Squeal Analysis of Disc Brake Using Analytical-FE Squeal Model (스퀼융합모델을 이용한 디스크 브레이크 스퀼 소음 연구)

  • This paper presents the analytical-FE (finite element) squeal model, which can provide the efficient simulation time and accuracy. The system geometry and the extraction of the vibration modes were constructed using the finite element method. Instead, the friction contact model was derived from theoretical contact kinematics of the rotating disc and the stationary pads. This modeling procedure was incorporated into the perturbed equations of motion based on the finite elements of the system. Throughout the analytical-FE squeal model, the accuracy of linear stability analysis and the simulation time of FE squeal analysis were improved. In addition, the sensitivity of contact stiffness on brake squeal and the mode-coupling mechanism were provided by the system parameter study.

  • Development of a curvic-coupling was presented in this paper. The research covers design, structural analysis, hot-temperature-torsion-test, curvic-coupling applied proto-type turbine disk manufacturing, and assembly test of a curvic-coupling rotor system for the turbopump application. Curvic-coupling was designed based on the Gleason-standard-tooth shape. The load capability of the designed curvic coupling was validated by the structural analysis and hot-temperature-torsion-test. A proto-type turbine disk which had adopted designed curvic-coupling was manufactured, assembled and tested to reveal that shaft-disk assembly run-outs in axial and radial directions were much smaller than the design requirements. The development will be finalized after spin test of shaft-disk assembly in near future.

Durability Analysis by Shape of Brake Disk Structure (브레이크 디스크 구조 형상별 내구성 해석)

  • This study investigates life, damage and durability through the analyses of fatigue load and vibration on disk brake models of A, B and C. Maximum equivalent stress is happened at the inside of disk brake on these models. As there are A, B and C models by order of life, model A has the most stable strength on fatigue analysis, The deformations at 3 kinds of models become nearly same on natural frequency analysis. The maximum total deformation and equivalent stress is shown at 1617Hz by harmonic vibration analysis on these models. As there are A, B and C models by order of deformation and stress, model A becomes lowest and safest. This study result can be effectively utilized with the design of brake disk in order to improve durability and prevention against its fatigue damage and vibration.

  • In this paper, the method and its effectiveness to decrease the uneven wear of the brake pad were proposed. A finite element analysis was performed to analyze the pressure distributions on the contact surfaces. The optimum brake pad shape was determined by a robust design using the Taguchi method. The effectiveness of the optimum design was clarified by the wear tests with a dynamometer.

  • In this paper, a robust design of the back-plate of the brake pad to decrease the uneven wear of the pad was studied. A finite element analysis was performed to analyze the pressure distributions on the contact surfaces. Optimized back-plate shape of the brake pad was determined using the Taguchi method. The effectiveness of the robust design was clarified by the wear tests with a dynamometer.

Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the dynamic characteristics by using finite element analysis, shape optimization.   • Disc brake squeal is caused by mechanical vibrations generated from friction force excitations exerted by the pad on the rotor. In order to understand the origin of these vibrations and to speed up the design, the characterization of the individual brake system components is desirable. In this paper, the results of modal analysis are presented in terms of several slot-type with free-free boundary conditions. Special attention is paid to variations of the natural frequency at each vibration mode as the result of modifying slot pattern.

  • 레이저 텍스쳐와 미케니칼 텍스쳐 컴퓨터 하드디스크의 마찰과 마코 매카니즘이 Contact Start/Stop test 실행후의 특성들에 대해 연구되었다. 다양한 분석적이고 기계적인 테스트 기술들이 이용되었다. 형상, 조도, 화학적 조성, 기계적 성질, CSS 로부터 기인된 코팅의 마찰특성들에 대해 그 변화들을 조사하였다. 즉, AFM(Atomic Force Microscopy), Nano-Indentation, Nano-Scratch, TOF-SIMS(Time of Flight Secondary Ion Mass Spectroscopy), AES(Auger Electronic Spectroscopy)등이 이 연구에 적용되었다. 레이저 텍스쳐 범프의 표면조도와 미케니칼 텍스쳐 지역의 표면조도는 각각 대략적으로 4nm 와 7nm 감소되었다. 탄성계수와 경도값은 CSS test후에 증가하였고 가장 바깥쪽의 코팅층의 변형강화가 생겨났다. 자성층과 Ni-P 층 사이에 점착성의 문제가 확인되었다. TOF-SIMS 분석은 C 와 $C_2F_5$의 세기에 있어서 감소를 드러냈고 이것은 코팅 표면에 윤활제 요소의 마모를 확실시 할수 있는 결과로 나타났다.

  • 웹 GIS에서의 인터넷 서비스 이용자의 집중 현상으로 발생하는 서버의 과부하 현상을 막고 안정적인 서비스 제공을 위해서는 웹 클러스터링 기술의 도입이 필요하다. 공간 질의는 웹 데이터와는 달리 인접 영역에 대한 질의가 매우 잣으며, 질의 처리 결과가 대용량이라는 특성을 가지고 있다. 이러한 공간 질의의 특성을 고려하지 않을 경우, 서버에서 처리되는 질의들의 지역적 인접성이 낮아지고 낮은 버퍼 재 사용율은 디스크로의 접근 빈도를 높여 질의 처리 비용을 증가시키는 원인이 된다. 본 논문에서는 웹 GIS 클러스터링 시스템을 위한 질의 영역의 인접성을 이용한 로드 밸런싱 기법을 제안한다. 제안하는 기법은 공간 데이터를 타일을 기반으로 인접한 타일의 그룹을 생성하여 각 서버에 할당하여, 질의 영역 및 공간 연산을 고려하여 서버에서 질의가 처리되는 동안 버퍼 재사용율이 최대가 되도록 클라이언트의 질의 요청을 적절한 서버에 전달한다. 제안하는 기법은 서버의 버퍼를 공간 인덱스 탐색에 최적화함으로써 서버의 버퍼 재상용율을 높이고, 클러스터링 시스템에서 디스크의 접근 횟수를 낮추어, 전체적인 서버 시스템의 처리 능력을 형상시킨다.

  • Micro electrochemical machining was investigated to machine micro internal features. This method uses a micro disk tool electrode and can easily machine micro features inside of a micro hole, which are very difficult to make by the conventional processes. In order to limit the machining area and localize the electrochemical dissolution, ultra short pulses were used as power source and a micro disk electrode with insulating layer on its surface was used as a tool electrode. By electrochemical process, internal features, such as groove array, were fabricated on the stainless steel plate.
