In this study, the panel joint behavior by the vehicle load moving on precast panel is analyzed. The frame was made for loading and the behavior was determined by using each measuring device. The static response of the panel was examined and compared with the theoretical value, and it was found that the characteristics were very reasonable. In addition, acceleration, velocity, and displacement were measured for dynamic impact evaluation, and the characteristics of moving load were analyzed in the test. The vibration frequency of the panel was measured for the dynamic response by the moving load, and the vibration characteristic was considered to be sensitive to the range of the load. As a result, it is considered that the dynamic response of the connection part should be careful in design because the characteristics are different according to the connection method.

The compaction control method of national road substructure is using field density test to determine the relative compaction and plate bearing test to check the load bearing capacity. However, these two tests digitize a construction site manager's judgment based on his experience, so mechanical basis is weak. Resilient modulus method, which is recently being used to resolve such problem, is evaluated as a rational design method of pavement structure that can rationally reflect the stress-strain state of pavement materials that is caused by the condition of load repetition of vehicle load. However, the method of measuring the resilient modulus is difficult and lengthy, and it has many problems. To replace it, light falling weight test is recently being proposed as a simple test method. Therefore, this research uses dynamic plate loading test, which quickly and simply measures the elastic modulus of the subgrade and sub-base construction and site of maintenance, to judge the possibility of compaction control of the stratum under the road, and it proposes relation formula by analyzing the result of static load test.
The general concept of reinforced roadbed in the high-speed railway is to cope with the soft ground for the bearing capacity and settlement of foundation soil. The cyclic plate load tests were performed to determine the behavior of reinforced ground with multiple layers of geogrid underlying by soft soil. With the test results, the bearing capacity ratio, elastic rebound ratio, subgrade modulus and the strain of geogrids under loading were investigated. Based on these plate load tests, laboratory model tests under cyclic loading were conducted to estimate the effect of geogrid reinforcement in particular for the high-speed rail roadbed. The permanent settlement and the behavior of earth pressure in reinforced roadbed subjected to a combination of static and dynamic loading are presented.

In the study a 2 dimensional model test was executed to grasp the effect of the taking load of equipments on the ground when improving a soft ground like dredging reclaimed ground. The static load and the dynamic load in the consolidated model ground was $0.02kg/cm^2,\;0.03kg/cm^2\;and\;0.04kg/cm^2$ respectively. After consolidating far two months by consolidation load of $0.02kg/cm^2,\;0.03kg/cm^2\;and\;0.04kg/cm^2$ respectively, the ultimate bearing capacity was $0.16kg/cm^2,\;0.19kg/cm^2,\;0.24kg/cm^2$ respectively. And the energy price of dynamic load test at the same point as the settlement of static load test indicated $E=336{\sim}945kg{\cdot}cm,\;E=252{\sim}780kg{\cdot}cm\;and\;E=323{\sim}727kg{\cdot}cm$ for each consolidation load. When the static load and the dynamic load operated at the same ground condition, the heaving quantity was bigger in the case of the dynamic load than in the case of the static load, and the horizontal displacement quantity the in the case of dynamic load was exhibited very deficiently compared to the quantity in the case of static load test.
Even though the plate bearing test (PBT) to evaluate the load baring capacity and the field density test to evaluate the relative density are mainly used for quality control of soil compaction in Korea, use of the dynamic cone penetrometer test (DCPT) and the dynamic plate bearing test (DPBT) considering economic feasibility, rapidity, and suitability for field conditions increase to use for quality control of soil compaction. In this study, bearing capacity and relative density of subgrade with thickness of 20 cm, 30 cm, and 40 cm are estimated using PBT, DCPT, DPBT and field density test in three field compaction tests, and the relationship among various compaction evaluation methods is analyzed and discussed.

In most experimental researches on the liquefaction phenomenon, an earthquake as a random vibration has been regraded as a sinusoidal wave or a triangular wave with an equivalent amplitude. Together with the development in the part of signal control and data acquisition, dynamic experimental equipments in the soil dynamics have also developed rapidly and further more, several real earthquakes have been simulated in the large model test such as shaking table tests and centrifuge tests. In Korea, several elementary laboratory tests to simulate the real earthquake load were performed. From these test results, it was reported that the sinusoidal wave cannot reliably reflect the soil dynamic behavior under the real earthquake motion. In this study, 4 types of dynamic motions such as the sinusoidal wave, the triangular wave, the incremental triangular wave and several real earthquake motions which were classified with shock-type and vibration-type were loaded to find something new to explain the change of the excess pore water pressure under the real earthquake load. Through the detailed investigation and comparison on all test results, it is found that the dynamic flow is generated by the soil plastic deformation and the velocity head of dynamic flow is changed the pressure head in the un-drained condition. It can be concluded that the change of the excess pore water pressure is related to the pressure head of dynamic flow. Lastly, a new hypothesis to explain such a liquefaction initiation phenomenon under the real earthquake load is also proposed and verified.
The pressure penetrating steel pipe pile method which can be constructed in a narrow space using the hydraulic jack is used on the foundation reinforcement, extension of the structure and basement, restoration of the differential settlement etc.. This method is possible to construct in narrow areas and low story height, the non-noise and non-vibration works, and it is possible for the construction site to be clean without slime. And it is possible to confirm the bearing capacity of pile due to penetrating the pile with the compression load of hydraulic jack. In this study, the static load test with the load-transfer test was carried out to investigate the bearing behavior characteristics of the pressure penetrating steel pipe pile. Four series of static load test were executed to investigate the variation of bearing behavior of the pressure penetrating steel pipe pile. As a result of these tests, the allowable load of the pressure penetrating steel pipe was evaluated more than 637 kN, and the shaft resistance corresponding to 81~86% of each applied load was mobilized with only a small portion of the base resistance acting. And it was also evaluated that the unit skin friction was mobilized to maximum value after two months.

This paper presents an experimental evaluation of wandering effect on asphalt concrete pavement responses. A laser-based wandering system has been developed and its performance is verified under various field conditions. The portable wandering system composed of two laser sensors with Position Sensitive Devices can allow one to measure the distance between laser sensors and tire edges of moving vehicle. Therefore, lateral position of each wheel on the pavement can be determined in a real time manner. Pavement responses due to different loading paths are investigated using a roll over test which is carried out on one of asphalt surfaced pavements in the Korea Highway Corporation test road. The pavement section (A5) consists of 5 cm thick surface course; 7 cm intermediate course; and 18 mm base course, and is heavily instrumented with strain gauges, vertical soil pressure cells and thermo-couples. From the center of wheel paths, seven equally-spaced lateral loading paths are carefully selected over an 140 cm wandering zone. Test results show that lateral horizontal strains in both surface and intermediate courses are mostly compressive right under the loading path and tensile strains start to develop as the loading offset becomes 40 cm from the wheel path. The development of the vertical stresses in the top layers of subbase and anti-frost is found to be minimal once the loading offset becomes 50 cm.
Increasing demand of rational analysis of dynamic soil behavior subjected to repetitive loading has evolved soil dynamics which is essential for proper design and/or analysis of dynamically loaded soil structure. In this paper, the stress-strain behavior of weathered granite soil under cyclic loading is stud- ied by measuring the strength and the strain before and after application of at least 11, 000 cycles of repetitive load. Relationships are suggested for predicting results of soil dynamics from those of soil statics.
