A Study on the Machining Characteristics for Micro Barrier Ribs by using Micro Endmilling (마이크로 엔드밀에 의한 미세격벽가공의 가공특성에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, miniaturization and mass production are the main trends in manufacturing fields. Therefore, ultraprecision machining and MEMS technology have been taken more and more important position in machining of microparts. Micro endmilling is one of the prominent technology that has wide spectrum of application field ranging from macro parts to micro products, such as PDP and IT components, in precision products manufacturing. However, the deburring is significant problem in making smooth and precise parts in micro endmilling. This paper shows removal characteristics of burr generated by micro endmilling process. Additionally, it is necessary to understand the formation mechanism of burr of micro barrier ribs to find proper deburring method.

  • In this study, a vision system with image processing method have been introduced to find the edge radius of curvature. It was applied to inspect the edge quality of the deburring process product with brush grinding. Size of data was found to be critical in calculating the radius of curvature. Results using laser measurement system were compared.

  • 로봇 경로프로그래밍 작업의 단순화는 산업용 로봇응용분야중 경로가 복잡할 경우, 예를 들어 연삭, 디버링, 폴리싱등 의 가공분야 그리고 아크용접같은 작업에서, 더욱 절실한 문제가 되고있다. 기존 로봇 프로그래밍 방식은 죠이스틱 또는 티칭 유니트, 오프라인 그리고 메스터-슬레이브 방식으로 구분될 수 있는데 각각 많은 프로그래밍 시간소요, 현장성부족 그리고 적용 로봇에의 한계를 문제점으로 들 수 있다. 여기서는 6축 수직 다관절 로봇의 손목부위에 6자 유도의 F/T 센서를 부착하여 작업자가 직접 로봇의 엔드 이펙트를 잡고 원하는 경로를 따라가는 동안 경로가 자동 프로 그래밍되는 알고리즘을 실험 결과와 함께 제시하고 있다.

  • 정밀부품의 가공 시에 발생되는 burr는 제품의 정밀도, 성능과 제품의 생산성에도 부정적인 영향을 끼치다. 따라서 효율적인 burr의 제거는 제품의 성능의 향상뿐만 아니라 생산성의 향상에도 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있다. 자기 연마법(Magnetic Abrasive Finishing)은 연마제의 연마특성과 철의 자기화 성질을 이용한다. 자기장내의 자기력선의 응집현상을 통해서 burr를 제거하는 방법이다. 자기 유도자에 의해 형성된 magnet flow를 따라 지립이 정렬을 하고 정렬된 지립은 브러쉬의 역할을 하여 burr를 제거하게 된다.(중략)

  • Recently, the deburring process which is last process of manufacture is one of the important process for complete product. The development of shape guided automatic deburring machine is essential because manual deburring process has very irregular quality and higher error rate as well as consider irregular shape radius. In order to develop of shape guided automatic deburring machine, in this study, we conducted 3D design, assembly, machine simulation and structural analysis using CATIA. Also, we conducted to make automatic deburring machine and conducted a performance test.

  • This paper presetns modifications of a hydraulic shovel to robotize, and we derive a dynamic model of the hydraulic shovel arms,and hydraulic analysis are discussed . Then , our purpose is making to imitate a target railroad line of the grinder position by the PID control. Moreover, to determine the gains of the PId controller, we referenced the Ziegler and Nichols' method. In this paper, we demonstrated that the PID control is available for system. These results indicated the possibility of practical use fo the deburring robot with the hydraulic shovel.

  • CFRP(Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastics) has many industrial applications due to its low weight and high strength properties. Due to its superior properties, for example, excellent resistance to fatigue wear, corrosion, and breakage from fatigue, it has been widely applicable to aircraft, automotive, and medical industries and so on. The main machining for CFRP is drilling, and route milling. In case of drilling, the machining defects such as the delamination of each layer, uncut fiber, resin burning, spalling, and exit burrs are inevitable. The issue to remove such kind of defects is necessary to make CFRP parts successful. From this point of view, this paper investigates the removal effectiveness of machining defects existing at exit region with different type of tool geometries. Consequently, based on the experiments, the tool geometry is most impact factor to remove uncut fiber or resin.

  • The shearing process for the sheet metal is normally used in the precision elements such as semi-conductor components. In these precision elements, the burr formation brings a bad effect on the system assembly and demands the additional de-burring process. In this paper, we have developed the desktop-type precision punching system to investigate the burr formation mechanism and present kinematically Punch-die auto aligning methodology, for the purpose of burr unifomizing and minimizing, between the rectangular shaped punch and die. By using the scanning electron microscope, the aligned punching results are compared with the miss-aligned ones. Also, we measured the relative burr heights using the self-designed laser measuring device for insitu self aligning. Since it is hard to get the perfect, so called, burr-free edges during the shearing process, we introduced the ultrasonic do-burring machine. The de-burring operation was carried out by a novel do-burring method, the reversal flow resistance method, under different machining loads and abrasive types. The final do-burring results show the validity of our punching do-burring system pursuing the burr-free punched elements.

  • As increasing demand for precise machining in advanced disciplines, especially in semi-conductor, aeronautical and automotive industries, the magnetic abrasive deburring(MAD) which is able to eliminate micro-sized burr on complex surface in less time has drawn the attention in the last decades. However, the performance of MAD is subject to shape and size of a tool. Therefore, this study aim to identify deburring behavior of MAD in U-type flow channel by measuring the length rate of burr removal in radial distance of the cylindrical tool under four process factors. In order to evaluate the deburring effect of MAD on the surface, finishing regions are divided based on center of the circular cutting tool. As a results, it was defined that the amount of burr removal in a downward direction moving toward flow channel from the top surface was higher than upward direction. This is because the magnetic abrasives were detached from magnetic lines of force due to geometrical shape.

A Study on Improving Deburring Efficiency Using Non-Contact Finishing Process (비접촉식 표면연마를 통한 디버링 효과 향상에 관한 연구)

  • The surface status of a workpiece determines its functionality, product quality, and manufacturing costs. Thus, several finishing technologies have been widely investigated and applied to improve surface characteristics. In this study, rotational electro-magnetic abrasive finishing (REMAF) was suggested as a non-contact finishing process to achieve high geometric precision. To verify the effects of the REMAF process on burr removal on the surface of Al6061, experiments were conducted using the Taguchi method. Based on the experimental results analyzed by the S/N ratio and ANOVA, the optimal conditions were defined as A3B2C3D3 that corresponded to 1,800 rpm of rotational speed, 1.5 kg of abrasive particle weight, 0.7 mm of abrasive diameter, and 15 min of working time. In addition, the particle weight was a key attribute for deburring, whereas the working time was less effective.
