마그네슘 합금 판재의 온간 딥드로잉 해석 (Analysis of warm Deep Drawing of Magnesium Alloy Sheet)

  • Due to their low densities and high specific strength and stiffness, magnesium alloy sheets are very attractive lightweight materials for automotive and electrical products. However, the magnesium alloy sheets are usually formed at elevated temperature because of their poor formability at room temperature. To use of the magnesium alloy sheets for an industrial, their mechanical properties at elevated temperature and appropriate forming process conditions have to be developed. In this study, non-isothermal simulations of a square cup drawing from magnesium alloy sheets have been conducted to evaluate a proper forming process conditions such as the tool temperature, the tool shoulder radius, friction between the blank and the tools. According to this study, appropriate forming process conditions of square cup drawing at elevated temperature from magnesium alloy sheets are suggested.

  • 딥 드로오잉 시의 소재누르기판의 힘을 펀치의 변위 혹은 힘의 임의의 함수로서 제어 시킬 수 있는 서브프레스장치 및 유압장치를 제작하고 제어용 프로그램을 작성하여 시 험하였다. 제작한 장치를 인스트론 시험기에 설치하고 제어용 프로그램을 IBM퍼스널 컴퓨터를 사용하여 실행시킨 결과, 기계 제어 부분은 어셈블러언어로, 계산 부분은 고급 언어로 프로그램을 작성하여 링크시킨 후에 컴파일링하여 사용하는것이 제어의 응답성 및 정확도를 향상시킬 수 있음이 판명되었다. 또한, 소재누르기판의 힘의 제어에 필요한 이론 및 예비 결과들도 제시하였다.

  • This article is aimed primarily at establishing a process planning method for complex circular shells. For the deep drawing of complex shaped shell, the optimum process design is required to reduce the trial cost improve the quality, increase the productivity and shorten the delivery. The present approach which is related to the optimum process planning is based on the empirical knowledge through trial and error in the industrial field. In order to check the validity and the effectiveness of proposed work a sample process design has been applied to the multi-stepped deep drawing of com-plex shell considering the process variables such as drawing rate radius and blank development. In particular the difference between the limiting drawing rate and to optimum drawing rate has been discussed and the usefulness of present suggestion has been shown.

  • A 2-dimensional FEM/GEM program was developed for analyzing forming processes of an arbitrarily shaped draw-die, in which plane strain condition is assumed and linear line elements are employed. FEM formulation adopted a new algorithm for solving force equilibrium as well as non-penetration condition simultaneously. For the case of numerical divergence at nearly final forming stages and the initial guess in Newton-Raphson iterations, geometric force equilibrium method(GEM) is also introduced. The developed program was tested with the simulation of stamping processes of automotive bonnet inner pannel in order to verify the usefulness and validity of FEM/GEM formulation.

원통형 딥드로잉 용기의 벽 두께 감소 최소화에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Minimizing Wall Thickness Thinning for Deep Drawing of Circular Shells)

  • For minimizing wall thickness thinning of circular shells, a new stamping technology, the deep draw-ing process combined with ironing is approached and investigated. The design requirements for the deep drawing shells are to keep the optimum wall thickness with max. 10 percent thickness thinning of the initial blank thickness, to make uniform thickness strain distribution for the wall of circular shell and to improve the shape accuracy for the roundness and concentricity. In order to check the validity and effectiveness of proposed work, a sample process design is applied to a circular shell needed for a 4multi-stepped deep drawing. Through experiments, the variations of the thickness strain distribution in each drawing process are observed. Also a series of experiments are performed to investigate optimum process variables such as the geometry of tooling, radius and drawing rate. In particular, the advantage of current approach with ironing is shown in contrast to the conventional deep drawing process. From the results of proposed method, the optimum value of process variables are obtained, which contribute more uniform thickness strain distribution and better quality in the drawn product.

  • Some deep drawing characteristics to the elevated temperatures were investigated for the SCP1 steel sheets by using the Cr-coated die. For this investigations six steps of temperature ranges from room temperature to 25$0^{\circ}C$ and six kinds of drawing ratio from 2.4 to 2.9 were adopted. As a result the limiting drawing ration maximum drawing force and the maximum drawing depth were sensitively affected by the elevated temperatures and the more stable thickness strain distribution was observed to the elevated temperatures, Some experimental results were compared with analytical results using the DYNA-3D code.

사각 딥드로잉에서 플랜지 주름이 벽 파단에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Flange wrinkling on wall break of rectangular cup drawing)

  • In order to investigate the effect of flange wrinkling on the wall break of a deep drawn rectangular cup, experiments and simulation were done. The effect of the wrinkling height on drawing force and wall break for a moving blank holder system with spacer were studied by setting a fixed clearance between the drawing die and the blank holder. Simulation and experimental results showed that wall break could be provoked by the flange wrinkling. As the wrinkling height increased, the punch force grew. The maximum punch force was obtained at its final stage of stroke.
