Positive Random Forest based Robust Object Tracking (Positive Random Forest 기반의 강건한 객체 추적)

  • In compliance with digital device growth, the proliferation of high-tech computers, the availability of high quality and inexpensive video cameras, the demands for automated video analysis is increasing, especially in field of intelligent monitor system, video compression and robot vision. That is why object tracking of computer vision comes into the spotlight. Tracking is the process of locating a moving object over time using a camera. The consideration of object's scale, rotation and shape deformation is the most important thing in robust object tracking. In this paper, we propose a robust object tracking scheme using Random Forest. Specifically, an object detection scheme based on region covariance and ZNCC(zeros mean normalized cross correlation) is adopted for estimating accurate object location. Next, the detected region will be divided into five regions for random forest-based learning. The five regions are verified by random forest. The verified regions are put into the model pool. Finally, the input model is updated for the object location correction when the region does not contain the object. The experiments shows that the proposed method produces better accurate performance with respect to object location than the existing methods.

The Application of Science Education Lecture for Pre-Service Teacher Using Teaching-Learning Method Based on Flipped Learning (플립러닝 교수-학습 방법을 활용한 예비교사의 과학교육론 수업 적용)

  • A flipped learning class was held in an attempt to overcome the limits of lecture-type classes in pre-service science teacher training and to provide a student-oriented education suitable for digital native generation. The principles of teaching-learning in flipped learning were applied to the general ADDIE model to design the class; learning materials were developed accordingly. The developed flipped learning materials and class design were verified for their validity using an expert panel's Delphi method and validity test, in which the validity was verified with 0.75 CVR. The developed flipped learning materials were applied to the theory of science education and the instructional effectiveness was analyzed. The results suggest that the students' motivation to study, interest, and confidence in learning increased; however, their satisfaction in class decreased by 30% as compared to the lecture-type class and their self-confidence in the improvement of their academic achievement was not sufficient. In order for a flipped learning class to be successful, the class should be small in size, which would ensure appropriate teacher-student communication and individualized learning; also, the students' burden of learning should be reduced and accessibility to video materials for pre-class learning should be reinforced.

  • Recently, the 4th generation of mobile communications in Korea with anyone supports was supported high speed multimedia communication services. With the launch of Apple iPhone, there is an explosion of interest in Smartphone itself as well as Internet-based services using Smartphone are being revitalized. Smartphone users, opinion experts almost of the economically active population is using, it has reached the saturation past the early stages of formation. In 1989, the 1st generation mobile communication service has been started with the analog voice service. After this, the 2nd generation mobile communication service for short messages and digital voices has been developed. And, the 3rd generation service of low speed data and low quality videos has been realized in 2000s. The very high speed data service of LTE (long term evolution), which is the 4th generation mobile communication service standards, had been in July 2011. and the subscribers are increasing constantly. However, changes in communication technology, has given an economical cost to Smartphone users. Therefore, the purposes of this study was trending of the communication cost according to the change in the communication technology of the mobile communication industry.

Adjacent Pixels based Noise Mitigation Filter in Salt & Pepper Noise Environments (Salt & Pepper 잡음 환경에서 인접 픽셀 기반 잡음 완화 필터)

  • Digital images and videos are subject to various types of noise during storage and transmission. Among these noises, Salt & Pepper noise degrades the compression efficiency of the original data and causing deterioration of performance in edge detection or segmentation used in an image processing method. In order to mitigate this noise, there are many filters such as Median Filter, Weighted Median Filter, Center Weighted Median Filter, Switching Weighted Median Filter and Adaptive Median Filter. However these methods are inferior in performance at high noise density. In this paper we propose a new type of filter for noise mitigation in wireless communication environment where Salt & Pepper noise occurs. The proposed filter detects the location of the damaged pixel by Salt & Pepper noise detection and mitigates the noise by using adjacent pixel values which are not damaged in a certain area. Among the proposed filters, the performance of the filter using the $3{\times}3$ error mask is compared with that of the conventional methods and it is confirmed that when density of noise in the image is 95%, their performances are improved as 13.24 dB compared to MF and 13.09 dB compared to AMF.

