To research effects of various chemical superplasticizers(Lignosulfonic acid, Naphthalene sulfonated formaldehyde condensate, melamine sulfonated formaldehyde condensate, and Polycarboxylate) on the hydration of cement, experiments involving XRD, SEM, and DSC have been analysed with cement paste specimens. Regardless of types and dosages of superplasticizers, hydration reaction of specimen applied superplasticizer was delayed to 3 day, but then it showed similarity to plain which don't add superplasticizer. Moreover, the hydrating rate of cement paste was retarded as dosage of superplasticizer was increased. Also, kinetics related with hydrate of cement paste was slow in order of lignosulfonic acid, polycarboxylate, melamine and naphthalene sulfonated formaldehyde condensate. Nevertheless, when all kinds of chemical admixtures were used, morphologies of these hydrates were denser and more uniform than those of plain.

자료동화(data assimilation) 기법은 관측 자료와 예측 모형의 정보를 동시에 활용, 모형의 상태량(state variables)이나 매개변수(model parameters)를 실시간으로 업데이트하는 Bayesian 필터링 이론에 근거한 방법으로, 최근 이를 활용한 수문 모의 정확도 향상 기술이 빠르게 발전하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 앙상블 자료동화의 정확성을 향상시키기 위한 세부 방법인 along-the-stream localization과 inflation 기법의 분포형 수문 모형에 대한 적용성을 대규모 지역 단위(regional-scale) 모의를 통해 검토한다. 분포형 수문모형과 자료동화 framework로는 WRF-Hydro(Weather Research and Forecasting Model Hydrological Modeling System)와 DART(Data Assimilation Research Testbed)를 각각 적용한다. WRF-Hydro는 미국의 전 대륙지역(CONUS; continental United States)에 대한 수문 모델링 framework인 National Water Model의 핵심엔진이고, DART는 미국 National Center for Atmospheric Research(NCAR) 연구소에서 개발한 범용 자료동화 도구이다. 본 연구에서는 지표수 수문모형의 자료동화를 위해 개발된 기법인 along-the-stream localization과 inflation 기법이 하도 추적에 미치는 영향을 분석한다. along-the stream localization 기법은 공간적 근접도 외에 하도의 수문학적 연관관계를 고려하는 localization 기법으로, 상대적으로 수문학적 상관도가 떨어지는 하도에 대한 과도한 자료동화를 줄여줄 수 있다. inflation 기법은 앙상블의 다양성을 증가시키는 기법으로, 칼만 필터(Kalman filter)에 의한 업데이트의 이전이나 이후 적용하여 앙상블 예측의 정확도를 추가적으로 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 고에서는 앙상블 자료동화 기법을 지표수 수문 모의에 적용할 경우 남아 있는 난제와 적용 가능한 방법에 대해 중점적으로 논의한다.

The purpose of this study is to figure out the effects of multimedia fairy tale and narrative fairy tale lectures on children's language expression ability and drawing representation ability. To achieve this, this study was conducted from March to April, 2011 with 50 five-year-old children(25 children in the experimental group and 25 children in the comparative group) in K and S kindergartens at D metropolitan city. The results were as follows. First, the score of children's language expression ability was higher in the multimedia fairy tale lecture group than in the narrative fairy-tale lecture group. Second, the score of children's drawing representation ability was higher in the multimedia fairy tale lecture group than in the narrative fairy-tale lecture group. As for findings stated above, educational activities with multimedia were important in early childhood education. Consequently, children can better understand stories through multimedia fairy tales and various language activities, and improve their language expression ability and drawing representation ability through the process of exploring and drawing heroes in fairy tales. However, they have more need of educational activities, which are complementary to the merit of narrative fairy tale, than educational activities for only multimedia fairy tale lecture.

Hold-type display의 동화상 인식 원리를 이용하여 인간의 시각특성을 고려한 동화상 노이즈 컴퓨터 시뮬레이터를 개발하였다. 그리고 이 시뮬레이터를 이용하여 PDP의 동화상 노이즈인 의사윤곽 노이즈의 서브필드 배열과 속도 의존성에 대해 실험하였다. 실험 결과 기존의 서브필드 배열 방식은 의사윤곽 노이즈를 저감시킬 수가 있으나 화상의 이동속도가 빠를수록 노이즈가 증가하는 것을 알 수 있어 근본적인 대책이 될 수 없다는 것을 알았다.

