An Improved Dynamics Model for Stone Skipping Simulation (물수제비 시뮬레이션을 위한 개선된 동역학 모델)

  • We can see interactions between rigid body and fluid every day, anywhere. This kind of rigid body-fluid simulation is one of the most difficult problems in physically-based modeling, mainly due to heavy computations. In this paper, we present a real-time dynamics model for simulating stone skipping, which is a popular rigid body-fluid interaction in the real world. In comparison to the previous works, our improved dynamics model supports the rotation of the stones and also computes frictional forces with respect to the air. We can simulate a realistic result for various user input by using proposed model. Additionally, we present a water surface model to show more realistic ripples interactively. Our methods can be easily adapted to other interactive dynamics systems including 3D game engines.

  • 본 논문에서는 유리 용해로의 온도 제어를 위한 동역학 행렬 제어 (Dynamic Matrix Control, DMC) 기법의 적용 사례를 소개한다. 다양한 제약조건들과 긴 시간지연 응답을 갖는 유리 용해로는 DMC외 좋은 적용 분야가 될 수 있다. 먼저 용해로 테스트를 통하여 입출력 데이터를 생성하고 이를 바탕으로 용해로의 동역학 행렬 모델을 결정한다. 그 후, 모의 실험을 통하여 제어기의 설계변수들을 결정한다. 마지막으로, 제시된 제어기를 실제 용해로 생산 공정에 적용된 결과를 제시한다.

Ion Exchange Modeling with Mass Action Law and Surface Complexation Models (질량작용법칙과 표면착화모델을 이용한 이온교환 모델링)

  • A large equilibrium and kinetic data set for multi-component cation exchanges was obtained and tested with mass action law and surface complexation model. The systematic batch equilibrium and column experiments of cation adsorption were conducted for binary, ternary, quaternary, and quinary cation exchanges involving $ H^{+}, Li^ {+}, Na^{+}, NH$_4$^{+}, Mg^{2+} $ on a strongly acidic cation exchange resin IRN 77. The mass action law and surface complexation model were tested against both data set to investigate the consistency of ion selectivity and their predictability for competitive cation exchanges. Surface complexation model provided more accurate predictions for both equilibrium and kinetic experimental data than mass action model.

Equivalent Modeling Technique for 1-D Collision Dynamics Using 3-D Finite Element Analysis of Rollingstock (열차의 3차원 유한요소해석을 이용한 1차원충돌 동역학 등가 모델링 기법)

  • In this study, a new equivalent modeling technique of rollingstock for 1-D collision dynamics was proposed using crash analysis of 3-D finite element model in some detail. To obtain good simulation results of 1-D dynamic model, the force-deformation curves of crushable structures should be well modelled with crash analysis of 3-D finite element model. Up to now, the force-deformation curves of the crushable structures have been extracted from crash analyses of sectionally partitioned parts of the carbody, and integrated into 1-D dynamic model. However, the results of the 1-D model were not satisfactory in terms of crash accelerations. To improve this problem, the force-deformation curves of the crushable structures were extracted from collision analysis of a simplified train consist in this study. A comparative study applying the suggested technique shows in good agreements in simulation results between two models for KHST.

Analysis of Bicycle Cushion System by using Repulsive Force of Magnetics (영구자석의 척력을 이용한 자전거 완충장치 해석)

  • One commercial package for magnetic analysis was used to apply repulsive forces of permanent magnetics to bicycle cushion system. Reliabilities of finite element analysis were acquired by comparing with those of experimental measurements. Equivalent spring stiffnesses corresponding to various sizes of magnetics were implemented into the bicycle dynamic model with three degree of freedom. Input force caused at front and rear wheels due to road unevenness was considered in the dynamic model. Dynamic behaviors were observed in terms of vertical displacements of the rider and the front reach as well as pitching displacement of the mass center when the bicycle ran over half-triangular bump. The methodology suggested in this paper by the finite element analysis and numerical model will be an useful tool for more accurate prediction of cushion design for any vehicle system if magnetic forces are utilized.

  • A real time multibody vehicle dynamics model has been developed and implemented using a subsystem synthesis method based on recursive formulation. To verify real time simulation capability the developed model has been applied to HMMWV(High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle) with steering system. For the kinematically driven steering system, the coupled front suspension-steering subsystem can be decoupled into two SLA suspension subsystems, which improves the efficiency of simulation. To investigate theoretical efficiency, operational counting method has been also employed to compare the proposed model with the conventional recursive dynamics model. Various simulations such as unsymmetric bump run, step steering(J-turn) and sine steering input test have been carried out to verify the real time feasibility of the proposed model.

  • 에어컨의 실내기에서 발생하는 소음은 주로 회전하는 팬의 진동에 의하여 발생하게 된다. 이는 구조기인 소음으로 낮은 주파수특성을 갖고, 흡음이나 차음의 소음저감방법으로는 해결하기 어려운 특성을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 벽걸이형 에어컨 원심팬에 발생하는 진동(sway motion)의 원인을 진동실험과 동역학 시뮬레이션을 통하여 규명하였다. 실험적인 측면으로는 시스템분석과 시그널분석을 통하여 원심팬 구성품의 물성치 및 동특성을 확보하였고, 해석적인측면으로는 실험으로 확보된 원심팬의 동특성을 바탕으로 동역학 시뮬레이션 모델을 수립하였다. 실험 및 동역학 시뮬레이션을 바탕으로 원심팬 진동의 원인을 규명하였고, 원심팬 진동의 원인은 원심팬과 모터축사이의 축정렬 불량임을 확인하였다. 이를 해결하고 진동을 저감하기위한 장치를 고안하고 실험을 통하여 진동저감효과를 확인하였다.

  • In this paper, a real-time multibody vehicle dynamics and control model has been developed for a virtual reality intelligent vehicle simulator. The simulator consists of low PCs for a virtual reality visualization system, vehicle dynamics and control analysis system a control loading system, and a network monitoring system. Virtual environment is created by 3D Studio Max graphic tool and OpenGVS real-time rendering library. A real-time vehicle dynamics and control model consists of a control module based on the sliding mode control for adaptive cruise control and a real-time multibody vehicle dynamics module based on the subsystem synthesis method. To verify the real-time capability of the model, cut-in, cut-out simulations have been carried out.