Analysis on Spectral Regrowth of Bandwidth Expansion Module by Quadrature Modulation Error in Digital Chirp Generator (디지털 첩 발생기에서의 직교 변조 오차에 의한 대역 확장 모듈에서의 스펙트럴 재성장 분석)

  • This paper presents an effective method to achieve the wideband waveform for high resolution SAR(Synthetic Aperture Radar) using the frequency multiplication technique. And also this paper analyzes the root causes for the spectral regrowth due to 3rd-order intermodulation in chirp bandwidth expansion scheme using quadrature modulator and frequency multipliers. The amplitude and phase imbalance requirement are defined based on the simulation results in terms of quadrature channel imbalance. This minimizes the degradation of range resolution, peak sidelobe ratio and integrated sidelobe ratio. The wideband chirp generator using the frequency multiplier and memory map scheme was manufactured and the compensation technique was presented to reduce the spectral regrowth of SAR waveform by minimizing the amplitude and phase imbalance. After I and Q channel imbalance adjustment, the carrier level reduces -28.7 dBm to -53.4 dBm. Chirp signal with 150 MHz bandwidth at S-band expands to 600 MHz bandwidth at X-band. The sidelobe levels are reduced by about 8 to 9 dB by compensating the amplitude balance between I and Q channels.

A Study on Landscape Management Techniques of Cultural Heritage Designated Area Using 3D Mapping Method (3D맵핑을 이용한 문화재 지정구역 경관관리기법 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose the construction of a visibility analysis model, which is the basis of the analysis for landscape management on the heritage sites such as historic villages and scenic sites. Results of the visibility analysis using DEM and the visibility analysis of DSM based on 3D mapping data are compared as follows: Precision level of the extracted data was confirmed to be less than 6.5cm, based on RTK survey results produced by constructing orthoimage data and DSM from the digital data of 2cm-class GSD(Ground Sample Distance) obtained by using a small UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle). As a result of comparing the visibility analysis data of Digital Surface Model (DSM) using a small UAV with Digital Elevation Model(DEM) applying the height of the building to the Digital Topographic Map, it was confirmed that more realistic visibility analysis can be accomplished by applying DSM, as the structures such as fences, trees, and houses are reflected in the topographic data. The visibility analysis model using the 3D mapping technique can efficiently obtain the constantly changing topographic information when needed, by immediately constructing the data by utilizing a small UAV. It seems to be possible to propose a reasonable analysis result for preservation management such as landscape evaluation of cultural property.

  • A new remote access system for a 1.3 MV high voltage electron microscope has been developed. Almost all essential functions for HVEM operation, huck as stage control, specimen tilting, TV camera selection and image recording, are successfully embedded into this prototype of the remote system. Particularly, this system permits perfect and precise operation of the goniometer and also controls the high resolution digital camera via simple Web browsers. Transmission of control signals and communication with the microscope is accomplished via the global ring network for advanced applications development (GLORIAD). This fact makes it possible to realize virtual laboratory to carry out practical national and international HVEM collaboration by using the present system