본 논문에서는 유·아동의 독서활동을 돕고자 기존에 있는 동화책과 가상현실 기술을 결합한 몰입형 동화 콘텐츠를 제안한다. VR 환경은 3D 입체 환경을 통한 중다감각적 상호작용을 가능하게 하여 학습자로부터 동기를 유발시킨다. 프로그램이 시작되면 컨트롤러가 활성화되며 동화보기, 미니게임 등 동화에 직접적으로 참여하여 즐길 수 있는 콘텐츠로, 향후 유·아동의 교육적인 면에서도 더욱 효과적일 것으로 기대된다.

It is well known that the fluidity and the fluidity loss of fresh concrete are affected by the kind of organic admixtures. Organic admixture can improve the properties of concrete. Sulfonated Naphthalene-Formaldehyde(SNF) Superplasticizer is used representatively, but has a problem in fluidity loss. In this study, we synthesized the Sulfonated Melamine-Formaldehyde(SMF) superplasticizer at the various synthetic conditions and compared the physical properties with SMF superplasticizer. SW superplasticizer is synthesized with four synthetic steps. Step 1 is hydroxymethylation, Step. 2 is Sulfonation, Step. 3 is Polymerization and Step. 4 is Stabilization. Synthesis of SMF superplasticizer depends on pH, temperature and reaction time. In this reaction, we changed the mole ratio of melamine to formaldehyde at 1:3, 1:4, and the amount of acid catalyst at Step. 3. After application of SMF superplasticizer and its mixture with SNF superplasticizer to cement pastes and mortars, we measured the physical properties of them at the different dosages(0.5, 1.0, 1.5 wt%) to cement. In this study, We made Computing Stories as a part of the new method of SW education. Also, we have developed unplugged activities using coding stories. We analyzed changes in learning motivation and academic achievement in the core concepts of CT by applying classes to elementary school students. For the development of coding stories, we conducted a questionnaire analysis of 11 expert groups to derive the core concepts of computational Thinking. Using the core concept of Computational Thinking, we developed a coding stories and unplugged activities linked with coding stories. It was confirmed that the score of the core concept of CT before and after class increased from 54.44 to 83.10 and the learning motive was also improved from the average score of 103.48 to 110.44. The results showed that the Coding Stories were effective in the students' Computational thinking achievement and SW learning motives.

한국과학기술연구원(KIST) 제20대 신임원장에 금동화 박사가 선임됐다. 금동화 신임 원장은 전문성과 지도력, 개혁성, 국제적 감각 등에서 탁월한 능력을 인정받고 있다. 금동화 신임 원장은 대전고와 서울대 금속공학고를 졸업한 후 미 스탠퍼드대에서 재료과학박사 학위를 취득했으며 1985년 KIST에 들어와 지난 2002년 부원장을 지낸 바 있다. 다음은 금 신임위원장과의 대담 내용이다.

본 연구는 아동들의 창의력 향상과 인성 함양을 위하여 교훈적인 동화 만들기 수업 모형을 제시하고자 한다. 동화는 아동들에게 창의력을 펼쳐 보이고 자신의 능력을 확인해 볼 수 있는 첫 관문 중 하나이며, 자신을 인식하고 성취감을 통한 자신의 감정을 체험할 수 있는 좋은 장르이다. 이 수업을 통해 아동들은 문학 작품의 장르를 인식하고 구별할 수 있으며, 교훈적인 동화를 만들기 위한 알고리듬을 익히고, 이러한 알고리듬을 바탕으로 해서 교훈적인 동화를 만들어 본다. 작품을 만들기 위해 상상하고, 분석하고, 만들어가는 과정 속에서 아동들의 상상력과 창의력 및 언어적 표현력이 더욱 개발될 것이며, 동시에 일상생활에서 삶의 도덕적이고 윤리적인 요소들을 좀 더 면밀하게 살피고 적용하며, 내면화하는 작업을 익히게 될 것이다.
