  • 두산건설(주)은 1960년 동산토건으로 시작, 해외공사 및 국내 유수의 시공실적과 함께 지난 반세기에 걸쳐 앞선 기술과 품질로 건설산업을 이끌어 왔다. IMF당시 과감한 구조조정을 단행 하였고, 두산개발, 고려산업개발을 인수합병한 후 외형적인 성장 뿐 아니라 내실경영에 만전을 기하고 있다. 또한 시장환경변화에 대한 중장기 성장동력으로 복합개발사업, SOC민자사업, 도시개발사업 등 디벨로퍼(Developer)형 사업확대를 중점적으로 추진할 계획이며 이 중 복합개발사업은 후발주자로 시장에 진입했지만 지난해 1조3,000억원의 물량을 확보하는 등의 성과를 거둬 앞으로의 사업전망이 밝을 것으로 예상하고 있다. 두산건설(주)은 최근 부산 해운대에 아시아 최고 높이인 80층 주상복합아파트를 분양함으로써 초고층건물 시장에서의 입지를 다지고 있다.

  • A 1MW class HTS(High-Temperature Superconducting) synchronous motor has been developed. This motor was aimed to be utilized for industrial application such as large motors operating in large plants. The HTS field windings of the developed motor is cooled by way of Neon thermosiphon mechanism and the stator coil is cooled by water through hollow copper conductor. This paper describes performance test results of our motor, which was conducted at steady state in generator mode and motor mode.

Morphology and Texture of Microlites in the Baekdusan and Kyushu Obsidians (백두산과 규슈 흑요석 내 미세결정의 형태와 조직)

  • We examine the morphology and texture of microlites included in the obsidians from the Baekdusan (Mt. Baekdu) and Kyushu (SW Japan) by using an electron microscope. According to the morphological types of microlites, the microlites in the Baekdusan obsidians are classified as Arculites, Asteroidal and Crenulite, whereas those in the Kyushu obsidians as various types of Arculites, Bacillite, Belonites, Crenulite, Furculite, Lath, Margarite, and Scopulites. Specifically, the Arculites in both obsidians show very distinctive crystal relationships, though they are mainly composed of magnetite and pyroxene. The Baekdusan Arculites exhibit the poikilitic texture of pyroxene crystals enclosing multiple magnetite crystals, whereas the Kyushu ones demonstrate the granular and/or intergranular texture of interlocking between magnetite and pyroxene crystals. This distinction can be used to discriminate the provenance of the obsidian artefacts from the prehistoric sites in the Korean Peninsula.

  • Recently there are many disasters caused by volcanic activities such as the eruptions in Tungurahua, Ecuador(2014) and $Eyjafjallaj\ddot{o}kull$, Iceland(2010). Therefore, it is required to prepare countermeasures for the disasters. This study analyzes the Baekdu Mountain area, where is the risky area because it is active volcano, based on the observed data and scientific methods in order to assess a risk, produce a hazard map and analyze a degree of risk caused by the volcano. Firstly, it is reviewed for the research about the Baekdu mountain volcanic eruption in 1215(${\pm}15$ years) done by Liu Ruoxin. And the factors causing volcanic disaster, environmental effects, and vulnerability of Baekdu Mountain are assessed by the dataset, which includes the earthquake monitoring data, the volcanic deformation monitoring data, the volcanic fluid geochemical monitoring data, and the socio-economic statistics data. A hazard, especially caused by a volcano, distribution map for the Baekdu Mountain Area is produced by using the assessment results, and the map is used to establish the disaster risk index system which has the four phases. The first and second phases are very high risky area when the Baekdu Mountain erupts, and the third and fourth phases are less dangerous area. The map shows that the center of mountain has the first phase and the farther area from the center has the lower phase. Also, the western of Baekdu Mountain is more vulnerable to get the risk than the eastern when the factors causing volcanic disasters are equally applied. It seems to be caused by the lower stability of the environment and the higher vulnerability.

  • The historical accounts and materials about the eruption of Mt. Baekdusan as observed by the geological survey is now showing some signs of waking from a long slumber. As a response of the volcanic eruption of Mt. Baekdusan, water release may occur from the stored water in Lake Cheonjii caldera. The volcanic flood is crucial in that it has huge potential energy that can destruct all kinds of man-made structures and that its velocity can reach up to 100 km $hr^{-1}$ to cover hundreds of kilometers of downstream of Lake Cheonji. The ultimate goal of the study is to estimate the level of damage caused by the volcanic flood of Lake Cheon-Ji caldera. As a preliminary study a scenario-based numerical analysis is performed to build hydrographs as a function of time. The analysis is performed for each scenario (breach, magma uplift, combination of uplift and breach, formation of precipitation etc.) and the parameters to require a model structure is chosen on the basis of the historic records of other volcanos. This study only considers the amount of water at the rim site as a function of time for the estimation whereas the downstream routing process is not considered in this study.