  • MPEG-4 표준은 저작자가 정지영상, 텍스트, 2D/3D 그래픽스, 오디오, 심지어 임의형의 비디오 등과 같이 다양한 형태의 객체들을 개별적으로 구성하고 이들을 시/공간자적으로 다루기 용이하게 해 준다. 이와 같은 객체 기반 코딩 특성에 의해서 대화형 방송 콘텐츠를 제작하는데 가장 유용한 방식으로 고려할 수 있다. 피러나, 콘텐츠의 제작, 전송, 소비 관전에서 고려해 달 때, 콘텐츠 제작자 또는 저작권자의 보호 및 관리가 필요하게 되었다. 이에 따라 최근에는 OPIMA (Open Platform Initiative for Multimedia Access), SDMI (Secure Digital Music Initiative) and MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) OPIMATfMr(Intellectual Property Management & Protection)와 같은 국제 표준 단체들이 콘텐츠 보호 및 관리에 대한 관심을 가지게 되었다. 특히, MPEG의 경우에 MPEG-4 IPMP를 표준화하여 디지털 콘텐츠와 저작권에 대한 보호를 체계적이고 효과적으로 다루는 연구를 가장 활발히 해오고 있다. 이 논문에서 우리는 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 저작자가 MPEG-4 규격에 맞게 보호화 된 객체 기반 방송용 콘텐츠를 쉽고 편리하게 제작학 수 있도록 하기 위한 MPEG씨 콘텐츠 및 저자권 보호를 위한 MPEG-4 IPMP 저작 도구를 제안하고자 한다. 제안한 MPEG-4 콘텐츠 및 저작권 보호 저작 도구는 저작자에게 친근한 사용자 인터페이스를 제공하여 편집 및 수정이 용이한 텍스트 포맷인 IPMP회된 XMT(extensible Mpeg-4 Textual format) 파일을 생성한다. 또한, 콘텐츠 전송 및 저장의 효율성을 위해 이진 포멧인 IPMP화된 MP4 파일을 생성할 수 있다.으로써, 에러 이미지가 가지고 있는 엔트로피에 좀 근접하게 코딩을 할 수 있게 되었다. 이 방법은 실제로 Arithmetic Coder를 이용하는 다른 압축 방법에 그리고 적용할 수 있다. 실험 결과 압축효율은 JPEG-LS보다 약 $5\%$의 압축 성능 개선이 있었으며, CALIC과는 대등한 압축률을 보이며, 부호화/복호화 속도는 CALIC보다 우수한 것으로 나타났다.우 $23.87\%$($18.00\~30.91\%$), 갑폭 $23.99\%$($17.82\~30.48\%$), 체중 $91.51\%$($58.86\~129.14\%$)이였으며 성장율은 사육 온도구간별 차는 없었다.20 km 까지의 지점들(지점 2에서 지점 6)에서 매우 높은 값을 보이며 이는 조석작용으로 해수와 담수가 강제혼합되면서 표층퇴적물이 재부유하기 때문이라고 판단된다. 영양염류는 월별로 다소의 차이는 있으나, 대체적으로 지점 1과 2에서 가장 낮고, 상류로 갈수록 점차 증가하며 지점 7 상류역이 하류역에 비해 높은 농도이다. 월별로는 7월에 규산염, 용존무기태질소 및 암모니아의 농도가 가장 높은 반면에 용존산소포화도는 가장 낮다. 그러나 지점 14 상류역에서는 5월에 측정한 용존무기태질소, 암모니아, 인산염 및 COD 값이 7월보다 다소 높거나 비슷하다. 한편 영양염류와 COD값은 대체적으로 8월에 가장 낮으나 용존산소포화도는 가장 높다.출조건은 $100^{\circ}C$에서 1분간의 고온단시간 추출이 적합하였다. 증가를 나타내었는데, 저장기간에 따른 물성의 변화는 숭어에 비하여 붕장어가 적었다.양식산은 aspartic acid 및 proline이 많았다. 또한 잉어는 천연산이

Ultra Low Noise Hybrid Frequency Synthesizer for High Performance Radar System (고성능 레이다용 저잡음 하이브리드 주파수합성기 설계 및 제작)

  • Modern radar system requires high spectral purity and low phase noise characteristics for very low RCS target detection and high resolution SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) image. This paper presents a new X-band high stable frequency synthesizer for high performance radar system, which combines DAS (Direct Analog Synthesizer) and DDS (Direct Digital Synthesizer) techniques, in order to cope with very low phase noise and high frequency agility requirements. This synthesizer offers more than 10% operating bandwidth in X-band frequency and fast agile time lower than 1 usec. Also, the phase noise at 10kHz offset is lower than -136dBc/Hz, which shows an improvement of more than 10dB compared to the current state of art frequency synthesizer. This architecture can be applied to L-band and C-band application as well. This frequency synthesizer is able to used in modern AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar system and high resolution SAR application.

Counterfeit Money Detection Algorithm using Non-Local Mean Value and Support Vector Machine Classifier (비지역적 특징값과 서포트 벡터 머신 분류기를 이용한 위변조 지폐 판별 알고리즘)

  • Due to the popularization of digital high-performance capturing equipments and the emergence of powerful image-editing softwares, it is easy for anyone to make a high-quality counterfeit money. However, the probability of detecting a counterfeit money to the general public is extremely low. In this paper, we propose a counterfeit money detection algorithm using a general purpose scanner. This algorithm determines counterfeit money based on the different features in the printing process. After the non-local mean value is used to analyze the noises from each money, we extract statistical features from these noises by calculating a gray level co-occurrence matrix. Then, these features are applied to train and test the support vector machine classifier for identifying either original or counterfeit money. In the experiment, we use total 324 images of original money and counterfeit money. Also, we compare with noise features from previous researches using wiener filter and discrete wavelet transform. The accuracy of the algorithm for identifying counterfeit money was over 94%. Also, the accuracy for identifying the printing source was over 93%. The presented algorithm performs better than previous researches.
