-AP was the most effective method for anti-emesis among them.
