Non-verbal communications are important because they support and replace verbal communication. Body language of various non-verbal communications is the communication using the body. In animation, expression of body language is very important because characters play an important role in communicating the scenario. Animation has a dual communication structure, different from general communication. One is the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character, the other is the image and the audience, which includes the communication between the speaker character and the hearer character. In this study, we divide the body language from the characters into the discourse-in act and discourse-out act according to this dual structure and classify it into adaptors, emblem, illustrator, regulator, affect display by a functional approach method. Especially, the illustrator is subdivided into pragmatic speech act. Finally, this study analyzes the features of body language in animation and represents animation character's body language for an effective expression of the communications in animation.

Rural houses are losing their original shape as they mimic the spatial composition of urban houses. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to extract the design elements needed for rural housing by applying Christopher Alexander's "A PATTERN LANGUAGE" to Standard Rural-House Design (SRHD). The scope and method of research was to compare and analyze the standard designs (SD) produced and distributed by the 'Korea Rural Community Corporation' from 2009 to 2014. The research result is summarized as follows. 1) The housing layout in the SD ignored the site conditions of various rural areas. 2) Most of the houses were not actively planned, considering that they contain various activities of rural life. 3) There was no room for children and the kitchen was planned to integrate the interior into a flexible space in the form of L.D.K. 4) There was no space plan that could be used as both a leasable annex and office space for the farming community. 5) Many small area plans were made because of the SD plan for couples only in 2014. Although the rural environment and living patterns were ignored in the SD, the diverse pattern language provided by the pattern language was developed as a SD element for rural houses, which is the most suitable housing plan for the farmers' livelihood pattern.

This thesis concentrates on modern design with understanding the ooncept of design thinking. Functionalism and exactness in design result from the project that modern design attempted to change everyday life with mechanical design language. There is thought to be convenient and profitable, to link a function and a need, to make something with building-up process, and to give judgement something by dualism in the other side. That thoughts were produced by not only transition of production system from by hand to by machine but also atmosphere of society that enables one to know himself as a member of modern age.

It is very necessary and important that color image language is given to each coloring to highten efficiency on applying color scheme. For that in this research, literature cited and survey are carried out to select languages on the Korean's color-image connected with color scheme at the same time, and I did my best to objectify the subjective color image through verifying related experts. As the result of research, I classified the color image into 14 categories; A. energy or dinamic, B. harmony, C. order, D. style and fashion, E. mystery, F. Practicalty, G. dignity, H. gorgeousness, I. the sense of sight, touch, taste, hearing, J. complexity, K. sexuality and growth, L. standard, M. static and lyricism, N. simplicity to promote user's usefulness. For the user's convenience on color plan, the work to propose color scheme concided with the selected color-image languages is deferred till the follow-up research.

20세기 건축가들과 디자이너들은 사회적, 시대적 환경변화에 대응하여 새로운 디자인 언어를 수립하고자 다양한 노력을 전개해 왔다. 알바 알토는 모더니즘에 지대한 영향을 미친 건축가이자 가구디자이너로 평가받고 있는데, 그의 건축디자인과 가구디자인은 상당한 연관성이 있는 것으로 파악되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 알바 알토의 건축디자인 특성을 가구디자인과의 관련성의 측면에서 파악하여 그 상관관계를 파악하고자 한다. 이를 위하여 알바 알토의 건축 디자인 특성 중 유기적 측면에서 정리된 디자인의 불연속적 특성, 불규칙적 특성, 통합적 특성, 자연요소의 특성의 측면에서 그의 가구디자인 사례를 건축디자인과 비교하여 가구디자인에 반영된 건축적 특징을 파악하였다.

This study analyzes the Pattern Language of Insadong-gil in street environmental design analysis for street vitalization. The urban public spaces, such as pedestrian streets, parks and plazas, have been increased with rapid urbanization and industrialization. But the fact is the satisfied spaces with the behavior patterns of users is little. This is because of the too much slanted thought toward formal supply and management of spaces without enough consideration for people and spatial quality of public spaces. The purpose of this study is to find out the factors to make the street more vital and diverse and to give the characteristic of region through the research on Insadong street with the pattern language of Christopher Alexander. So, throughout the value recognition of the changing urban street environment that has been changed by age selected spatial characteristic of public spaces. By selecting a suitable pattern language for each spatial characteristics provide the basis for street environmental design analysis. For this study, look at the relationship between pattern language focused on Insadong street, pattern language as the vitalization factor of street were analyzed 16 elements, including Pedestrian Street(100), Building Fronts(122), Activity Nodes(30) etc. This study focuses on street environmental design analysis of Insadong-gil through the Pattern Language, it propose the criteria and guidelines that will help enable street vitalization.

The purpose of using CBD in the object-oriented modeling is to improve the software capability by reducing iterative time and space complexity. Despites many achievements of CBD, it is needed to study about design patterns and it's standardization for the increment of CBD design reusability. However, it is rather possible that impetuous constructing meta-pattern languages and pattern repositories make adapting patterns to software development more complicate and difficult. By applying GoF design patterns to the design of the TMDL(Total Maximum Daily Load) environmental software discipline, this study suggests a method which specifies Pattern names at class names for retrieving, exploring the adapted patterns on the stage of software design without meta-pattern language which is a redundant abstraction, nor additional pattern repositories. Thus, this study can contribute on the reducing iterations and repetitions that are frequently occurred in the process of the environmental software developments.

Rudolph Michael Schindler(1887-1953) has been known as one of the pioneering modem architects who pursued not merely stylistic expression but a true embodiment for the human life. His furniture design is particularly noteworthy in Schindler's building. He designed numerous furniture designs where it serves as a core principal of his interior design of each building. Nevertheless, despite his architectural accomplishments, his furniture design has less been discussed. This research focuses on investigating the notion and the characteristics of Schindler's furniture designs based on his architectural language. For an in depth study of Schindler's furniture, this study reconstructs the archival material by analyzing drawings and by fabricating scaled models to reveal the characteristics of Schindler's furniture. To do so, it concentrates on two things: On the one hand, the stylistic characteristics that have to do with simple geometry, human proportion, the use of material and visual technique; on the other hand, different furniture types. This article concludes by describing Schindler's furniture design that has grown from his unique design approach and its underlying formal and spatial design principles.
